Overview

Ditch the crowds and boats for this scenic hands-free kayaking tour on the ocean off of Olowalu Beach. During whale-watching season, roughly from December to April, head out in search of humpbacks. During the rest of the year, visit lookouts onto the West Maui Mountains from the ocean and search for dolphins, turtles, and reefs through clear water.

Loved this whale watching kayak tour with La! He was personable and knew how to navigate so as not to damage the reefs, while giving us the best change of seeing whales. Despite going before whale season, we still managed to see several. Beautiful morning on the water. Will definitely use La again next time.

La was a knowledgeable guide that kept us entertained the entire trip. The paddle kayaks were super easy to navigate and made the experience very relaxing. We saw a few whales and we felt safe out on the ocean. This is a great excursion for a peaceful stroll on the water with great views!

Really fun but should not advertise whale watching when the tour guide/ owner clearly stated there are no whales to see in may … could have reduced the price for a paddle kayak trip on the ocean for a few hours while he fished … we did have fun aside from the false advertising

This was an incredible experience. La and Andon were the best guides and made sure we had the experience of a lifetime. Loved the pedaling kayaks- it kept my hands free for taking video of the beautiful whales we came across. I would 10/10 do it again. Amazing.

Easy kayaking trip in Olowalu with such beauty

Got recommended a better time of day which is early and the conditions were great then. Most beautiful spot. Our guide was very friendly and interesting and made it a wonderful experience for us. I only gave them a 4 out of 5 because they forgot to bring the snacks but it wasn't a big deal. Our guide took pictures of us and sent them to us.

Beautiful day on the sea! We had a fabulous experience! Justin was so knowledgble about Maui landmarks and history. We enjoyed the pedal on the kayak. Very easy to get to our destination and back. We will definitely be back!!!!

Jeanbarakah, owner of Boomkanani, is an outstanding guide and just a good dude to spend the afternoon with. We had amazing whale encounters, boated a Mahi, listened to whalesong with the hydrophone, and just had an overall outstanding experience. Oh, and the equipment is top notch.
