Outstanding day with Emmanuel in Cinque Terre

We throughly enjoyed our day with Emmanuel exploring Cinque Terre with our pick up in Lucca. He’s extraordinary well versed in Italian history and the geography of the area. Excellent idiomatic English and a fun sense of humor. The choice of the three villages (with one other special stop with a spectacular panorama).to spend time in was spot on and gave us time to see the highlights of each one. Enjoyed the restaurant recommendation for lunch where the owner’s menu and wine selection of area vintages - finished off a perfect eight hour excursion.

Claudio was an exceptional safe driver and was well organized for our trip. He drove us first to Manarola and walked with us part way thru the village. He explained how to catch the ferry to Vernazza and gave us a meeting point there. It was a very beautiful ferry ride! Claudio drove us to Corniglia and walked us into town where he made a lunch reservation at a very nice restaurant. He again arranged where to meet us after lunch and we explored the village for a little bit. The last village we explored was Monterosso for only a short time as our excursion time was ending. Monterosso had a beach for swimming. We were somewhat too aggressive with the schedule trying to fit in 4 of the 5 villages. Having your drivers “what’s app” number was key to make any changes or if you want to shorten your time in a certain village. Claudio was professional, interesting and an excellent tour guide for the day!

Allesio was wonderful! He drove us to Cinque Terre , then along the various towns. He dropped us off in the first town and recommended that we take the ferry. He took us to lunch at a fabulous restaurant. He also told us about his favorite gelato place.

Do NOT book this tour - the tour write up is totally false!

The write up for this tour is totally false. You only get transportation and a driver. When you are on your way, you are told that if you want a tour guide, you need to pay extra 200 Euros. If you say yes, the driver suddenly becomes “a tour guide.” The driver is just a driver and shares nothing about the culture or the history of Cinqueterre. Also, the itinerary is also false. You get to at most do 2 of the 5 locations. It is impossible to visit all 5 sites from Lucca in an 8 hour slot.

My dear Mr Wilfredo Sotolongo, May I respectfully declare that whatever can be considered as false those are your declarations. I personally took care and exchanged ALL correspondence with you in the past days and have all records of it. First of all you booked a tour where the pick up point WAS NOT Lucca but way farther and we agreed on the pick up location rightfully requesting an extra charge as it was approximately 1 hrs driver more which OBVIOUSLY reflected on the itinerary we were going to do. Moreover we HAD TO adapt the itinerary as another vehicle was following us and hence completely changed what our normal itinerary is as private vehicles have NO access to any of the Cinque Terre towns so any variations were done to meet your needs as your private vehicle COULD NOT access where ours could. We had to avoid some areas so you wouldn’t get a fine. Initially upon your doubts and request we shared the info on Viator about the tour description where it was CLEARLY stated that NO WALKING GUIDE was included. We offered to provide a guide on site at the very last minute at the extra cost of €200 which you AGREED to pay and DID NOT pay at the end of the tour. Our driver DOES NOT become a guide but is a REGISTERED and OFFICIAL guide with experience which is something I also indicated to you in our correspondence and to which you had no objections and it seemed to us to be the best solution as he would be with you the entire day. (we attach his certificate) You visited Manarola and our driver/guide was with you at all times and also indicated a good place where you could enjoy lunch. In Riomaggiore our driver/guide had to do a shuttle service to get all of you in town as you private car was NOT allowed to park where ours could and the driver/guide indicated a good spot to park. He also gave you a meeting point to get the ferry but you didn’t turn up in time if not to return back to the vehicle and hence missed the part of the ferry which would have probably allowed you to visit another town. At the end of the the tour you offended our driver and our professionalism that we provide successfully for 20 years. It’s the first time we encounter such as disrespectful person willing to damage professionals that work with passion. We don’t need 200 Euro and either people like you. We will proceed legally as what you described is fake and offensive.

What a beautiful place we visited all 5 villages just breath takingly gorg highly recommended especially in the sunshine which was shining. Montirosso is just fabulous proper nice beach vibe there, full of life. Really enjoyed, you take the ferry in trip which is 25€ for 2 stops like we did per person. Great day had by all. 5 stars 🌟

Our driver was very friendly and prompt. He explained our options for traveling through Cinque Terra. We decided to take the ferry which was the best option for time and scenery. Cinque Terre is very crowded and touristy. I am glad I saw it but I wouldn’t go back.

Stefano was a fantastic guide. He picked us up at our villa (no easy task) & drove us up to Cinque Terre. We have a car but are so glad we had a professional driver. The roads are extremely steep & winding. Parking is nearly impossible so it was great to relax & enjoy the day. Instead of going to the main tourist areas, Stefano took us to the less crowded but beautiful town of Porto Venere. There was an open market in the square & cute shops along the alleyway. We caught a ferry to Vernazza, where Stefano had made us a lunch reservation. The restaurant was fantastic & had beautiful views of the water. The seafood & local wine were delicious. We were so glad to have the reservation, as the town was PACKED with tourists. From there we drove to another small town. Here we met the owner of the tour company (the guy in the picture). He was great as well. After a short walk we had views up & down the coast - a great spot for pictures. We found another great shop here as well. Stefano had cold water for us which was welcome. We were tired & it was time to head home. Throughout the drives, Stefano gave us historical & current information that helped us better understand the region. The only minor issue was that we wish we had been advised to bring bathing suits & towels. A swim would have been a fun adventure. Stefano also gave us advice for some of our future activities. On the whole, we felt we saw the best of Cinque Terre with an insiders edge. I highly recommend this tour.
