The daytrip supposed to be at 11:15 a.m, but during the day the person in charge sent me a message informing me the daytrip was changed to 03:15 p.m. By the way I arrived to Mdina citadelle early in the morning, I was walking around there, visiting places, however when the daytrip schedule arrived, there wasn't any guide in the meeting point. As matter of fact, I was waiting for 10 or 15 minutes, but nobody appeared.

Hi, A mail was sent to you a week in advance communicating that the Tour is at 3.15pm not 11am.You responded immediately saying that it works for you.Then on the day of the Tour another email was sent to you with instructions on meet up time and location, yet again you replied confirming.I have screenshots of your emails confirming the time then you go write a review that is false and defamatory.Extremely strange behavior!!!why do you resond saying yes if you have no clue?Why did you not try calling or emailing once you reached?????

What a great way to explore Mdina! Early evening = less crowds, less heat! LOADS of history and details shared. Just perfect! Definitely book this tour - One of the best I've ever been on!

I consider myself an extremely avid traveller and have been using Viator for numerous years for my travel needs. So far so good, I have always loved Viator and praise the app for its flexibility of use, that is, until my experience this past Sunday. I have to say, it's probably time I delete the app and find another company who cares, honours, and accepts Accountability for when 3rd party Tour Operators FAIL TO FULFILL their responsibility to the customer, and/or to carry out their services. Long story short -I signed for "Mysteries of Mdina: Private Tour of the Ancient City" many months ago for my visit tour to Malta. FAIR WARNING: DO NOT TAKE THIS TOUR!!!! The tour operators have no integrity, how can anyone sleep at nights, when they have no issues taking someone else's money WITHOUT PROVIDING the service a customer has already paid for ? The tour operators "claimed" my partner and I were not at the meeting point - that is untrue; my partner and I clearly were PRESENT at the meeting point during the correct time, PLUS had proof from my UBER receipt/screenshot of the ride that we were there. The tour operators refused to believe us, and hence felt they had the right to NOT agree to refund me! Seriously blows my mind how shady the tour operators are. An honest, respectful business would never have had a problem refunding money if work was NOT fulfilled. I reached out to Viator as soon as I noticed no one showed up at the meeting point, and initially they did seem supportive. However in the days ahead, they did pretty much NOTHING but offer empty apologies and sided with the tour operator. I am DONE wasting my energy with companies and people who have no respect for my business. To the Tour company who Operates "Mysteries of Mdina: Private Tour of the Ancient City" - you stoled my money ($148.88 CAD or 94.92 Euros), I hope you are proud of yourself. Lesson learned for me - I should NOT trust any tour companies with only 24 Reviews. Moreover I will make sure I share with the world what happened to me. Have a good life!

The experience was underwhelming.
This was booked as a private tour for two, but a second couple showed up as well. Not a private tour. I have contacted Viator about this and am awaiting a resolution/ explanation.
Our guide was prompt and enthusiastic, but the her commentary was shallow and historical facts sometimes wrong. There was a lot of focus on where various episodes of Game of Thrones was filmed. We walked past the same parts of Mdina several times for no apparent reason. We didn't go into the Church proper, but just lingered in the entryway with minimal narrative from our guide. For the dungeon/ museum we were left on our own to wander around at the end of the tour.

Thank you for reaching out. I'd like to address your concerns point by point:
Group Size: Our tour is advertised as a private experience for up to 6 people. This could include 3 couples, 6 adults, or a family of 6. At no point does the description mention a tour specifically for 2 people.This is Private by the mere fact that you don’t follow a Person with a Red flag with 60 other adults.If you preferred a tour just for two, there was an option to make a special request during booking, which many guests utilise.
Tour Focus: The tour description clearly states that the primary focus is on Game of Thrones locations and pop culture. This is the format of our tour, as emphasized in the description.
Inclusions: Please refer to the inclusions section of the tour description. It specifies which entrance fees are covered. For example, entry to St. Paul's Cathedral is not included, whereas the Dungeons are. This is why we couldn't enter the Cathedral but were able to visit the Dungeons.
Guide Participation in the Dungeons: Since July, tour guides are not permitted to enter the Dungeons due to limited underground capacity. Our description does not indicate that I would accompany guests inside the Dungeons.
I hope this clarifies your concerns. Please feel free to compare these points with the tour description for further confirmation.
