Not worth it and not what I paid for.

I paid for a catamaran, but ended up on a monohull. I don’t mind a monohull, but wasn’t given the option when signing up and know it’s at least $50 less so I was pretty upset about that on the companies end. I did love my captain and we had some good conversations. I also found the islands pretty underwhelming and not really worth visiting let alone for $360 with transport. They’re unique, but there’s not great snorkeling or much to see. I think it’s wonderful that the people get this land and I’m sure tourism is a large part of their income, so maybe in big groups it’s fun? It also wasn’t much of a “tour”, just hanging out near some islands.

Hi Gioia Thank you for your feedback. I would like to clarify that your reservation was made for our sailboat monohull tour, which is the experience that was provided. We do offer catamaran tours as separate listings, but that was not the tour booked. Regarding the snorkeling, many guests enjoy excellent snorkeling in San Blas, with clear waters and abundant marine life. Of course, conditions can vary due to weather, currents, and visibility, and the snorkeling experience often depends on the particular area where guests choose to enter the water. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed your captain and the time spent onboard. While the experience is designed as a relaxed sailing excursion rather than a guided historical tour, we understand that every traveler has different expectations and appreciate you sharing your perspective. This experience was certainly an adventure! Our experience getting to the coast was eventful and full of windy roads. If you don’t have a strong stomach or struggle with sudden movements, prepare yourself! Once we got to the water we took a speedboat in which they dropped us off to the sailboat in the ocean. From there we kayaked to the islands of our choice. It was a great experience and the water was beautiful!

The reviews about the harrowing car ride from Panama City to catch the boat are not an exaggeration. It wasn’t clear that the sailboat wouldn’t be waiting for me when I arrived. I had to take the speed boat to the sailboat. It was all worth it. Nico was a lovely host. He greeted me with a yummy breakfast spread. I hopped into the water for a bit, and then he took me to one island to buy gifts and to another island for lobster lunch. It was a cloudy day in San Blas, but it was still gorgeous.
