    Itinerary

Begin your tour in central Budapest. Once you’ve received a brief safety overview, head out with your guide through the city. The selected route for the tour travels through bike lanes and mainly flat terrain for a leisurely sightseeing experience.

Pass the neo-Renaissance Opera House as you cruise down Andrassy Avenue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After some explanation from your guide, steer your wheels toward Heroes’ Square, well known for its iconic statues of the seven Magyar chieftains. Nearby lies the foliage of Budapest’s City Park, where you can find Vajdahunyad Castle.

From there, bike toward the cupola of the Széchenyi Baths, built in 1908. Take a peek at the thermal pools before heading back toward central Budapest. Gaze up at the towering structure of St. Stephen’s Basilica and take a brief stop in front of the House of Terror, a museum documenting Hungarian history during World War II and Communist rule.

Then, as you make your way across the Chain Bridge, pass the stunning architecture of the Parliament Building, home to the Holy Crown of Hungary.

Head up the Buda Castle District, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, while your guide discusses the historical and political importance of the area.

Then pedal to an open-air restaurant to rest your legs and reward your belly with a hot bowl of Hungarian goulash, before returning to your original departure point.

I had a wonderful experience on the bike tour. My guide Daniel was very knowledgeable and friendly, even though I was the only one who signed up for that particular tour. It was about a four hour tour, but none of the routes between sites we visited were too hard. It was pretty hot out, but we stopped in the shade whenever we stopped. The Hungarian goulash we had was very good as well. I would definitely recommend the tour.

Great way to explore the city

    Alex_N, Oct 2025
We had the best time on our bike tour with Louisa! She was an awesome guide—super patient and shared a ton of cool insights about Budapest’s history that we wouldn’t have known otherwise. Plus, the goulash was a major highlight; it was so tasty! If you’re looking for a fun way to explore the city, we highly recommend this tour. Be sure to ask for Louisa

    Quick immersive city tour

    Kathleen_D, Oct 2025
This company provides young, friendly, competent guides. They collaborated to organize a multitude of riders for 3 different outings for the same departure time! A suitable bike was procured for each rider e.g. a switch was easily made from an E bike to a regular touring bike and this was much appreciated in my case. Daniel, our guide was Street-smart and street safe. Downtown Budapest is extremely busy! He provided just the right amount of history mixed with personal bits of information. We benefitted from his personal stories as well as his historical knowledge on the tour. Thank you Daniel. A truly authentic restaurant stop for gulyas soup at lunch break was chosen by the tour company. I would suggest only one recommendation- that the chef provide a heartier soup. We would definitely do this type of tour again.

    It’s a very easy ride...

    Ann_S, Sep 2025
It’s a very easy ride around the city. Our guide was very informative and a delight to talk to. Doing this your our first day would have given us a better understanding of Budapest and other places to visit.

    Best Cycle Tour Ever!

    Ingrid_B, Aug 2025
We always try to do a cycle tour in each new city we visit and I have to say this was one of the best. The guide was so knowledgeable and took us to so many interesting places throughout Budapest. She was very passionate about her country and shared a lot of history that we were not aware of. We would highly recommend this cycle tour. Ingrid

Got time in BUD? This is a perfect 4 hour sample of Budapest.

    Brian_R, Jun 2025
This tour is a fantastic ~4H experience to get a good sample of the city. Getting TO the tour is a bit of a task, because the starting point is deep in the city center (read - taxi’s can get nearby but due to traffic: be prepared to walk a bit to get to the gate of their terrace). Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke clearly, and had a willingness to discuss more about the various landmarks when asked. He also gave recommendations for post-tour activity in and around the BUD city that fit for visitors on a time table. Overall, I strongly recommend this tour and an E-bike is not really needed if you can roll 10-12 miles at a leisurely pace. The city itself has an incredible amount of traffic so: pay close attention to those cross-walks, and make sure you try the sulfur water at one of the baths!! Finally: the traditional Hungarian goulash (pronounced “gooeyyaaach”) was the perfect lunch stop.

    Response from Host, Jun 2025

Thanks so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We're delighted you had a great experience exploring the city with us and that our guide helped make the tour informative and engaging. It’s fantastic to hear you appreciated the landmark insights, helpful local tips, and of course—the goulash! 😊 We’re glad the pace and distance were manageable and hope your memories of Budapest stay with you for a long time!

    Good but not great

    Rufus_H, Oct 2024
The tour was too long due to our large group size. The guide was good, but it was difficult to get everyone together. I would recommend limiting the amount of people.

