This was the first ever capital of Egypt, where all the history and what you see in Giza, Luxor and elsewhere started. Definitely a must do tour, if you are in Egypt. The guide, Intisar was the best guide that I have had ever since I have been here in Egypt. So knowledgeable, and approachable. She majored in History back in the university! Going up and down into the pyramid can be challenging physically speaking, so better prepare yourself for this surprise.

If you’re planning a tour in Egypt, you should definitely book it here. I highly recommend it. Whenever I had questions, they always responded kindly and did their best to help me. Thank you.

It was easy and pleasant trip. Very interesting historical sites and knowledgable operator. Was just right and not boring.

I didn't have a good experience with Emo tours. 1st I waited 35 min for the pick up, even when I was proactively contacted the company trying to find information. I had to get help from a Egyptian person to contact the company and be able to tell me that they are late. And of course I had to give money to that person.
When they arrived the guide told me that they inform the company fer the delay but didn't tell me.
The tour itself was ok. I had a way better guide the previous day with another company. In the price a bottle of water was included but never got one even though the guide assured me about it. I'm glad that I had brought mine because I really needed one after the hike. Driver was good and professional even though he didn't speak English. It might be an isolated event, but this is what I experienced.

Confirmation was prompt and the pickup was on time. I messaged the tour provider the day before, but they never responded. Upon arrival, the driver had to park at the end of the bridge because the Hilton didn't allow him to drive onto the hotel grounds. While he wasn't initially sure of the locations for two of the tombs, we found them after he asked for directions.
Note to future travelers: Bring your own water, as none was provided. I also paid a total of 50 EGP for parking at Saqqara and Dahshur. Additionally, the driver asked for 10 EGP to tip the guard at Dahshur; I gave him 50 EGP and told him to keep the change for other tips. I only witnessed him tipping once, though he claimed at the end of the tour that he had distributed the full amount to various guards.

It was a very nice tour with a great guide and driver. Pick up was on time and the tour guide was knowledgeable.

The guide was very nice but the trip was very confusing. A driver picked me up at my hotel and didn’t say anything. About a half hour later we picked up the guide. When we got to Saqara, the guide told the ticket agent what I wanted and I paid with a credit card. The guide took one of the tickets. Apparently I was paying for the car to enter. She never asked or told me. I noticed because the price of the tickets was different than the total. When we got to the second set of pyramids, the bent and red, the same thing happened again. When I asked her about it, she said it was only 25 Eqyptian pounds which is only about 25 cents. The other time I think it was 100. The money really wasn’t the point. It was the fact that I had already paid $65 for the car and driver. I contacted the tour operator and they said they would check. I never heard back from them.

We had a very nice time visiting Saqqarah Pyramids. Our driver was very friendly and helped us with everything. He was very flexible, even if sometimes we took longer on one site, he never rushed us and always told us to take our time and enjoy.
We recommend 100% !!

The best tour I made in Egypt (jan. 2026). My driver Eid was patient, helpful and nice. If you read something about Saqqara and Dahshur you can definitely spare your guide. Buy the all-inclusive ticket + pyramid, and you can spend all your time in saqqara. We skipped Menphis and in Dahshur just visited the red pyramid.

Wonderful half day tour to, Memphis,Sakkara, Dahshur. Our driver Ahmad was on time, spoke good English and is a very good and careful driver. He also gave us some pointers as we choose not to have a guide. If you can try and book him you will have a great tour.

Shout out to our driver Mahran or Marhan whatever his name is, he is doing amazing job, showing us around giving us lot of information about the place and teach us how to prevent scam. I will definitely use emotour service again!

This was an excellent value tour. The driver was very good and took us to all the sites. He was very accommodating in allowing us enough time at each site. Excellent!

We booked the option with driver only. Captain Saeed was amazing. Took us to all the good spots and helped us navigate all the sites.

The guide, Hazem, and his driver, Abdullah, gave us a very informative tour and tailored the itinerary to our interests.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend Emo tours, and here are my reasons why:
- My pick up at the hotel was 20 minutes late, and there was no mode of communication. I rang the support number several times but no one picked up. It was by chance that I saw that the driver was able to find me in the lobby
- We headed to the Sakkara temple complex which was uneventful
- Aladdin, the tour guide, was informative about the history of the step pyramid and showed led me inside Pyramid of Teti
- Aladdin was helpful with taking photos and had some good photo suggestions
However, this is where the tour takes a turn for the worse
- We have a quick walk around the complex, and Aladdin suggests skipping the Red Pyramid/Bent pyramid as there is nothing to see there, and instead going to museums with more interesting artefacts. Having trust in Aladdin, I accepted his advice (mistake)
- We go to these various museums in and around Cairo, which turn out not to be museums at all. There are no historical artefacts here - just shops designed to sell to tourists
- I have no doubt Aladdin received commission for this on the side
- No where are these shops described in the original itinerary
The frustration comes from the fact that time was taken away from actual sightseeing to be shown shops for financial gain of the tour guide Aladdin. We also did not complete the Shakkur site in hindsight, leaving most of the itinerary as described in the Agoda website unvisited.
I was warned of the infamous scam culture surrounding Egypt but I thought I would be safe with a well reviewed tour company. I paid $130 for this tour and regret booking with Emo tours. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this company to others.

