The tour was more than what we expected. We learned about the cultural and historical richness of Alexandria, across centuries, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch near the sea. The tour was very well organised and balanced (ancient vs. modern sights) and our guide, Mahmoud, was one of the best out there. Passionate and very knowledgeable about the history and the places we visited, attentive to everyone's needs in the group, kind and with great humor. It was truly a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Egypt.

We have the luck of having Mahmoud, a knowledgeable archeologist.
Unfortunately, none of the old Alexandria remained.

It was a long day but worth it, only thing I wasn’t too thrilled with was the lunch but besides that the day was a 10/10.

Excellent guide who customized program to my interests which made for a fulfilling and interesting visit. It was a worthwhile tour.

Our guide, Mohammed, is working on his PhD, so he practically grew up in the library, which is where the tour started. He is very knowledgeable and seems to know everyone in town!
The tour hit lots of sites in this city that is both ancient and modern. The catacombs are not to be missed!

We had such a wonderful day trip to Alexandria with Karim and our driver Ahmet. Everything was organised perfectly from pickup to drop-off, and the whole experience felt comfortable, fun, and full of fascinating history.
Karim was an excellent Egyptologist guide ,incredibly knowledgeable, clever, funny, and passionate about Alexandria’s Greek, Roman, and Egyptian history. He explained everything in such an interesting and easy way and showed us both the beautiful modern side of Alexandria and the deeper historical and cultural side too. As Albanians living in Britain, we especially loved hearing the historical connections he shared with us.
We visited Montaza Palace, Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, the Catacombs, and many other amazing places. Lunch was lovely, the transport was comfortable, and Ahmet was so patient, kind, and friendly throughout the day.
Our group included people from America, Germany, China, and the UK, and Karim made everyone feel included and welcomed. We learned so much while laughing all day. Truly one of the best tour experiences we’ve ever had in Egypt. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience in our trip to Alexandria. Our guide, Mohamed was very helpful and answered our many questions. The trip was well organized and we enjoyed seeing each site. We particularly liked the catacombs and our time at the new library. Thanks for a great day in Alexandria!

The experience was very enjoyable and truly memorable. The tour guide, Walid was very good, knowledgeable and friendly.

The driver was rude and callus. Doesn’t understand or barely follows English. Repeatedly requested him to turn on ac as we’re suffocating due to hot weather. He ignored until he himself started feeling it. But was blocking our way for tips at the end.
Almost all drivers across every tour had non-English speaking people though booking information clearly promising otherwise!! Got tired of using translators for every bit of basic things. BAD EXPERIENCE!!
The guide was good this time. But he purchased tickets for Turkish mansion without asking us and later we had to pay him. We’re allowed only 20 mins to just walk outside the mansion for 20 mins. Felt cheated. Also didn’t take us to the historic place “Citadel of Qaitbay”. Showed us from miles away.
I shouldn’t have booked it for being cheated. Our companion traveling family expressed similarly.

Worth to book

This is a really nice trip to take and very doable in a day. We wanted to escape the pyramids and the temples for a day and get a snap shot of life in a coastal city like Alex. Mohammed was a wonderful guide and we truly enjoyed his tour and his knowledge of Alex .

Great trip. Guide was very good, knowledgeable and helpful. Long trip. Driver was kind of tired and sleepy on the way back.
Library visit was great

Our full-day tour of Alexandria was spectacular from start to finish. We began at the beautiful Montaza Palace Grounds, which offered a peaceful, breezy start to the day. From there, we visited the stunning Bibliotheca Alexandrina—a modern architectural marvel that is a must-see.
Our guide, Mohammed Salama, was incredible throughout the day. He provided so much context at the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa and during our visits to St. Mark’s Coptic Church and the local Mosque. We ended with the perfect photo op: a breathtaking view toward the Citadel of Qaitbay over the Mediterranean. Mohammed’s storytelling made the history feel alive, and his pacing was perfect. If you’re headed to Alexandria, ask for Mohammed Salam’s!

A great day out touring Alexandria, visiting the major sites around the city, with a great lunch as well.
Our guide for the tour was Mohammed who was awesome, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable.
A highly recommend day trip and you should ask for Mohammed if you want a guaranteed great guide.

Very informative and interesting tour. Our guide Norhan shared a lot of different information with us. She was very friendly and positive. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Great guide, unforgettable experience I’ll do it again. The trip from Cairo to Alexandria went smooth, I wish had more time in Alexandria .

