Truly a special day of Learning

Richard was amazing and took the time to really understand what we were looking for on a tour. After 3 days of seeing London and the usual tourist must visits we booked with Richard on the 4th day for a hidden London walking tour. Short he truly is an encyclopedia of knowledge with a real love love of history. It really showed through every stop we had. From the shop of the royal tailor to the King to the 2000 year old Roman alter under a small church to the streets Charles Dickens was inspired by he knew them all……… if you’re looking for a private tour and up for a day of learning look no further. Scam, Scam, Scam. Didn’t want to pick us up. Wanted us to pay for underground transportation. Only contacted us day before even though it was supposed to be customizable. No transportation even thought we have smaller kids. And No Refund. Lost 500 dollars because the add was misleading and the operator didn’t care. I’ve used Viator for many tours by far the worst. Lost the money and no tour and no recourse.

According to Trip Advisors own Guidelines, they do not publish reviews with accusations of fraud, therefore this review breaks their own guidelines and shouldn't be published due to the word Scam used. This is really sad, and unfair. A petty revenge review, by someone who has not even been on my tour, and cancelled it themselves with less than 24 hours notice! This lovely person booked a London in a Day tour, and the tour/transport modes are stated as Walking/Subway, (Not a Vehicle Tour.) They booked for 4 Adults. No mention anywhere of children, and no note to inform me. I imagine this person only realised THEIR mistake the day before travel, and got an ear full from their partner. I sent a message to confirm the tour and arrange to meet them at Green Park Station, or if they needed assistance, I could come to their Hotel in Southwark and meet them there. I got a fairly polite response confirming they could meet me there. This is obviously the point when he realised his mistake, and sent some rude and blunt messages demanding transportation, or he would cancel etc etc. I pointed out to him the type of tour he had booked and sent evidence direct from Viator/Trip Advisors website. My last message to this charmer was to say that it was such a shame HE was cancelling. (NOT ME) I pride myself on making sure people have a wonderful time in London and I would have done exactly the same for him and his group. This customer is angry because he booked the wrong tour. He didn't give me a chance to make the best of his own mistake and let me guide his family on a memorable day. Cutting the nose off to spite the face. For everyone else reading this review. Look at all the 100% five stars I have and the glowing recommendations I am extremely proud of, and you will see this was sadly someone wanting to vent over their own mistake. And instead of working with me to rescue the situation and make a great day anyway, He cancelled on me. Not the other way around.

Perfect Day in London

Dad and I only had one full day in London before we flew home to the States so I was looking for a private all day walking tour of the major sites. I found Richard's bespoke private tours through Viator and his description and price were perfect! Richard was easy to communicate with between the booking and tour. He asked about our interests so that the tour would meet our desires. He was right on time to pick us up at our hotel and could not have been more friendly throughout the day. He walked at our pace, took tons of photos for us, answered all our questions from history to current events and even made sure we got to see the changing of the guard. He took breaks when we needed them and after seven hours when we were walked out he escorted us back to our hotel. My 81-year old Dad that morning had said he wasn't sure if he wanted to go since it looked rainy, but a couple of hours into the tour he gave me an A+ for finding Richard. Dad and I travel a lot and books lots of tours. Richard's tour was one of best and best value we have experienced. I highly recommend! Camille
