Buyer beware tour to Pisa

The best I can say is that we got there and got back. But we did see and climb the tower with a multilingual tour of the cathedral. The was time mismanaged. The tour guide on our bus really did not talk to the group to share information of the area during our drive. She passed out audio guides do we could hear the other tour guide for the cathedral. We had ‘skip the line’ passes, which she said she didn’t understand that we would even have them though that is what we (and others) purchased through the tour company. She also told us that it will only take 10min to climb the tower so we shouldn’t worry about missing the bus. We only had 45 min when she put us in the line. Then she said she used to climb stairs like this when she worked in an office building so we shouldn’t worry. Regardless of the additional traffic going up and back down. She did say she would leave those of us who had purchased the skip the line tickets for the tower if we didn’t show up to the meeting point on time. She would not wait. So we did not make it to the bell tower point for fear of her leaving us. On the way back the driver spent a good deal of time chatting on his phone, and a lot of yawning. Then the tour guide and driver were just chatting amongst themselves. The plus was we made it to Pisa, saw the leaning tower and cathedral fairly quickly. Not much time. No time to grab a snack, so pack your own. Also be prepared to spend a euro each for toilets. I’ve never given a negative review before, but this is a ‘buyer beware’ tour.

Had a little trouble finding our group at the meeting point. It was the meeting point for alot of tours. Our tour guide was awesome on the bus and the one walking us around was great as well. We were late to the meeting point to head back. Our tour guide waited on us and was very nice. He also gave us food recommendations!

Be careful what you’re booking as the options are very confusing. We thought we booked a tour including entrance to the leaning tower but excluding the cathedral and guide. No we basically booked a bus ride to Pisa. Should have caught the train.

When we arrived there was no one. A lady working for another company told us that our name was given to her in the morning and this tour is not offered in the winter afternoons. She said people buy tours from other companies and sell them to the actual apowrating tours. Read your reviews which I obviously did not