    Response from Host, Oct 2024

I am sorry that the tour got a bit longer. We limit our group sizes to maximum 12 person, which is lower than the average bike tours group size worldwide and can be handled smoothly. Nevertheless it happens that people ride slower, take more photos, or have a lot of questions, which can make the tour a bit longer, because, we respect the needs of everybody.

Great, the guide let us time to take pictures

    Alejandra_P, Sep 2024
Thank you for everything! This was a nice trip alonside the goulash meal that was pretty much needed to keep on riding

    Easy breezy Budapest

    Terrence_D, Sep 2024
Manuel was a great guide… He was very good at telling about both the history of Budapest as well as telling about life in modern city. Easy bike ride, not at all strenuous. A great overview of a beautiful city.

Best way to enjoy Budapest and such a fantastic tour operator!

    JosephRaymond_C, Sep 2024
Due to a miscommunication, my original group already left without me before the meeting time of 1030 am but the operator managed to get me another guide. This made the trip even more memorable as there were only three of us. Cycling along the Danube whilst raining made the experience even more special!

    Fun day riding in Budapest

    Richard_K, Aug 2024
Our tour guide Feri did an excellent job taking us through parts of Budapest by bicycle. He provided lots of interesting stories about the city's history, kept our group together while riding on city streets, brought water along for us (much appreciated!), and simply was terrific. Seeing a city by bike is a great way to get introduced to a new area and Feri's work enhanced the experience. Highly recommended!

    Magnificent

I absolutely loved the e-bike tour around the city. We went to so many wonderfully historic areas in Budapest. I will treasure these moments, always.

Barbara was a nice tour guide- just enough info at each stop but not too much— a good balance. Definitely the best way to see the highlights. Goulash bowl was good- very very simple but plenty of lunch

    Great bike tour

We really enjoyed our bike tour with Katia. She brought the city to life. We have decided to go back to a couple of sights to investigate more. Very worth the money. Loved the goulash lunch too.

Fun way to see a good portion of the city quickly

    Christina_C, Aug 2023
Got to see all the major highlights of the city while getting to enjoy fresh air and adventure. While you don’t spend a ton of time at each spot you get a good overview of where you want to explore later.

    Excellent experience

A different way to visit Budapest

    Oscar_V, Jul 2022
I really enjoyed this tour. It was truly a great experience to ride a bike through the streets of Bucarest. Zsombor is an extremely attentive and informative guide. Also open to any questions I had. Thanks to him, a learned a lot about the city and its history, which will allow me to enjoy Budapest even more. Do yourself a favour and book this tour, you will not regret it. And by the way, the gulash was amazing!

    Best Tour in Budapest!

    Sheena_P, Nov 2019
It was a chilly day but biking made it a lot easier to deal with. Our guide Anna was outstanding. She was super sweet and knowledgeable about Budapest and all the landmarks we saw. She took pictures of us when we asked, we crossed bridges and learned all about the history of the country. Not to mention the Ghoulash was delicious!! The marketplace we ate at was phenomenal! Would definitely do it again!!

The best of Budapest by bike

    Ronald T, Oct 2019
If sitting on a bus watching the sites pass bye is not your thing, then this bike tour is for you. It covers most of the major sites in Pest and the island with a brief swing across the river to Buda. The tour provided a good background of not just the city but also the country, it's history and development through the centuries. Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and happy to answer all of our many questions. We were never rushed and were able to spend as much time as we needed at each stop, to the point that we went way beyond the allotted time. One word of caution, however. Budapest is a very big city (I think about 2 million). Even though it has a remarkable amount of walking and biking infrastructure (a lot more than many US cities) there is a lot of traffic. If you are not comfortable negotiating crowded walk ways or busy streets, even if there is a designated bike lane, then you might want to think twice about a bike tour in Budapest. If you are comfortable on a bike and up for an adventure, this bike tour is a great way to see this city. I would highly recommend it.

    Barbara_M, Sep 2019
An easy way to see and learn about Budapest past and present. Evie was great with a good command of english and a rich knowledge of her town. Well worrh the money. Lunch was a bit disapointing though.

    Fantastic bike trip

    tina_F, Sep 2019
We joined this trip 2 adults and our teenage daughter. It was the most fantastic way to see Budapest. We had the best guide, many great stories, and he was very nice and funny at the same time. At lunch we had good traditional Hungarian gullasch soup. We were biking around 25 km in 5 1/2 hour, no hurry. Can absolutely be recommended!

Anna is smart, funny and full of fun facts

    James G, Sep 2019
This is a great way to get your bearings around old town Budapest. The history lesson is necessary if you want to understand Hungarians. The ride was super easy. The personal anecdotes added by Anna were heartfelt and enriched the experience.
