The guide didn't build any personal connection with us at all. It felt like listening to a history teacher's lecture at school. She would talk about historic events without shutting up or pausing for questions. If we asked a question, she talked over us before we finished the question, gave a rushed answer to a question we didn't ask, turned around and moved on, while continuing talking away from us. At one point our group just split up into multiple sub-groups who decided to stop by the attractions they wanted to check out on their own - sign of a great tour.

Good morning, Sir😀 I feel disappointed for your feedback😞 Actually I make pauses when I walk and in that way people can ask me questions, unless I have to give information (reason why probably I did not understand that someone was asking me questions). Generally I ask other people to repeat questions if I do not understand. The multiple sub-groups are not a real thing, but if you would like to visit something extra you could ask me. It was only ok! we were expecting a little more she said it would last 2 hours and she cut it short because she had another tour at eleven. Before that we had a long coffee stop which we could have taken at the end. Otherwise we enjoyed it.

Not a city tour only a wall tour

The tour is not actually a walking tour of the city and its walls, but only a tour pretty much focused on the walls. The guide was nice and agreed to walk to the cathedral, but, for the rest, I haven't seen much of the city itself. The guide was a nice, good girl, but she didn't have a story to tell and she explanations were kind of superficial. Only few words per subject. I am sorry to say that the tour was neither interesting nor entertaining. I still tipped the guide with 20 euros, as she was very accommodating with my requests.

Buongiorno, Ieri le avevo anche inviato un messaggio in cui affermavo che a dire il vero ci sono rimasta un po' male di quello che mi ha scritto riguardo al tour. Il tema erano principalmente le Mura e la loro storia: infatti si tratta di tour che a Lucca sono effettuati pochissime volte o addirittura mai. Del Centro Storico le ho parlato assai della Cattedrale, un po' della Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Servi, di Piazza Santa Maria Foris Portam, dell'anfiteatro, di San Frediano, delle Porte Medievali, di Via dei Fossi e di Piazza San Francesco. Abbiamo anche osservato Palazzo Pfanner da sopra le Mura. Tra l'altro le ho parlato anche di alcune leggende come San Martino e il Povero, il Volto Santo e Santa Zita e le ho mostrato alcune cose a cui tante persone non fanno caso, come l'antica Porta est delle Mura Romane e il bassorilievo della chiesa di Santa Maria Foris Portam. We were late and called Anna to tell her we would be. She waited for us which was very nice but then took that time off tour. We had 11 am tour, arrived at 11:30ish and she ended at 1:30 because she had another tour coming up at 2p, so totally understand. Thanks to her for waiting for us! Tour was informative. People with us had been to Lucca before so not as eye opening to them but we enjoyed the tour and we had a great day to walk around.

We were looking forward to this English language tour, but it turned out that it was us and two Italian people. The guide spent most of the tour speaking we then and we had to keep asking her what she had just said to them. We actually made our excuses and left this tour partway through.
