Itinerary

Choose a convenient evening start time and meet your guide near Trafalgar Square for a journey through the city’s gruesome history. Board the ghost bus—a 1960s Routemaster with its own dark history—grab a seat in the shadowy lower or upper deck, and peek out the window as your coach winds through the sinister streets of the capital city.

With such a long and bloody history, many of London’s most esteemed landmarks—such as the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral and London Bridge—come with a side of infamy and mystery. Pass the Tower of London, where many tyrants (and the occasional innocent) met their death by ax, and Westminster Abbey to learn about the ancient royal tombs that were discovered there.

As you ride, hear chilling tales of London’s most prolific hauntings, deadliest diseases, and most depraved characters. Keep your wits about you as your guide recounts the Whitehall Mystery, a grisly murder case from the 19th century where neither the victim nor the killer were ever identified. Hear chilling tales of the black dog of Newgate Prison and of Sweeney Todd, the demon barber (and butcher!) of Fleet Street.

Your tour returns to the departure point with plenty of time to grab food or drink to warm your chilled soul.

A ton of fun

Rory_L, Jul 2026
Fun tour - learned some spooky history and got a quick and breezy round of the city's landmarks with darker legends. Tour host "Cedric" was utterly fantastic - an absolutely hilarious and entertaining performer who 1000% made the tour worth taking.

We had such a fun time on this tour. It was funny (cheesy so of the time) but learned a lot of the history of the city.

Fun and unique!

Miranda_r, Jul 2026
A fun way to learn about the history of the city. Our guide, Scar, was an amazing actor and had my kids (11 & 13) laughing.

An amazingly spooky tour!

Micah_B, Jul 2026
Scar was absolutely amazing! Not only was the tour entertaining, we learned some awesome (and creepy) London history. Would recommend to anyone! Scar made it spooky, funny, and informative! Loved it!

A definite must do

Karen_M, Jun 2026
Do not miss this tour if you are in London it's a definite must. Our guide Stan was definitely the man. Thank you for giving us an interesting tour with lots of information

Campy and fun

Wonderful time.

Meh….it was HOT

Beth_M, May 2026
The bus has no AC and is scorching hot! You’re likely to die on the tour from heatstroke. But the guide was funny and we enjoyed almost the rest of the tour. The end was super cheesy though, they really need another better ending than a dumb movie with no point to it.

What a ghostly tour!

Laurin_W, May 2026
This tour was so entertaining and the guide was wonderful. He would go up and down the stairs and kept everyone engaged! I highly recommend taking this tour!

Disappointed

Sharon_E, May 2026
For the cost we expected more than 55 minutes and the bus we should have had was not available so on another where sound system didn’t work. Red hot and stuffy, we were disappointed

Good but hot

Jennifer_H, May 2026
The host of the tour was upbeat and friendly. However the bus is NOT air conditioned, which made for a VERY hot experience. Also the windows barely open. This is a very old bus.

Nice way to see London

50Mlwyddoed, May 2026
Following a last minute mix up with our booking I contacted customer services, who were excellent in both response time and in actually resolving the problem. The tour itself was interesting and highlighted a number of things which were new to me. Thank you.

Fun, but could be so much more

Holly_W, May 2026
Ben the guide was excellent. London is a city with thousands of stories, the ones chosen for this tour left us pretty lacking. There is so much material they could use but for some reason the tour relies on pre-recorded videos and a full on ‘séance’. Keep the jokes, but cut the padding and just tell us about the ghosts of London.

Entertaining experience!

Jiannie_L, Apr 2026
The guide is quite entertaining, unfortunately the sound system isn’t the best and we had difficulty hearing what she was saying at times. There were some facts shared and there was some acting. Overall it was fun.

We booked months in...

Savannah_S, Apr 2026
We booked months in advance and were really excited. On the day of, we messaged them letting them know we would be a few minutes behind given the strike going on in the subway. We didn’t get a respond nor a notification saying the message was read. As we were pulling up to the meeting stop, literally 1 minute after our meeting time, the bus was pulling away. The bus that was behind them said we would have to contact customer service to book another day. We didn’t get a response from anyone, the communication is poor.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Hi there, I am so sorry to ear about this experience. Could you please get in contact with me at the Ghost bus tours by emailing me at booking@theghostbustours.com so I can assist by rectifying this situation to make sure you enjoy a evening on the Necrobus. Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind regards The Ghost bus team

Off the beaten path

Brian_M, Apr 2026
Hugh Faquer was exceptional. He was very engaging and humerous. Great history for those that have met a gruesome end in London. A lot of tongue in cheek and groan producing statements kept things fun. Highlybrevommend for those looking for something off the beaten path. Just don’t sit where they would store the dead bodies like we did. I think we brought a spirit back to our hotel with us. We’ll be leaving that with them when we retirn to the states. Thanks again, Hugh. Boo!

Spooky London activity

Amanda_A, Apr 2026
Our host scar made this excursion very fun and entertaining. Me and my partner had a great time and appreciated the experience.

Waste of time and money

Stephen_S, Mar 2026
We booked this as a way to drive around London, see sites where questionable activities may (or may not) have taken place; fully expecting a tongue in cheek narrative. This tour simply drove down a few streets, maybe in circles; and the guide told nonsensical stories. No attempt at pointing out significant geographical markers, sites or buildings. Boring and dumb. Waste of money and time.

Not a Lot of Ghost Stories

Katherine_D, Mar 2026
The guide was great. Very engaging and great actor. However, I expected a lot more ghost stories considering how old London is. I have done quite a few ghost tours in the US that had more stories to share.

Bus ghost tour 28/3

Harri_C, Mar 2026
Overall the tour was good, could do with a few more ghost stories, but some great history knowledge and Ben was a good ‘conductor’, very entertaining, there was never a quiet or dull moment (unless Ben was possessed)

Chuck_R, Mar 2026
Our tour guide, Ben, did a great job highlighting haunted London sites. I learned quite a few interesting things about the darker side of London's history. Thank you. Definitely worth it!!

A great evening!

Ellen_B, Mar 2026
Stan was an absolute gem! He was animated and informative and then was never a dull moment! Cannot say enough good things about the tour. Highly suggest taking this!

Very entertaining! Our guide Ben was very entertaining and made sure we had room on the top of the bus for the best experience!

This wasva quirky and interesting tour. Stories were good to listen to and the host did a great job to try and keep us entertained.

This was a lot of fun!...

Tammy_C, Mar 2026
This was a lot of fun! The stories were silly and the guy telling them was good. We enjoyed it. The Sherlock Holmes bar across the street is a perfect place to head after!

Lourdes_D, Mar 2026
Great experience as our tour guide Ben was funny and a fun story teller. Great way to see London at night and learn some fun stories and facts about the city and its history.

The wheels on the bus

Peter_M, Mar 2026
A lively tour but not made any easier given there were only four of us on the bus. Harry did well to keep it going! Over lengthy stop near St Bart’s and an early finish after an hour slightly disappointed but still good value overall. Ruth was literally done to death. Can’t help but think more passengers would have helped spirits (get that one Harry ?)

Lots of fun

Sarah_C, Mar 2026
Was great fun. Really enjoyed. Brought a sense of humour, historical facts and ghost stories. Highly recommended

Do not recommend

Leslie_C, Mar 2026
This is not your typical ghost tour. While the atmosphere was set well the experience ended there. What few ghost stories were told were not told well. It seemed like they were trying for humorous, but it fell flat. It ended up being a bus ride with an annoying guide.
