- Please make sure to bring with you to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum, ID or PASSPORT, because the guards will ask about it before enter. Without it, you will not be able to enter the museum.

The tour was great, but the van that we traveled with was too crowded. My husband and I had to sit up front t with the driver. I was in the middle and my legs were crammed against the gear shift. A short commute would have been okay, but our commute was almost an hour long.

We booked a 10am slot 5 weeks before our trip as we had planned a long day the day before which meant we also had time for breakfast.
The day before we received a message saying we were getting picked up at 5:55 am. The reason being was because that was the only time that was available that day ??
We were picked up by our driver Robert on time from our Hotel and he really friendly and chatty.
He provided us with lots of history information about our trip.
When we arrived at Auschwitz we were put in a group of 30 and entered with our guide at 7:40am. It was busy even at that time of the morning. Some of the time you are having to walk in single line up and down stairs before entering a room as you were passing other groups. We found our guide often talked about pictures or objects as soon as entering a room and did not allow enough time for everyone in our group to be present. There was not enough space for us all with other groups too.
Personally the group size should be smaller or maybe better if we didn’t enter a room until the group in front had left.
The tour itself was informative and there were lots to see.
I would like to add we did visit in July (a busy time of year) and I guess they try and book as many people on the tour as possible.
After our tour at Auschwitz we stopped for a 15 mins break. There were long toilet queues.
We ended up ordering a lunch box which was £12 each the day before which was recommended by our tour provider as there was not much food or refreshment places available. Our driver gave us our lunch boxes and was of good quality and plentiful.
Our driver then took us to Birkenau which was 3 miles up the road where we met up with our same group and guide. Again there was lots to see and our guide was informative. I would like to add that you see only where your guide takes you. We were not taken to the memorial but was told about it even though we could see other groups visiting.
On our journey back to our Hotel, Robert our driver answered lots of questions. His vast knowledge gave us an insight into the camps and a good understanding of before, during and after the war.
We learned a lot from him.
Overall I gave the tour 3/5 due to the short notice of change of time of our pick up and the fact that the tours were rushed and the size of the groups too large.
I would recommend the tour and is well worth the visit however would be best out of season when it may be a little quieter.
And we couldn’t have asked for a better driver, maybe he should have been our tour guide.

The pickup window shown in our offer is only an estimated timeframe. The exact pickup time is confirmed the day before the tour because the Auschwitz Museum assigns entrance times to all tour operators shortly before the visit. Unfortunately, we have no influence over these allocations, and we must adjust our schedule accordingly. On the day of your visit, the Museum assigned us an early entrance time, which is why your pickup was earlier than initially estimated.
Regarding the guided tour, all Museum guides, group sizes and routes are managed exclusively by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum. Tour operators cannot choose the guide, reduce the group size or alter the official route. During the busy summer season, the Museum welcomes thousands of visitors each day, which can make some areas feel crowded and the schedule more intensive.

The pick up time was switched from 8am to 6am, with less than 24 hours notice, which wasn't good for us. We discovered that one of the seat belts at the back of the vehicle wasn't working. The driver was polite but didn't engage in any conversation during the journey and no background music in the vehicle. The woman taking us around Auschwitz seemed in a rush and hurried us through both camps at break neck speed. Although she provided information about how the concentration camps operated, we didn't feel she conveyed the human stories very well. We've previously visited another concentration camp near Berlin and the guide there brought the whole experience to life with his animated descriptions and slower pace. With that comparison in mind, this was a bit of a disappointing experience for us. We do think it is important to visit Auschwitz for educational / historical reasons, but it could have been much better with a different guide at the camp.

We would like to clarify that our company does not offer guaranteed pickup times. The pickup time shown at the time of booking is an estimated timeframe only. The exact pickup time is confirmed the day before the tour because the Auschwitz Museum allocates entrance times to all tour operators shortly before the visit. Unfortunately, we have no influence over these allocations, and on the day of your visit we were assigned an earlier entry slot, which resulted in the 6:00 AM pickup.
We also sincerely apologise regarding the seat belt. Guest safety is our highest priority, and we will inspect the vehicle immediately to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
Regarding the Museum guide, all guides inside the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum are licensed Museum guides assigned directly by the Museum. Tour operators unfortunately cannot choose the guide, influence their presentation style or pace, or determine the size of the groups. We understand that every guide has a different approach, and we’re sorry to hear that this particular style was not what you had hoped for, especially compared with your previous experience elsewhere.

