Itinerary

After hotel pickup, your day trip starts with the drive north of the city to Emilia-Romagna, an Italian region home to sports car manufacturer Ferrari. When you arrive at Museo Ferrari, head inside with your pre-purchased ticket for an exploration of the museum's collection of both vintage and contemporary vehicles.

Learn about the evolution of the motor vehicle and the history of Ferrari, check out an exhibit dedicated to Formula 1, and see original drawings by founder Enzo Ferrari. If you're looking for a bit more adventure, you have the option at the museum to test drive a Ferrari (own expense), giving you the opportunity to cruise through central Maranello with a co-driver.

Then, head to the city of Bologna. Your driver drops you off near Piazza Maggiore for a bit of free time to explore sights such as the Basilica di San Petronio and the Fontana del Nettuno (Fountain of Neptune).

Your day trip ends with the drive back to Florence for drop-off.

The private tour was exceptionally well organized from start to finish. The drive to Maranello was smooth, and we appreciated the skip-the-line access to the Ferrari Museum. The museum itself was spectacular—beautifully curated and full of fascinating information. After our visit, we continued on to Bologna, where our driver recommended a wonderful local restaurant for lunch. It was an excellent choice, lively and authentic. Overall, a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend.

We had a great time with Placido! The F1 fans in my family loved the museum, and Placido gave us a lot of information about the sights and history of the area. Had a nice stop in Bologna, a beautiful little city. Highly recommend!

We really did want to see the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, and were happy to have gone. The challenge was the drive from Florence. I think if we were to do it over again, we'd maybe have taken the train to Bologna and arranged for a driver from Bologna to Maranello? We got stuck in a lot of traffic and felt like we spent way too much of our day in the sprinter bus, which although very nice, was a much longer round trip than I had planned. Because of the traffic, we lost a lot of the time we were hoping to spend in Bologna. Not anyone's fault, but I think it would have taken a great bit of time off the ground transportation and saved a bit of money to have done it this other way. Unfortunately we had never been to Florence and weren't sure what we were up against on the logistics. This was a good day, but really wish it had been less "on the road" time.

Cost is too much for what you will experience

The Ferrari museum and simulator were wonderful. There were lots of nice cars to see, and the experience was truly captivating for any car enthusiast. After the museum, we headed to Bologna for a late lunch, but unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to explore the city properly. However, I think the tour overall was expensive for what we saw and where we went, especially considering the ticket to the museum is not included in the price. While the exhibits were impressive, the cost might not justify the experience unless you are a die-hard Ferrari fan.

alejandro was extremely engaging, very knowledgeable and an excellent driver. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour. Also since it’s a private car they will work with you to build your own specific itinerary. Worth the money.

Osvaldo was hands down, the best private driver we have ever had while on vacation. He was so polite, knowledgable, funny, and professional. He gave us ideas for things to do while in Bologna and when he said he’ll be back in 2hrs…he was back RIGHT ON THE DOT. We had the best experience all day with him. Book and ask for Osvaldo!

We had a fantastic time on this private tour! Our driver/guide Christian was the absolute best! He mad the tour even better!!! The two factories are amazing! The simulator at the end in Maranello is a must for any tifosi fan!!!