It was a whistle stop tour our guide was excellent a long ride from Cairo but worth it visited the catacombs which was the highlight also the church and mosque lunch ok but would be better if given a choice as not everyone likes fish
Jocelyn_D, Jan 2026
Our tour guide and driver took very good care of us…. Our group was good, tour guide knowledgeable with a sense of humor. It was overall a great trip to Alexandria. The main library was awesome!
Lizzie_O, Jan 2026
Uncomfortable car. An unannounced 40 minutes stop at a souvenir shop. A very good driver but unfortunately he first presses a couple to tip him when dropping them off. Then he first refused to drive us back to the pickup stop and wouldn’t even acknowledge that he picked us at that hotel. When my husband tipped him for the two of us (quite generously) he wanted the same amount for me! An unacceptable behavior after a quite expensive trip. Also the guide never showed us the roman amphitheater and only stopped outside the plank surrounding the Pompei’s pillar.
Yong_R, Jan 2026
Your guide was very knowledgeable and was very helpful. I could hear lots of information on Alexandria.
Peter_S, Jan 2026
The trip is too long, especially the drive. The sites except to the catacombs where not significant. Could cut out lunch as it was not good.
The tour guide was very good and knowledgeable

This guide is highly professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and experienced. Through his explanations, we learned a great deal about history and culture. The entire journey was enriching and meaningful, offering excellent value for money.
One small suggestion relates to the lunch arrangement: since we set out early in the morning and had only a light breakfast, lunch wasn’t served until 3 p.m., by which time everyone was quite exhausted. If lunch could be scheduled a bit earlier, the overall experience would be even better.
Overall, the guide's service was outstanding. With just a slight adjustment to the meal timing, it would be nearly perfect!
Justine_v, Jan 2026
Excellent driver and tour guide. There were a few places, like the first stop ('the garden') where I feel we wasted some time that could have then been spent somewhere else. Also would have been good if it was clearer that the library was closed on Fridays - I had 5 days to choose from to go. But overall a very good trip

Mohammed was our tour guide and I'm so glad that we took this trip! It was super convenient and a great way to see the highlights of Alexandria from Cairo. As we were switching hotels in Cairo that night, they were even kind enough to store our bags in the car and drop of us at our new location at the end of the tour!
Alexandria was stunning. We were lucky to have warmth from the sun. The Roman burial site was a highlight for me, and Mohammed was so insightful in bringing to life what some of the key symbols in the tombs meant and how they are still looking into the site. He even read some of the hieroglyphics.
The lunch was fine. If you like seafood, you're in for a treat!
All of the stops were well timed and I never felt rushed though I did feel that we had time to see everything. I also enjoyed seeing the church of St Mark and hearing about its history.
Rosa_B, Jan 2026
The tour guide Mo and just the refreshing of Alexandria and so much history was great.
The driver and tour guide were gems and made the trip very enjoyable.
Douglas_S, Jan 2026
The daytrip had about 6 to 7 stops, with only two places that we were actually able to enter (The catacombs and the church of Saint Mark). The day felt very rushed with the guide completely glazing over everything. For Alexandria, you'd imagine the main attractions would be the statue of Alexander the great, and the Roman archaeological site. Due to Friday, we couldn't see the library from the inside however the tour guide didn't even bother mentioning that the statue of Alexander the great is inside. Similarly, we stopped for lunch at a rooftop restaurant opposite to the Roman amphitheater and upon asking the guide, we were told that why'd you want to see it from up close when you have a better view from up here. The tour completely glazed over the history of Alexandria in Roman times and felt very haphazardly planned.
Ali_H, Jan 2026
We had a friendly guide and the tour was well organised. I don't think they made any mistakes — it was a beautiful city and well worth a visit! I would highly recommend it!

This was an excellent day trip from Cairo to Alexandria! Our guide Waleed made sure we had a great time, even finding some extra time to enjoy Kavafis‘ museum, which was very important to our group! Thank you for the amazing experience!

Mohammad was a 5 star guide. Very knowledgeable, can read hieroglyphics, entertaining, and kind. Driver (Hemeti?) was also 5 stars, very punctual, professional, and tried to point out Cairo landmarks as possible. Alexandria is a must see and was our favorite city in Egypt, perhaps with a different company even though the guide and driver were so great…
-1 star for a terrible company, they confirmed 7am pickup for our hotel weeks ago then day before (after WE reached out to confirm we are still on for the next day) they charged $25 for Heliopolis pickup and the night before they even tried to change the pickup time (we politely declined and they were amenable).
-1 star for a VERY long day. Started 7am and got back to our hotel at 9/9:30pm (way longer than advertised). Spent only 8-10 hours in Alexandria, the rest on the road. Car was also VERY uncomfortable they have this weird metal thing that restricts leg room for taller folks worse than spirit airlines. Needs to be better organized with pickups in Cairo so we aren’t spending 1-2 hours picking up/dropping people off in Cairo

Just felt a little rushed and just expected a little more from the experience. The local guide and driver were great.
