This tour meets at our Alexanderplatz shop, located at the base of the giant TV Tower (Fernsehturm). You can find us on the north side of the tower between the Alex Café and the entrance to the TV Tower. The address is Panoramastraße 1a, 10178 Berlin.

Itinerary
Meet and greet the tour guide and group near the entrance of the TV Tower in Alexanderplatz, a large public square and transport hub in the center of Berlin. After getting fitted for a Beach Cruiser bike and helmet, hop on a train for the brief trip to Potsdam.
There will be a brief introduction to Potsdam before beginning the ride around and through this capital city of the German federal state of Brandenburg.
Pedal through the historical city center, the Russian colony Alexandrowka and the Dutch Quarter. Admire the majestic royal residences that were built during the reign of Frederick the Great. There’s Sansoucci Palace, one of the largest UNESCO World Heritage sites in Germany; New Palace, the largest and most impressive palace ensemble in Sanssouci. Also in Sanssouci Park; and Orangery Palace, built in the style of the High Renaissance and commissioned by King Frederick William IV.
Explore a variety of historical sites and learn the deeper meaning behind each.
Visit the exterior of the Cecilienhof Palace, where Churchill, Truman and Stalin wrote world history when discussing how to partition Germany. Coast along between the former East and West Berlin, to see the Glienicke Bridge connecting Potsdam to Berlin — where Cold War spy exchanges routinely took place — and much more."
There will be time for lunch in the Dutch Quarter (own expense).
The tour concludes with a return trip to Berlin.

Our tour guide Maggi was incredible. We were on the 6.5 hour tour in Postdam. He was highly knowledgable, friendly and considerate of all participants. The area is beautiful and the ride is fairly flat. There were people of all levels of bike experience on our tour and Maggi made sure that everyone was with the group before moving on.

Nice group, Bindi (SP?) did a good job shepherding us around Potsdam and the sites.... One suggestion: Have some specific recommendations for lunch spots when you break, could save some wantering around...thanks!

Background knowledge was great. The group interaction was good on the tour which made the tour that much more enjoyable. Helmets were not offered in Potsdam like they were in Berlin.

Simon was a fantastic guide who provided a lot of history with a relaxed vibe. We didn’t know anything about Frederick the Great and were happily surprised to learn some LGBTQ+ history via this tour!
We only had one other couple on the tour, who were also awesome (hi Jackie and Stuart!), and we appreciated that it wasn’t cancelled for such a small group. It is a long day with a lot of biking, so just be prepared, however you do get a lunch break in the middle which was nice to relax and wander Potsdam alone.

This was a wonderful day taking the train to Potsdam from Berlin. Knowledgeable guide and a wonderful route surround the many palaces of Fredrick the great and other kings of the erra. The grounds are beautiful and a lot of history surrounding Potsdam and visiting where the allies divided us Germany following World War II is incredible. Highly recommend this tour, and Nick, our guide, was wonderful. :)

Fourteen miles of leisurely bike riding through town and parks, much of it along the path of the former Berlin Wall, and a journey through German history pre and post WWII. Simon did a fine job of storytelling and setting a relaxing tone.

You have to say the bridge where spies were swapped in the previous Cold War but all the Prussian palaces were magnificent.

Great tour! Excellent history and stories with a great, knowledgeable guide and beautiful biking paths through the lovely town of Potsdam. We all took the train together from Alexanderplatz and then picked up bikes (and helmets) in Potsdam and then toured the town highlights with a stop for lunch where you could stroll the old Dutch quarter and find your own food. An absolute highlight of our trip to Berlin!

A worthwhile half-day tour from Berlin. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and ensured that the group stayed together throughout the bike ride. We stopped at various spots where the guide provided terrific insights into the history of the city as well as behind the scenes stories at the main attractions. Highly recommended, especially if you're interested in anything related to WWII.

Absolutely loved it....even with a morning drizzle. Our guide, Alicia, was excellent. She had so much history to share...we all learned a lot. I would recommend this tour to anyone who can ride a bike. It really was a wonderful way to take a tour and spend the day.

The Potsdam Tour was led by a helpful and knowledgeable guide. We were able to go inside the palace where Stalin, Truman , and Churchill met. The management of the bicycles and train transportation as well as restaurant details were all taken care of by the guide.
The sidewalks and streets were crowded at times.

This was fun and a wonderful way to see Potsdam. Our guide was great and we had a tasty lunch at a local German restaurant. The palaces were grand and the grounds were spectacular. The historical significance of Potsdam was also interesting to learn.

This was a great tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, the bike riding itself was a nice, leisurely ride and the sights were grand. The place we stopped for lunch was authentic German fare. All in all, I couldn't rate this more highly - it's a must do for Potsdam.
