We were a family of 6 with two children aged 10 and 13 years and two grandparents. This was our first tour during a 9 day trip to Egypt and unfortunately was the most disappointing.
We were picked up by a poorly maintained minivan with torn seating and airconditioning that did not work. The vehicle had no decals or signs and probably was used as a regular taxi the day before. Our driver and guide were waiting at the wrong Four Seasons Hotel so it took another 15 minutes for them to arrive.
We started the tour in Coptic Cairo. Our guide was knowledgable however he spoke very fast and with his accent it was impossible for my kids to hear what he was saying. We enjoyed Coptic Cairo however and learned a lot.
Our next stop should have been the citadel but instead we were taken to various stores which were definitely not listed on the tour itinerary and wasted our time. Finally we drove to the citadel but on the way the guide explained that he was leaving us and that the driver would stay with us for the rest of the day. This was unexpected as we had only just started. I asked him about cave church to which he responded "all churches are the same". He bought our tickets for the citadel and then abandoned us.
The driver did not speak much English but he tried his best to help us the rest of the afternoon.
The biggest mistake I made was paying for the most expensive, all inclusive option which included coptic cairo, the citadel, garbage city, cave church and El- khalili market and lunch. We were cheated out of half of what was promised.
At the hotel drop off the driver was waiting to be tipped. When he saw my father opening his wallet he reached over and snatched a $10 USD bill from my father's hand. We were really surprised and caught off guard. American tourists are expected to tip generously and perhaps he felt entitled to his share.
This was a really disappointing experience in Cairo and on our first day too. It is so hard to pick a reputable tour company since all of them seem to have glowing reviews. We had very good experiences in Luxor and along the Nile cruise, but not in Cairo.

Guide was very nice. However, we did not see everything that we paid for. He had stated synagogue was not part of the tour. When it was. And implied that we had to pay extra. Contacted the operator afterwards, and he said that he would send a guy back. But at that point, we did not feel safe in regards to that. The expectation is if we paid for something, they should’ve delivered on the front end. The operator themselves, were completely rude and argumentative. Complained with viatour, and they could care less about what the customer states. I will take this up with my visa company.

Be prepared for a cultural experience. And a very informative history lesson!
With an experienced tour guide and exceptional driver we were able to explore a very busy market (bazaar), the Ben Ezra Synagogue, The Citadel and Muhammad Ali Mosque.

It was an awesome experience seeing alot of Cairo whilst with the driver. Raafat our driver was courteous, well-spoken in English and so patient with us as he explained his way through the drive of the various places to visit. The Coptic Cairo tour showed a different aspect to Cairo that was both historical and interesting. Our guide Ehab was highly knowledgeable and our driver Shady was professional. We had a lot of fun with them. Unfortunately the tour started a bit later than advertised and included stops at a spice shop, cotton shop and jewellery shop otherwise it would've been a 5/5 tour.

I had a phenomenal tour with my tour guide Selvia and driver Raafat. Selvia in particular was such a treat: she was energetic and genuinely interested in helping people understand the unique aspects of Coptic Cairo as well as connecting with them. One can truly tell she loves what she does and shows deep attention to the history and stories that make each destination come alive. Also, this tour company went above and beyond in accommodating a last minute booking from me. They arranged everything within an hour of me making a same day booking after my former plans fell through and thanks to them I got to see much more than I planned with an exceptional tour guide. Highly recommend both this company and specific tour!

The tour of the Coptic neighborhood and Old Town was one of the most interesting parts of our visit to Cairo. Our guide Bisho was very knowledgeable and shared many stories about the history and culture of the area, which made the experience much more meaningful.
Walking through the old streets and visiting the historic churches was truly special. The guide Bisho was friendly, patient, and made the tour feel very personal. We really enjoyed it.

