This is a long day, but one of our Milan Olympic trip highlights. It is awesome. Very well organized. The sites and views are incredible. Probably the only time I'll ever be in the Swiss Alps so it was once in a lifetime tour.
Our tour was: bus to Lake Como, boat ride on the lake, bus to St Moritz, 2.5 hours to eat and walk around, Bernina train to Tirano, bus back to Milan.
Everything was beautiful. Here's a few tips to make your day the most enjoyable.
1) Try to book a restaurant reservation (or research restaurant choices) in St Moritz so you know exactly where you're going to eat. I think we got off the bus at around 1215pm. So a 1230pm or 1245pm reservation would be perfect.
2) Buy some snacks and drinks in St Moritz prior to boarding the train. We were slightly delayed on the train so we went straight from the train to the bus without an opportunity to buy anything (after the train and prior to the final bus ride).
3) Bring an external battery charger. I brought my power cord but didn't see anywhere to charge on the bus or train. You'll be taking lots of photos so you don't want to run out of battery.
4) Sit on the left side of the train, window seat if possible. You can lower the windows for great photos and the train curves over a beautiful bridge after a tunnel and the left side gets a much better view.
5) The last leg of the trip is the worst. You end the day with a 2.5 hour bus ride on mostly highways. Eat those snacks from earlier, take a nap, take off your jacket and get settled in. Have an audiobook, album, movie, etc downloaded to your phone so you can go airplane mode and save battery.
Our day was 715am to 825pm. It was an awesome experience that I would highly recommend.

Breathtaking views and wonderful guide. The Bernina train was very cramped, nothing luxurious as we had expected. Barely enough time at each stop to grab a bite to eat and not really time to explore. But hey, nothing compares to the Alps!!

It was fantastic although we had to go to the cathedral and we have skipped it and had little time in st Moritz.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback. We are pleased to know that you found the experience fantastic overall.
At the same time, we are sorry to hear that the schedule required a visit to the cathedral and that this resulted in less time available in St. Moritz than you had hoped. We understand how important it is to fully enjoy each stop, and we truly appreciate your comments, which help us continue improving our organization and timing.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide an experience that is even more aligned with your expectations.
Kind regards.

I was so looking forward to this trip but it was very disappointing. My initial booking was changed due to operational issues!
But really it was to cram as many people into the coach and the carriage as possible, making it crowded, hectic and uncomfortable. I had thought this was the Bernina Express with the lovely overhead windows but it was the local train where the windows can be opened meaning that the train trip was spent with people vying for more photographs than anyone really needs. No food opportunity on the train or toilets which was outlined several times on the coach to Tiriano but as I knew already I had taken a packed lunch and drink. The view of Lake Como was whizzing past on the motorway and the tour round St Moritz was speedy and not easy to herd 50 people by one guide. The guide, Sabrina, herself was personable and professional and the coach and drivers very safe and competent. It was a greedy tour because next month tours will only be allowed 25 in a group I was told. It would have been possible to do this myself by booking a train to Tirano from Milan and taking a trip on the Bernina Express to Chur but St Moritz is quite charming and then it is a 2-3 hour coach back to Milan in the dark. Also on the train our group of 50 were confined to one carriage, or upgrade for another 24 euros to FirstClass and then find out that in fact one could have been in other carriages but our tour guide said we should stay in the crowded one - so that was annoying to find out in hindsight as the rest of the train was almost empty.
The scenery was lovely though and worth seeing. Nothing much in Tirano, Lake Como not great in winter even speeding by and hearing about the lovely gardens! St Moritz is classy and charming.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback that help us continue improving our services. We’re sorry and understand your disappointment but we’re glad, however, that you enjoyed the stunning scenery, the charm of St. Moritz, and the professionalism of your guide as well as the safety and competence of our drivers.
As a guided group tour, this experience uses standard regional Red train carriages, allowing guests to open windows for photography, as stated in the tour description. Even during peak periods, we always do our best to manage the group to ensure all main highlights are included. The full-day itinerary is designed to combine Lake Como, St. Moritz, and the Bernina route safely within one day.

very bad they literally stuff you into a bus and train and it's not panoramic window and families get departed because they don't assign seats. Most of the tour is sitting in a bus and stopping for bathroom! the train was only an hour
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for having shared your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations.
The tour acted as in the description: transportation was provided by luxury coach and comfortable standard Red train carriages. While we always do our best to keep families seated together—and this is normally achieved—assigned seating cannot be guaranteed in particular during periods of high demand. This experience is a shared group tour. The itinerary includes transfers and scheduled stops to ensure safety and comfort for all participants during a full-day experience.
We understand that expectations can vary and will be taken into consideration your comments as we continue to improve overall guest experience.
