Itinerary
Begin this private walking tour by meeting your guide outside the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn station. Then set out to explore the city's Jewish heritage, from the days of its first 17th-century immigrants, through the horror of the Holocaust, to the present day.
Along the way, learn about some of Berlin’s past Jewish residents who changed the world as we know it, like Albert Einstein and philosopher Moses Mendelssohn, who founded the first modern public school for Jewish boys.
Visit the Museum Blindenwerkstatt Otto Weidt, a 1940s-era factory where workshop owner Otto Weidt protected his blind and deaf Jewish workers from persecution during the Holocaust. Other highlights include the Scheunenviertel, Sophienstraße, and Sophia Church.
Finally, visit the 19th-century New Synagogue, one of Berlin’s most significant Jewish landmarks. It was the main synagogue of the Berlin Jewish community and an important architectural monument of late 19th century Berlin. Today, it is home to the Centrum Judaicum, which traces the history of the building and the life associated with it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Marriette was a gorgeous, lovely, bubbly girl and enhanced our experience of the tour.

The tour guide was informative but we found this a little boring. Would have liked the tour to include the museum in the old Synagogue.

The tour was a great experience. The guide, Caroline, was excellent, highly knowledgeable, communicative and very pleasant.
our guide was very well informed and made the trip very interesting. This is a worthwhile tour which is quite a lot of walking but is all on the flat.
Again an excellent tour with Finn, an Irishman living in Berlin. His knowledge was excellent and the fact that he wasn't even Jewish made no difference to the knowledge he imparted. Again we had very hot weather which did put an extra strain on the group. However as we were a small group there was a good feeling amongst us all.
although there are just remnants, bits and pieces of what was the young man who guided us made it come alive. He kept up a running commentary as we went along and answered all questions patiently.Since he was from the states originally his english was perfect... it makes a difference.
He covered a lot of territory, both physically and historically, and it made for a very enlightening morning.

Walking in the rain wasn't so bad given the great tour
Great tour and experience. I thought we were going to see known places like the Neue Sinagogue and the holocaust memorial which by the way we did not visited. The things we saw were completely different, more based on the daily life of the jews in Berlin before WW2. Great way to know those unimaginable locations. Will be great to know the route of the tour in advance. Highly recommended.
This was a very interesting, informative, sensitive and worthwhile tour of history that is not generally known. My guide had an excellent knowledge of Jewish life in Berlin prior to WWII.

Terrific company, well-informed guides, very good itineraries. This tour is one of the few given in a group. Unfortunately, most Jewish tours offered are private ones and we were delighted to find this.
