- During peak periods, security checks can sometimes take as long as an hour.
- According to tower regulations, if you book the summit, you must visit the top first before exploring the lower floors.
- If you chose the cruise option: It’s a 1-hour Seine River cruise with Bateaux Parisiens, departing from the Eiffel Tower. Admire Paris’s top landmarks like Notre-Dame, the Louvre, and the Musée d'Orsay, with audio commentary available in 14 languages. Cruises run daily, every 30 minutes from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM. Your tour guide will give you the tickets on the day of the tour, and they’re valid for 1 year.

I booked this because booking direct through Eiffel website had summit experience sold out. I could have booked walking stairs tour to second level directly through main website. I thought this would guarantee our family summit tour with pre-arranged tickets. This is not the case. Tour guide showed up on time. Tells you it’s 50/50 chance on if you get to go to top because of weather, wind, heat, or crowds. They take you through security which does not require tickets. They then buy tickets real time at window for the whole group. If summit is available, you’re good, if not, they tell you they closed the summit. Which I knew because online sold out. Kids were upset when you see people going to summit with tickets because they have them. Only decent thing is they give you history of tower. But, they make you wait for 5-10 minute periods for pre-arranged breaks or to let the rest of group to catch up during stair climb. My recommendation is to book what’s available direct through the main website and do the tour on your time reading the history signs as desired and save yourself time, money and the headache. Disappointed.

Climbing the Eiffel Tower by stairs was quite a hike, but the views along the way made it absolutely worth it. We were unable to utilize the option to reach the very top because they closed it while we were waiting, but the experience was still memorable and rewarding.

Does not Skip the Line!!! While our tour guide James was great and gave us some interesting info about the Eiffel Tower we waited in line almost 2 hours when we were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. Considering you need to wait in line anyways I would say save your money and go up yourself.
