This small-group cooking class is led by Chef Alberto, who puts the focus on favorite recipes such as mole sauce and pork pibil. I want to start off with we got lucky and spoiled. When we showed up we were the only people who booked so it was basically a private chef experience. Which was AMAZING! We got to be so involved and his mother was hilarious and helpful. The food was so good. We made red and green salsa. The best Guacamole that Chef made spicy as we explained we love spicy everything. The only part that sucked is when you are staying at a resort where the minifridge is just filled with free booze you cant take it back with you. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. Get you into the real Cancun and enjoy local everything.
P.S. Look at what is being served on what day. I didn't do that but I love most foods so we were good to go.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Chef Alberto and his charming mother, Lili. The intimate home setting was warm and welcoming. We enjoyed the education and participation in making the dishes, and enjoyed even more, tasting the results. Fabulous!

If you love relaxing and enjoying good food at a friend’s house then this cooking experience is for you. My husband and I throughly enjoyed learning authentic Mexican recipies in Lilly and Alberto’s cosy kitchen. They were so very hospitable and easy to talk to. We will be making our own delicious pico de gallo, guacamole, verde and rojo salsa, chicken mole, peppers and onions, and tortillas at home after the excellent instruction we received.

Chef Alberto was great. He has a cozy kitchen where everything was well organized. We made 3 types of salsa, guacamole, rice, chicken and a fantastic mole sauce. The ingredient were fresh and my wife and I were actively involved in preparation, cooking and especially the eating.
Alberto was kind, talented and knowledgeable. He is following his passion which is fantastic.
We will do it again in 2026!

Chef Alberto creates a lovely morning with a tour of the market along and then a short ride to his house for a completely homemade meal. Together with his mother, Lily, we made guacamole and chicken mole. We pressed the tortillas with an old-school tortilla press and also enjoyed a refreshing mocktail. Their level of English was excellent and we really enjoyed our time in their quaint kitchen. It was one of the best things we’ve eaten in a while!!

Alberto was early to meet us and guided us through a fantastic local market. He answered all our questions about various spices and mole. Then he introduced us to a maize production business that provided fresh dough for tortillas. We had various food allergies in our group and he accomodated them without hesitation. He was so welcoming and cooking with him and his mom was the highlight of our trip. I cannot highly enough recommend learning and feasting with Alberto. You will not get this experience any other way.
