No guide ever showed up! So it never happened!

This tour never happened! It was our last day in France and we were excited to go- we even showed up early to the meeting point. No tour guide ever came! We tried contacting the tour guide- no answer. Spent a lot of time on the phone with Viator customer service. Viator said they tried contacting the tour guide- no answer. They couldn’t give our money back until they confirmed that it was really a “no show” and the tour didn’t happen and they said they would contact me about a refund. So 24 hrs later- haven’t heard back from Viator about a refund (over $300). So I will need to call again. The customer service rep said that there was no compensation offered for this situation. Because it was going to be a 9 hour day trip- we had no plans for the day and had to scramble the last minute to organize the day unfortunately- didn’t go well. It was too late to take other day trips at that point because everything already left or started. So very disappointed. Customer service should be better with compensation. So maybe I will not use Viator again.
