Overview

Steer a speedboat through lagoons and mangrove channels on a self-drive adventure from Cancún, and explore the vibrant coral reefs of a National Marine Park. Follow a guide boat along the coast, and through the sheltered mangrove forest. Skim across the waves then slip into the water for a guided snorkeling tour of a protected coral reef. Carlos was an excellent guide! We arrived early and he arranged it so we didn't have to wait which was great because the other people who were scheduled with us didn't show. Carlos gave us clear instructions for driving the boats and made sure we were OK during the ride out to the reef. I'm an inexperienced snorkeler and he helped me feel safe and comfortable the whole time. We saw tons of beautiful coral and fish! There's a cute tiki bar and small pool at the check-in location which we utilized upon our return as we waited for our transport back to our resort. The lime margarita was a perfect way to end a fantastic excursion!

The tour states it is 2 hours long. We started half an hour late and we finished early. There was no fish to see in the snorkeling section.

Choppy spoiled the ride

This is 2nd time doing this tour. This one was a speed boat straight to open sea for snorkeling. The water was choppy and it was a rough ride. The one we did a few years ago was through the mangroves and was more enjoyable. the guides were great but the choppy water did not make for a fun 90 minutes.

Family fun in the reefs

We went on the excursion with Jesus (our tour guide) and had Ana amazing time. The boats were fun and the snorkeling was amazing. We saw so many fish and colors and even saw a big sting ray.

Excellent fun. Easy to operate, perfect for our teens to drive and get the full experience. And exactly as advertised....driving super fast in speedboats, lots of opportunities to really tear it up, and some great snorkeling in between.

This was a lot of fun! It was the first time my wife and I had driven a boat and the guide gave great instructions, making it an enjoyable, experience. The snorkeling location is beautiful and we all had a wonderful time. Highly recommended.