As WW2 history buffs, this visit has long been something we wanted to do. We were not disappointed in the organization and efficiency of the tour. Of course, we would have liked more time to read the displays, but the guide was very intentional with the time we were given and led us through the camps in a way that made sense and told the story. The tour is emotionally hard if you allow yourself to be still and soak in the commentary and images in the setting. We have seen so many movies, documentaries, and images from these camps and to experience them first hand was very moving.

As you mentioned, there is a considerable amount of walking, some stairs and, during peak season, large numbers of visitors 👟🚶. On exceptionally hot days, the Museum may occasionally adjust or shorten certain parts of the guided route for the comfort and safety of visitors, as these decisions are made by the Museum staff.

The driver could be more friendly and patient. Came at 6:50 and couldnt wait for 2-3 minutes (the instructions mention pick up between 7-10). Additionally we only had 10 minutes break for lunch, toilet, breath from walking 2+ hrs (on a 33-35○C heatwave). Also some more coordination is beneficial, ie not leaving behing team members. The guide on the other hand was amazing! fabulous! Expert in his job! Very informative and patient!

Regarding the pickup time, the estimated window shown at the time of booking is only an indication. The exact pickup time is always confirmed the day before the tour, once the Museum assigns the final entrance time. Drivers must follow a very strict schedule to ensure all guests arrive at the Museum on time, especially during the busy summer season ⏰🚐.
We also understand your comments regarding the short lunch break, particularly during the 33–35°C heatwave ☀️🥵💧. Unfortunately, the timing of breaks and the overall itinerary are determined by the Museum’s fixed schedule and entry times, which leave very limited flexibility.

The tour guide at the museum was hard to understand, and rushed to finish. We’ve heard other guides next to us giving way more information. Transportation was on time and no issues. Thank you our driver Arthur. I guess there is no way to know who will be your guide at the museum up until the last minute. Overall we saw what we went for, not an easy experience but we kind of knew what to expect.

Lukasz turned up bang on time and was a very good driver. The tour itself was Auschwitz first which took 2 hours and after a packed lunch break and a 10 minute drive, Birkenau next which took slightly less time. Our small party of around 9 people had the same tour guide for both sites and she was excellent. She provided an audio commentary through headsets at Auschwitz but at Birkenau you have to gather round as no headsets here. At the outset you have to go through airport style scanners and take your driving licence or passport to confirm your I.D. The tour is very moving which I expected. I wanted to see the scale of these camps; I knew they were huge but once you see both sites with your own eyes and hear the numbers of innocent men, women and children that were murdered by the Nazis, it’s industrial scale crime. There’s loads of tours available but I’d recommend this company 100%.

Where this is a somber experience listening to all the facts about what happened. It is a great tour. I would recommend it to anyone that would really like to know more about what happened. There is a lot of walking so be prepared with water and Kleenex, because it can be a little emotional, at least it was for my family. Great reminder of what has happened in the past to prevent it in the future.

The trip went exactly as described. The driver met us in the morning, drove us to Auchwitz, hooked us up with our tour guide for the day and brought us back to Krakow. We purchased the hearty bagged lunch for an additional fee which was well worth it. Highly recommend!

The site and the history are incredible and should not be missed. Our specific tour guide did a poor job of making sure we could hear him. There is also a lot of walking required. The guide did a poor job of keeping the group together and ensuring we all had the same experience. Our driver, on the other hand, was great.

Tomasz picked us up from our airport hotel as arranged and was a wealth of knowledge. He made sure we all arrived on time and came with us through the gates to make sure we were in the right spot. Explained which bus and where to go to have the best experience possible. Highly recommend Tomasz as a tour guide for this experience. Time was tight between tours so he offered a lunch option, which i highly recommend. It was a great deal and had great options!

Highly recommend taking the tour. The whole morning was extremely well organised and communication was excellent in the lead up. We found booking with the tour took the challenging logistics out of getting there, booking tour tickets etc and transporting between the two camps. The tour was extremely well done. It was informative and highlighted the many atrocities that happened at the death camps, while making it seem real thru the written testimonials from survivors and pictures of those who died with the dates of their internment. We first toured Auschwitz and after a short break Birkenau. Despite the crowds, we moved quickly through the sites and each group had its own turn in the rooms visited so we got to see each display up close. We liked that we were picked up at our hotel and tcould purchase lunch boxes - it just simplified the trip so much. Highly recommend the tour company and experience.

Although transport groups are kept smaller, the guided tours inside the Museum are organised directly by the Museum itself, where several transport groups are often combined into larger official guided groups due to visitor numbers and Museum scheduling ⏰.
