Went to the Wieliczka salt mine at the last minute dur to our Auschwitz tour being cancelled. We were not disappointed. Booking was a breeze, communication with the tour company was also good. Our driver Michal was a great guy, spoke fluent English and picked us up at the pick up location agreed. All in all highly recommend using this company

Excellent trip, well organised timings. The guide gave clear information during the tour and pointed out a lot of the features and history via headphones. Lots of walking through well lit tunnels, slowly enough that there was time to enjoy everything on the way around. The sculptures and large chambers were very impressive.

The salt mine was very cool to see. On the tour you will be told about the option to take the stairs out of the mine, however due to the tour you will not have time to do so and so will not be able to. Instead you will have to ride the elevator which is pretty fast at getting you to the top.

A truly stunning experience

Amazing experience to witness this unique place. The bus arrived at the designated pick-up point in good time. One thing to watch out for however, is that the driver tends only to call out first names of the lead person and certainly in the case of our tour, didn’t check tickets on boarding the bus. (I believe this is a fairly common practice as another tour we did with another operator was similarly run). On arriving at the final pick-up, we had 2 more people on board the bus than expected. Fortunately the bus had 2 additional seats at the front next to the driver so everyone was accommodated and off we went but it was only when we reached our destination that it transpired the additional 2 people had boarded the wrong bus and thought they were going to another location entirely! Fortunately I understand they managed to purchase tickets on the day and joined us on the tour before being dropped back to their intended location on the return journey but this unfortunate oversight would have been avoided had tickets been checked on boarding the bus. On arrival at the mine, our group were joined by another similar sized group from another bus for the approx 2 hour guided tour of the mine. The tour required considerable walking, starting with around 300 stairs down to the mine floor, along various tunnels and a further 200+ stairs down to reach lower levels but was not particularly onerous. The tour was well paced and our excellent guide (Kristophe?) would stop regularly to explain points of interest, while keeping the group together to avoid clashing with other groups. Fortunately the return to the surface is by lift/elevator!

What a great experience, the bus collected us in the city centre, the driver Pawel was very informative, he informed the group what the day and tour would look like, he stayed with us until the tour began. The guide was brilliant, great information was relayed to the group throughout. The saltmines were so impressive, there is a lot of walking and stairs to access. Interesting trip but not enough time

The salt mines were really interesting and worth visiting but very busy. The guide in the mine was very well organised, informative and easy to hear because of the headphones. The price of the tour included a ticket to the museum (underground) but in reality there was no time built into this trip to allow time to visit it. We did not hang around after the end of the tour but still arrived 10 minutes late for the bus departure time. There are two lifts out of the mines the one we were sent to was a 15 minute walk underground and a 10 minute walk back to the carpark. I think if you can do this trip independently ( everybody has to be escorted by a guide) it would give you more freedom and time to learn more about the salt mines

Take a bottle of water with you and wear the comfiest shoes you have. Take advantage of the breaks for the toilet, and be prepared to walk 1km after the tour to the lifts back up. We had the best time on this tour, tour guide was absolutely fantastic, kept it so interesting and full of laughter too so we didnt get bored. Transfers to and from salt mine were smooth and easy so we didnt have to worry about a thing.

The Salt Mine tour itself is fantastic. Getting to right bus to get their a tad confusing. There were two busses with same number, one going to auschwitz and one to the salt mine. No signage etc for which was which.

Bus pickup location was...

Bus pickup location was very busy with other tours also meeting there but the driver managed to get everyone together, bus trip there wasn’t too long but time could have been used to inform us of other trips or what we might expect at the mine, we had a short wait before our group were given radio receivers so that we would be able to hear the tour guide during our tour, there was another short wait while the group in front descended the stairs into the mine. The mine tour was good with 2 or 3 rest stops at places of interest. The exit was long winded but it gave people time to spend in the gift shops or the restaurant, but then we had to queue I assume so that we left the mine in the same group order that we descended, the ascent is by lift but it was about a 20 minute walk to the lift through a long passage way, then when we ascended we were in a totally different area with no obvious signage to get back to where the bus had dropped us off Dover had to wait a few minutes till the mine guides appeared and showed us the way back.

A very unique experience in a place like no other. Lots of walking but fortunately it’s all downhill (you take a miner’s cage elevator back up). I loved the salt statues in the huge underground chapel that glowed when the light shined on them.

It was a lesson in Art , but to think the art is older than the country that I am from is amazing. Plenty of steps, and walking , so be prepared. Definitely worth a visit for the experience.

Great tour company but (not being salty!) the mines are a bit boring

Tour company was great. Clear communication via Whatsapp, prompt on time collection and drop off, lovely 6 seater vehicle used for transfer and Gregorz was waiting on us when we were finished. First class. The Salt Mines themselves were good but its all a bit samey after a whike. Don't get me wrong...the chapels and carvings are brilliant (so talented), the scale of the mine is mind blowing but we kinda got bored after seeing sculpture after sculpture. I reckon they could jazz it up a bit

Although the Salt Mine Tour was astounding in its complexity and sheer "how did they do that years ago" environment, it felt very scripted. This an awe-inspiring place but too many persons per group and some substandard audio/earbuds lead to missed information. Our driver had more personality than our tour guide. Overall, you need to take this tour if you're in Krakow, but don't come with too many expectations.

Really pleased to have done this trip. The mine was very impressive and the guide was excellent. Obviously enjoys his job! At the entrance to the mine there are a lot of steps but very easy and safe. Definitely worth visiting.

Excellent trip. Received email confirmation of pick up time and location day before the trip. Picked up from the hotel in an 8 seater mini coach. Driver was on time and very polite. Only 2 other pick ups within 5 minutes. Good journey there. Driver was very informative and stayed with us until the tour started. He provided his number so we could contact him when we had finished. Good journey back. If you are wondering if it’s worth a visit I would say definitely yes.