Our guide, Ehab, was helpful, knowledgeable and, clearly, well known by all the people he shook hands with! Our driver, Saied, managed to negotiate the horrendous traffic in Cairo and got us to Coptic churches, a disused synagogue and the mosque of Mohammed Ali. They both went above and beyond the effort required and deserve all the success due to them.

Only had a short time to see old Cairo and this half day tour ticked all the boxes for us . The guide Sandy was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and explained the history relating to the sites we visited pointing out the areas of interest . She let us dictate the pace of the trip and gave us choices of what we wanted to see .
Our driver was also brilliant and we felt safe negotiating the Cairo traffic.

We loved this tour with our friendly guide, Fady. The historic sites covered by the tour were beautiful and fascinating, and Fady provided plenty of interesting information about them as he has a deep understanding of their significance. He paced things perfectly so we could see everything we wanted. Fady was fun to be with and also took some great photos of us and was happy to chat about all sorts of aspects of Egyptian history. I highly recommend this tour and highly recommend Fady as a guide.

Our private tour of the Coptic churches was unfortunately a rather mediocre experience. While the sites themselves are historically and spiritually significant, the overall tour felt underwhelming due to the limited elaboration we received. Our guide was a student who seemed to have only basic knowledge of the history and stories behind the churches. The explanations were brief—usually just two or three minutes of background—after which we were left to walk around on our own without much additional insight or engagement.
She also didn’t offer much direction for photos and didn’t seem familiar with the best spots, which was disappointing compared to other tours we’ve experienced.
On a positive note, the driver was excellent. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and made the journey comfortable with a clean, well-maintained car. His professionalism and pleasant conversation were definitely the highlight of the tour.

Shymaa was our guide. The trip was ok. She did a good job finding us some interesting shopping that we requested and took us to the sites we expected. She was pretty knowledgeable overall. She did seem to want to push us into an expensive lunch but she eventually heard us and we got sandwiches.
She was not very courteous though especially with respect to timing. We had told her at the start we wanted to be back by 4pm to see the sunset at pyramids and she said that was ok. She did not seem to have any idea on how to manage the trip time though. It was obvious we were going to be really late and she kept suggesting more shopping options that we had not asked for. Also she failed to consider the impact of rush hour so we were running quite late and no apology for that. At the end when we were supposed to go home the driver dropped her off 15 minutes in the wrong direction for her to shop (unbeknownst to us). She had said goodbye to us and we tipped her and wished her well. It was 30 minutes wasted and then she was back, saying her shopping g store was closed, but she smelled of new per and when we asked to be dropped straight to the hotel, she had herself get dropped off first again with no care for our schedule. We ended getting back after 6 and missed sunset. It was selfish of her not to consider her clients desires.
She did effectively lie to us two times over at the end of the trip.

We had an incredible day exploring Cairo with Bisho. He was informative and insightful, providing context to every place we visited.
He ensured we hit every spot on the itinerary, from Coptic Cairo to Khan el-Khalili, without ever feeling rushed. This tour was definitely worth the money, and I can't recommend Bisho enough to anyone visiting the city.

Fady made the day a full experience and we would not have made it without our driver. I recommend the tour because as a first time visitor you cannot do it on your own. Super service, everything worked out great. Personally we do not like the shopping in between but the market was great and we added a traditional short dinner at the endof our tour for little extra money

Our tour guide was Bisho, and we could not have been more happy. He was willing to be flexible about the exact sites that we would visit, open to what we wanted. At each site, Bisho demonstrated his deep understanding of the significance and background to what we were looking at, and of huge benefit was able to convey his great knowledge in a clear, easily understandable way. Bisho is an egyptologist, but by no means was his manner academic - it was friendly, light hearted, also direct and honest. It was wonderful that apart from the subjects in the tour itself, we could ask all of our questions about Egyptian life and culture and Bisho was happy to provide thoughtful and, again, very knowledgable informative responses. He was a real pleasure to spend time with. We have already recommended him to a friend of ours coming soon to Cairo, and would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone.
