The guides both on the Madrid tour and the Prado museum made the whole day. They were AMAZING passionate, ready to answer questions and very interactive. A great guide makes all the tour .

We had a really great tour guide. The overall experience was very good. Except that the bus was 45 minutes late. Our tour guide was Macarena and we’re very pleased with our tour. She’s very knowledgeable & easy to talk to. We were told that we will be refunded. When should we expect a credit to our account.

Our guide Miriam was amazing, she was so knowledgable about all the artwork. She made our visit not only pleasurable but interesting.
Steve_k, May 2019
The guide was the best. His English was very good and his knowledge of Spanish History was excellent, but most impressive was his guided tour through the Prada Museum and his detailed knowledge of each artist he pointed out and what the details of each painting meant.

Had to cancel tour due to protesting. However the tour guide notified us early and let us know what was happening.

We were a group of 5 adults and 4 youths who recently took this tour on June 16, 2018. I highly recommend this tour if you want to get a great overview of Madrid. We especially loved the Prado Museum guided tour. Our tour guide was the main reason we enjoyed the Prado museum so much. You can look at a painting and see oil, colors, etc, but you're really seeing NOTHING. But, when you get a well-informed history lesson and explanation of what you're looking at, it's a totally eye-opening experience and understanding of the work of art!

What a great way to see a LOT of the highlights in the City. Enjoyed seeing the bullfighting arena and all of the beautiful buildings throughout the city. Our tour guide through our brief visit to the Prado was fantastic and did a great job of explaining what the artists were representing, what was happening at the time in history, etc. - very well done!
John_M, Feb 2018
It would have been fantastic but many of the significant paintings were in Australia at that time!

The afternoon Skip the Line Prado guided tour was spectacular. It was 5-star. I cannot imagine trying to see the Prado without our guide. Her explanation of the key aspects of the paintings and sculptures we saw gave depth and meaning to our experience. Once the guided tour portion of the tour was over, we were free to explore the Prado on our own--a great benefit
The morning sightseeing tour of the City was a very good introduction into the layout of Madrid. I would have enjoyed more of the City, and could have traded-off the 30 minutes at the Hard Rock Café for 15, and another 15 on the road.

The City Tour was ok. It's a good overview of Madrid. The tour was in Spanish and English and the switching back and forth was a little distracting. The best part was the Prado tour. It was a small group and we hit all the highlights of the museum. The tour guide did an excellent job with explaining each painting.

Loved the tour... It was really hot be prepared to stay hidrated!! Prado tour is really precise!

Very good. A bit rushed, but worthwhile. Our guide was excellent

We were very unhappy with this tour although the bus and driver were fine. The tour guide was pleasant but left no time for questions...... perhaps because it was a bilingual tour........regardless, it was very frustrating. It was also a complete waste of time to drive to soccer stadium. In addition, you should be embarrassed to leave people at the Columbus Square when stopping for a drink at the Hard Rock Cafe. It is dirty and has NO ambiance. In all of Madrid wasn't there a more pleasant place for people to wait if they didn't want the free drink? However, the worst part is that we understood there would be a break for a self-funded lunch before the Prado tour started. Since we ate breakfastat 7 AM it was completely unacceptable to wait until 2:30or later to eat lunch, so we decided to skip the guided tour.
This tour was a complete waste of money!!

City sightseeing was just ok. Lots of time on the bus. Would have liked more stops rather than taking pictures from the bus. Skip the Line at Prado was well worth it. Skipped the loooooog line. Also guide took us in and guided us to the most famous works which was great, and then were left on our own to look at our leisure. Spent several hours there, magnificent! Great Café too. Had a wonderful lunch.

Good city tour. Liked the Prado guide. She definitely knew the history.

Good way to avoid the heat and to get an architectural overview of Madrid, one of the greenest major cities in Europe. Very informative guided tour of Prado museum collection Flemish to Spanish period paintings. Look for the alternative version of the Mona Lisa!
Butch E, Jul 2017
Very good. Nicely paced trip by bus around el ciudad de Madrid! Gave us many ideas about places and sights in Madrid to go back to on our own. It was a pleasure to skip quickly in the Prado. This museum is gorgeous, so rich and textured, the best we have visited recently, even more so than the Louvre in Paris.
Arnie H, Jul 2017
The bus tour was lackluster and disappointing. I recommend one language only. It breaks it up too much when the tour guide needs to go and forth in English and Spanish. The Prado tour guide was excellent but too short of time and also the dual language is not good.
Christine R, Jul 2017
This tour gave us a good quick overview of Madrid. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Madrid and the paintings at the Prado. Just make sure that you stick to the given deadlines for breaks - the tour guide does not wait for you! Tardy tourists are simply left behind.

