Our private day tour from Budapest to Bratislava was a perfect way to experience both the Hungarian and Slovak countryside. Our guide, Sofia, was thoughtful, experienced, knowledgeable, extremely attentive and most of all funny. She adjusted our plan for our gentle walker by suggesting we include the panoramic bus tour - which was the ideal way to see the city's highlights and views comfortably. We enjoyed a customized walking tour in the city's center, had a delicious lunch of local cuisine topped off by fantastic ice cream cone. The drive back to Budapest was equally as relaxing, informative, and enjoyable as the morning drive. Everything was seamless, well-paced, and exactly what we had hoped for having one day to see the city of Bratislava. Highly recommend, Sofia and this experience. We left feeling like we had made a friend for life.

On balance, Attila did a great job providing a historical and fact-filled tour of Bratislava. We enjoyed the privacy of a nice van for ourselves, as well as the ability to change our itinerary to accommodate our interests.
The first gift shop we were taken to visit was a bit of a tourist trap. We didn’t buy anything and I think our guide’s friend was slightly annoyed.
Lunch was excellent. When we first arrived at the food hall, I saw nothing but tourists. I was disappointed and had low expectations. When the food arrived, I was very pleased: the cabbage soup and sausage were delicious. The caramel cream puff was also amazingly light and sweet.
The five hours (round trip) were a bit of a hike from Budapest (easier to visit from Vienna) but it was a nice diversion and Attila was attentive and polite.

The tour was informative. The tour guide Susannah was really nice! She was prompt and showed us where to go in Bratislava

My husband and I really enjoy the city of Bratislava. Highly recommended day tour from Budapest especially when the tour guide is fun and nice named Szofia.

We had a wonderful day with Sofia who looked after us wonderfully well. She was extremely knowledgeable but also we had some good fun trying to learn some Hungarian along the way. Bratislava was well worth a visit and we are so glad we spent the day to visit somewhere very different. Many thanks; a great day for us to look back on.

A wonderful tour! It was such a delight to visit Bratislava, and I could not have had a more knowledgeable and kind guide!

Great way to see another amazing city in central Europe and learn a ton of history. Susan and Gabor were great hosts. Given it was private, we were able to control the pace.

We had a fantastic private day trip to Bratislava! Our guide was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience so enjoyable. The lunch was delicious, and we got to enjoy beautiful sites throughout the city. We also appreciated having an hour of free time to explore on our own. Highly recommend this tour for a perfect mix of history, local culture, and relaxation!

We had an amazing day with Susan driving from Budapest to Bratislava! Susan was a fantastic driver, a warm host, and an exceptional storyteller. Her passion for Hungary truly made the trip! She was able to help us navigate Brataslava and teach us about the local culture, architecture, History, and food. A wonderful way to spend a day between Budapest and Bratislava! I highly recommend this tour!

Lots of walking but great architecture You learn lots of history of both countries but the drive to and from is two hours but worth it

Enjoyed the Christmas market!

Such a fantastic time on this trip! Would have never thought to visit this country but to my Bratislava was cute and charming.

It was a nice way to see Bratislava. We didn’t have to worry about train times or parking. I had been concerned that one day wouldn’t be enough, but it was. George was very knowledgeable and interesting. We had a good day.

We took this tour to Bratislava because our tour to Vienna was cancelled. We were really glad we did it. The town of Bratislava is very old with interesting architecture and facts. We saw many of the main buildings and walked the old town where we stopped for lunch. Our guide was interesting, yet we felt he could have given more information at times. We would have also appreciated time alone to walk the town and do a little shopping. It was a long drive for a relatively short time there, however we were happy with our decision to do this tour.

The entire trip was amazing and speechless. Speechless because the sights like the Blue Church, the memorial, the palace, the town, etc. The architecture on these buildings were breathtaking.
Most of all, our guide Susan was awesome and very knowledgeable. She kept us informed and engaged as we traveled from Budapest to Bratislava. Thank you Suzanna for working through the issue and to both for going above and beyond to ensure our experience far surpassed our expectations.

This was an exceptional tour. The trip was well organized and executed, with every detail thoughtfully considered.
Our tour guide, Suzanne, was truly outstanding. Her passion for the city and her engaging storytelling made the experience unforgettable. She was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating, ensuring that we made the most of our time together!
I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city. It is a must-do for those seeking an authentic and enriching experience.
Thank you Suzanne!!!!!!!!

