Avoid the crowds of Pompeii

Our driver Luigi was great. Very clean car. The tour was good. Definitely less crowded than Pompeii. May be a bit boring for kids or people not interested in history.

Great way to see history

This is a very amazing ruin. The guide, Lello, was a great narrator about the life in the town. He has a family connection which added local color. The pace was great. He answered any question and was able to explain how the economy and culture related to Pompeii. We are so glad we chose this site. It has many well preserved features.

Not worth it

One company seems to organize different parts of the tour so you have a separate driver and guide. Last minute communication occurs but you won’t get it if you are at sea. We waited almost an hour for the driver. Very confusing. He was fine once he arrived and the guide at Herculaneum was good. For an expensive 2 person tour, there was a lot of initial frustration. I would not book with this company ever again.
