Peppe, Victorio and Arianna are amazing guides. We feel that we got the grand tour of the best places with the best information. The bus was comfortable and cool on a warm day & the three guides worked together harmoniously. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a water. There are plenty of bathrooms and some shady spots. I highly recommend this tour.

What an amazing experience! Our guide and driver were fantastic and our guide through Pompeii was over the top! Finally, we enjoyed the dinner and wine tasting at the restaurant. Great food and delicious wines!

Pepe and Giovanni were fantastic. This is a can’t-miss experience. Our driver and tour assistant and tour guide were very skillful. We had an unforgettable time walking through vineyards with a sommelier and a wonderful lunch with unbelievable views of the vineyard and Mt. Vesuvius.

Disappointed with Giromondo Tour

I want to rate this a 2 but Pompeii itself was amazing and lunch on Vesuvius was outstanding. The food was delicious with excellent portions, the wine tasting was lovely, and the views were beautiful. However, Giromondo Tours combined an English speaking tour group (what we signed up for) with an Italian speaking tour group so each stop in Pompeii took twice as long which means we saw half as many sites since we had to stand around and listen to the same information in Italian. The last half hour was very rushed and before we knew it, we were outside the gates in the street - no museum, no gift shop. We were told we had 10 minutes to "shop" at the tourist stalls in the street. The tour was very disappointing. I feel as though I should receive a partial refund as we did not receive the tour we paid for but that won't make up for all that we missed at Pompeii. I've taken many Viator Tours and have always had great experiences, except for this one. My recommendation is to avoid Giromondo Tours completely or, if they're your only option, somehow obtain a guarantee that the tour will be held only in the language you paid for so you don't miss out on anything. Viator always lists the actual tour company who organizes the tour in the description before you purchase it so it's easy to find out which tour group will manage it.

Absolutely worth booking! The Pompeii tour was fascinating and incredibly well organized. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and brought the ancient city to life in a way that made the history feel real instead of overwhelming. After exploring the ruins, the winery experience was the perfect balance of relaxation and scenery. The lunch was delicious, the wine tasting was generous, and the views near Mount Vesuvius were stunning. It was such a great mix of culture, history, food, and wine all in one day. Long day, but completely worth it and one of the highlights of our Italy trip.

Great tour, easy to follow. There was alot of history there and so much to take in. Glad we went. The pick up and drop off was convenient just sad we weren't able to do the lunch.

We did not experience the Vesuvius/lunch portion of this tour. The tour operator told us there was a problem with the winery, but in actuality they didn't have enough people for this tour, so they added us to another group. I asked for a 50% refund as we only got half of the experience and was refunded less than 25%, which is pretty unacceptable. Beyond that, the tour of Pompeii itself was fairly lackluster. There are some very famous frescos and sites that we did not see. Our guide Walter, was rather bland and kind of rude to many of the participants and, especially when explaining that we didn't have time to see the most popular things. The tour assistant, Fabrizio, was super personable and Charlie the driver was nice. Unfortunately- they were not the ones giving the actual tour. Finally, we booked an English-speaking tour, but the tour we were provided was in English and Italian. No shade, but waiting for the guide to translate the explanation at each site, might be why we ran out of time to see the most popular things at Pompeii.

We were instructed to arrive at our meeting point at 8.15 but the bus didn't arrive until nearly 9, without explanation, which was a shame. When we reached Pompeii the guide was fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, willing to respond to questions. It would have been nice to spend longer exploring Pompeii even though it was raining heavily. We didn't see the amphitheatre or house of the faun, for instance. The restaurant and wine-tasting experience was good - great view of the bay, even if covered by storm clouds - food very nice, excellent wine. They were a little pushy on purchasing the wine but I suppose that's how they make their money!

It was a good experience! Pepe, Petro, and Walter were lovely and very helpful. Pompeii is expansive and it is useful to have the guide. The lunch and wine tasting they organized was also lovely and delicious. It is a 3 course meal with a tasting of 4 wines. What a lovely day!

Our day at Pompeii and Sorrentino Winery was absolutely unforgettable! The guided tour through Pompeii was fascinating, our guide was so knowledgeable, bringing history to life with stories and details that made it easy to imagine the ancient city as it once was. After exploring, we headed to Sorrentino Winery on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius for a wine tasting and lunch, and it was perfection. The setting was stunning, surrounded by vineyards and views of the volcano. The wines were exceptional (I ordered 6 bottles to be shipped to me at home), and the meal was excellent, from the fresh pasta to the local cheeses and olive oil, it was one of the best we had in Italy. Everything was well-organized and relaxing from start to finish. I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone visiting it was the perfect mix of history, culture, and incredible food and wine!