Our family of five enjoyed this tour. We like the fact that it included walks through key sites, but also the comfortable bus taking us across the city in a hot day. Our tour guide Manuel Manolo was a seasoned expert on all things Madrid and he made the tour very interesting. Our family was the only one that day to buy the Prado guided tour, so we had a great private tour of the museum. We spent about 1 hour and a half at the museum, which was the perfect amount of time for our family not to get too tired. The only thing I would change is I would split the tour, have the sightseeing, then break for lunch and then do the museum. Which I believe it is how it is advertised, but not how they did it the day we went. All in all a very good experience, well worth it!

Not relay into museum's but it nice to tour for an hour or two

A comfortable paced tour and nice way to end the day browsing through the Prado. Make sure your guide takes you to see the copy of the Mona Lisa. You can get up close and personal with this one!

The tour started from the Julia Travel office, not the easiest place to find for one brand new to the city. The city sightseeing was Ok. If that is what you're looking for, another tour might be more comprehensive, but our focus was on the Prado section of the tour, and that was excellent. Our guide was personable, knowledgeable, and took us flawlessly through the maze of rooms to the highlights of the Prado collection. He spent 90 minutes with us and we were able to stay on to explore more masterpieces on our own. A very good art experience.
PRASHAN_W, Apr 2017
Good walk through Madrid city along with a visit to the Prado Museum. No photos allowed inside the Prado Museum which is fair enough. Good way to start off Madrid.
Paul G, Apr 2017
This was a very enjoyable tour. Our guide Carmen was excellent. She was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. The tour gave us a good overview of the city with plenty of ideas of where to return and explore at our leisure. The organisation was efficient and it helped that only two languages were used English and Spanish. We could have had a complimentary Coke at the Hard Rock Cafe, but didn't want one coffee would have been preferable, but there wasn't time however, it was a welcome toilet stop. The highlight was the Prado museum. Carmen was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She focused on the key works and we learned a lot. We were able to stay after her tour was finished. Highly recommended.

Good tour to get your bearings in Madrid-- the city sightseeing tour is by bus, just to be clear. The stop at the Hard Rock hotel was interesting, they were clearly thrilled to have us there sarcasm : The free drink is basically orange soda. The tour of the Prado was fast and furious, but good, and they leave you there at the end to explore on your own after getting the highlights. The skip the line part was the best because the Prado always has a very long line at least every time I have been there

I have been on many Viator recommended tours and trips in various countries. All of them, thus far, have been excellently conducted as you can see from my previous reviews. However, the Madrid Combo: CIty Sighteeing and Skip-the-Line Pardo Museum Guided Tour organized by Julia tours was an ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF pardon the uppercase letters. The morning tour through Madrid was okay with limited stops, and most interesting sites the bull fighting ring for example were skipped. We stopped at Hard Rock cafe in Madrid for a break and I cannot fathom the reasoning behind this decision, especially in a city like Madrid with multiple historic markets and plazas. In the afternoon, we were taken to the Prado museum by a new guide, and were asked to wait at the Goya statue till she returned with our tickets. However, there was no sign of her after 1 hour. We finally bought tickets once again and toured the museum on our own, so much for the guided tour. We are very disappointed and strongly urge Viator not to arrange this trip or use Julia Tours in future. Extremely disappointed and feel completely cheated.

This was a very good tour except wish it was a tour with only only English speaking people on the tour. Isabel would talk in Spanish and then in English which could be confusing at times. We were met by Beatrice at rhe Prada Museum for our final destination. She was very informative and explained everything, but again it was in Spanish and English.
I wish we would have been told in the description of the tour that it ended at the Prada Museum instead of being taken back to our meeting place.
Ruth C, Jan 2017
This trip was a nice overview, but it was conducted in both English and Spanish. This was confusing for someone who does not speak Spanish and it definitely limited the amount of information that was related. I was told this tour could also possibly be a trilingual tour! My tour in Barcelona was much smaller and conducted only in English for a true informational tour.
Roger M, Dec 2016
The crowds and number of tours was too great for the time period allotted. Much waiting and unable to get close enough to see some objects and points of interest.