Driver was excellent. Gave historical context, helped buy tickets, very flexible with time at destinations, and was on time in the morning. Highly recommend!

We went on several tours in Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and Abu Simbel. All were booked through Viator and most were subbed by Emo Tours, including this one. We did a driver only. I believe his name was Ahmed. (He wore a vest with "New Your Yankees" on the back). He was the absolute best. He acted as a tour guide, giving advice and telling us the best way to navigate each site. He went out of his way to make sure we knew about each site. At Sakkara, he had us go to the left of the temple first, see the tombs, and then enter the Tomb of Unas (small pyramid that looks like a mound to the back left of the temple). Absolutely beautiful tomb! Then go through the temple and to the step pyramid. He told us about the culture of Baksheesh and how it is ingrained and who to actually tip. By far our favorite guide!

Had a fantastic tour visiting Saqqara. My guide had a lot of great information to share and kept the tour moving at a very nice pace. Driver didn't say much, but did his job well. I was able to see so much on this tour. It really helped cap off my time in Cairo. A lunch was supposed to be included, never happened, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
Ruth_M, Nov 2025
Awful experience. The driver arrived late, and as soon as he saw I was a solo traveller lady, he started to take control over my day, my tour and experience. he was too much into chasing a good tip at the end of the day, he stop on the middle of the highway to take pictures. Drive is chaotic in Cairo, seem like it doesn’t make a difference to take risky decisions, but…. He overpass his only driver task. I contract this option because Saqqara and Memphis area is designed for tourist to pay and overpay. So there is no options to get there by yourself no other than having one of those scammers to walk you around. He keep trying to pretend he was a tour guide, again I only took the driver option because of many reasons, so instead of making me a favour he truly annoyed me. Once I. Saqqara complex I tried to buy a full entrance ticket he kept telling me not to do so, and mislead me with false information, because who knows why he was interested into getting to Dashour. He kept offering me to stop on the carpets schools close to Giza, obviously to buy carpets. I refuse that. Buying dates. Buying bananas. He kept making not only stupid, but even offensive discussions. So by this Saqqara ticket situation, I miss the main monument that I wanted to visit from the inside, not only that, because of my ticket someone on the monument shout at me, because he my ticket was not the right one to get there. I was quite conscious about his existance and his wellbeing, but the truth is, he and only him was the main character on my paid tour, my journey of that day and my overall experience. It was like being drives around by one of the AliBaba’s stealers. I’m not someone who usually takes tours or packages, and that experience has put me off from life. Ever again.
After Saqqara, I wait for him to have a tea on a drivers resting area. And he drive us to Darshour, still insisting on pretending to be a Egyptologist, meantime I was trying to check my notes for the day and visits, and as soon as we arrived to Dahshur I decided it was more than enough, he may get away with taking people’s money, but not my energy of time, so I asked him to return me to the hotel. I was not happy to expend another second in that situation that was taking me to a total dissspointment. He accepted it, but once on the car, he star asking, like the most toxic partnership ever. I eventually gave a hard time to keep myself in educated and adequate manners. I try to keep silence, and just answer with yes or not to him. He knew that tips will not even a possibility, so he keep begging for me not to do a bad review.
Mainly I find this situation to be my error, as you will never into a stranger’s car. So. What to say.

The guide spoke broken English which led to a misunderstanding and we missed a cite in the Saqqaro complex. Once we left we could not return. Other than that, the guide's English was understandable for the tour highlights and he was very friendly.

It is very hard to visit these sites by public transportation.
It saves time and keeps away from exhaust.
The guide was supportive and gave me many instructions.

Half day excursion to some of Cairos more remote antiquities and pyramids. Our guide was informative and added some strong commentary to the various site we visited be prepared for an extended drive to some of the remote sites where you will see some of Egypts more local life. We had a number of stops a various locations with information from or guide along the way.

Khalaf was an amazing host very friendly and knowledgeable! Mohammad was our driver and he was fun and helpful as well.
Carla_O, Nov 2025
The tour covered some truly amazing locations — Memphis, Sakkara, and Dahshur were all fascinating to see and offered a great glimpse into Egypt’s ancient history. Our guide and driver were both very nice and friendly, and they made the trip comfortable and enjoyable. However, we felt that the content of the tour was a bit shorter and less detailed than we had expected, possibly due to some language constraints. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a good introduction to these historic sites, but a little more in-depth commentary would have made it perfect.

Our tour guide was fantastic!!
He was fluent in English, extremely knowledgable in Egyptian history, humorous, and so much fun! We could not have asked for a better guide. It was day in Saqqara, Memphis and the ride there and back.
And our driver Emir was very kind and a very safe driver. Perfect day!
