Irina, our guide, was outstanding as she took us through the wonders of Bargello. Her knowledge of the subject matter was matched by her appreciation and passion for it. A great tour with a a fun teacher

Alda was awesome, so knowledgeable and fun to listen to. Her enthusiasm for her subject matter was infectious. We got to see all the highlights of the museum in a short time without feeling as if we had missed anything. We felt like students with a really fun teacher. Being a private tour allowed us to get as much as possible out of it. Highly recommended!

Irina is a briliiant tour guide and I received so much knowledge and information about the Bargello und the art exhibited in this wonderful place. In my opinion this place is a must to visit and especially with Irina as she tells the story and facts about the Bargello in a very vivid and fascinating manner that have kept my whole attention for the 2 hours of the tour. The way how Irina passes on the history iand explains the art and artists really comes to life and evokes the feeling of wanting to know more about the great time of the Renaissance and Florence.

Great and easy tour

The Bargello is a smaller museum that has some very special statutes. Alda was great and was very informative about the history behind the pieces. I originally was hesitant on if we needed this tour in our itinerary but am very glad we did this one! It is one you could do on your own, however I would not have learned as much by ourselves.

An important collection that is best experienced with a guide

A trip to the Bargello is integral to a visit to Florence. A guide is essential to contextualize the works and also helps to efficiently take you through to the central pieces within the museum. Our guide's infectious enthusiasm brought all the works to life, and she highlighted numerous details of each work that we would never have noticed on our own. It's also nice to have a guide who engages both an adult and a teenager and makes the art meaningful. Unless you have an advanced degree in renaissance and gothic art, you should get a guide and understand just what you're standing in front of. Bargello is one of the less busy museums (at least when we visited) so there is more time and space to linger and ponder.

Alda is an excellent tour guide. She is knowledgeable about history and art (she is an artist herself) and has great enthusiasm about Donatello’s sculptures, which were the focus of the tour. She also told us about the history of the Bargello, which was fascinating, and about the Medici dynasty. I highly recommend her as a tour guide.