Sofia was the best part of this trip. As usual she spent a lot of time explaining everything to us. She gave us so many options. This is our second trip with her this week. We had so much fun. Thank you Sofia. The food was also great. I will definitely remember this trip
Ilona_B, Aug 2024
An awesome place to visit but wouldn't include the lunch option as there is a huge choice of better restaurants to chose from. A long drive and would have appreciated a coffee stop.

We don't typically write reviews but we need to say that our full day private day trip from Budapest to Bratislava (and back) was excellent- it exceeded our expectations.
We work with local guides wherever we go and we were fortunate to spend the day with Susan. She provided information about the history of the area - showed us the most important sights - and shared her insight about the recent past and now modern Hungary.
You don't need to look any further - this tour was just great.

Susan was a great guide. She provided a lot of information and answered our questions. This was a great tour and I highly recommend it.

Sophia is a hoot! Affable and funny. We enjoyed the trip out and back with her. In Bratislava, she provided a thorough tour and showed us several special spots we no doubt would have missed on our own. I loved the hot chocolate!
BETSY_S, Mar 2024
Susan our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything so well. So much wealth of historical information. She is very patient and kind especially that I was travelling with 3 kids and one of them a toddler. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with her and remember Bratislava fondly due to her.
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Betsy,
Thank you so much your awesome review! I can not wait to share it with Susan. She was happy to spend the day with you. We hope to hear from you again, when you come back to Budapest! Best wishes, Susanna
Nicole_P, Feb 2024
Susan, our guide, was full of information and was able to give a wider historical context to both Hungary and Slovakia, and how lands kept changing hands.
We hit all of the sights that I wanted to see and Susan pointed out other interesting parts of the city as well.
Bratislava is beautiful but small - we feel that we fully saw it in a day and would highly recommend the tour, the tour guide, and our driver too (Aaron)! We had a wonderful time.
I wish lunch was Slovakian but I understand they have to cater to a lot of different groups (and probably some picky people). We still enjoyed it!
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Nicole,
Thank you very much for your fantastic review regarding your private tour. We are so happy that you were satisfied with the tour. We hope to hear from you again, when you come back to Budapest! Regards, Susanna

Our tour guide Tom was excellent. He was on time picking us up and the entire trip he was happily sharing his knowledge with us.

Kate and our driver Lotzy (sp?) were wonderful guides and companions on this trip to the beautiful and quaint city of Bratislava. We had a very comfortable car for the 2 hr ride and saw so much in one day. From the castle and opera house to city center and the art deco Blue Church we felt like we definitely made it everywhere we should go. We also had a delicious (and filling) lunch where they recommended local favorites with a glass of local wine. They even tried to get me a stamp at the border on the way home after I mentioned missing getting stamps in my passport within the EU. We also got many insights and “insider” information and stories. If you want a day trip from Budapest would say this is who to go with!
Ilana_F, Aug 2023
Although our driver had some interesting info to share, we weren’t given private time to tour on our own. He would tell us what to photograph and took us into stores where he knew the owners. Also, he texted and checked his phone many times while driving on the highway. I don’t know the rules in Budapest but it felt quite unsafe.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Dear Ilana,
thank you for taking the time to write a review about this excursion. We are very sorry you had some complaints about our tour. Our guide made a great overview about Bratislava city as a private tour as it was advartised with a traditional lunch. He would have been happy to provide you any extra time or arrange you any extra wishes if he would have been ever told. Regarding his driving styles there can be a misunderstanding as he was only checking the best route available on the GPS on the phone (that was on the dashboard) to avoid the accident and the reconstructions on the highway to make your travel smoothly. He drives very safely making private tours to Bratislava and Vienna every day.
Thank you for choosing our services during your stay here.

Bratislava was a great surprise! Our guide was excellent! So well informed, fun, punctual, professional and pleasant! She could answer any questions and gave us several helpful tips to make the rest of our trip better as well.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
Dear Bruce,
Thank you so much for your lovely words! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour with us.
We wish you all the best, Susanna

Bratislava is a very interesting place. This tour gives you a quick view of the city and its sorroundings. The car part of the tour is short enough so that you can enjoy time at the destination. The guide gave us plenty of information and made our trip very nice.
