- Drivers must present a valid driver's license and be 21 years of age
- The driver must leave a deposit of 300€ per GoCar, either by Credit Card or Cash
- Drivers who are not from the European Union must have a valid, non-expired international driver's license or request an official translation of their license directly at the shop ( own expense 20€). The translation takes 1 hour and is possible from Monday to Friday (until 3pm on Friday) Not official holidays.

- Wheelchair accessible, please advise at time of booking if wheelchair assistance is required. (We can provide a GoCar that is operated by hand only)

Throughly enjoyed this. Could be a a little bit difficult if you went off the route however this was a minor issue. Car easy to drive. Would highly recommend. Great fun

We had thought we would be in a group but this is just a solo exploring type of excursion.
Driving the go cart isn’t easy at first but you get the hang of it after a bit. If you’re a skittish driver this likely isn’t for you. Also the go-cart is small so taller people might be somewhat uncomfortable.
Overall we liked it and saw a ton in a short amount of time. Get out an explore for breaks along the way.

We have thoroughly enjoyed Go Cars in other cities, but our Barcelona experience was frustrating and disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we felt very rushed and not welcomed. When we asked if there were restrooms we could use or any water that was available they seemed annoyed and neither were available. The young woman who gave us the overview of the car was very pleasant and thorough. Although she did not let us know how to find the navigation to return back to the shop if we needed to at any point. The car was smaller in the seating area than we are used to with go cars, and the driver was very crammed in, and the glare of the sun made it virtually impossible to see the screen. When we told them this upon returning, they said we should had polarized glasses. Also, the route does not reroute if you get off course and driving in Barcelona is not an easy task normally and there is construction/road closed. The most disappointing part was that the traffic is so thick and rushed that the driver is really unable to relax to take in any of the sites. Additionally parking is hard to find so we couldn’t really stop along the route. Finally, we were nervous because the US does not have a driving agreement with Spain, and so we were basically driving as unlicensed drivers – we signed a waiver regarding this, but they could not give us an answer as to how much the fine would be if we were stopped. Be aware, there is a delay in the acceleration of the vehicle, which is frustrating to the drivers around you when you are trying to proceed when the light turns green.
If you are comfortable in heavy city traffic, stopping at every light with the sun beating down on you and not being able to really enjoy the sites, you could possibly enjoy this. The best part was when pedestrians think you look cute in the tiny car.

Thank you for taking the time to drop a review. Taking a GoCar in Barcelona, with the city traffic, parking, lights and bright sunshine were clearly all important issues for you and it is, as you point out, not for everyone.
We would however like to make very clear, you were not 'basically driving as unlicensed drivers'.
If you do not bring an IDP (International Driving Permit), technically you need an official translation of your US license. There is a small possibility local police could fine you for not having a translation, but there is no 'fixed' rate fee. We never let people take a GoCar without a valid driving license.

This was probably my favorite thing that we did in Barcelona. A great way to see the city. Highly recommend. Everyone at GoCars was so helpful especially since my son who’s 6’8” didn’t fit in the new cars. They pulled out an older model and off we went.

We were a family of 4 (16 and 17th year olds). We hired two cars. Great fun and I would highly recommend. A couple of points brought it down from a 5 star:
Seats very uncomfortable. The route that had been pre-plotted into the car sat nav’s was very long which meant that we couldn’t complete it and get the car back in time for our 3hr slot. We didn’t even stop for a break and a rest apart from to stretch our legs as the seats were so hard and painful.
The route got confused a couple of times. So we had to improvise and use our own phones to get back in track.
They wouldn’t let us use their WC although the briefing was comprehensive.

Had so much fun doing the self guided tour. The car was relatively easy to drive, and the GPS made it super handy. Probably the funnest tour I’ve done on my European travels!

Right out of the driveway my husband had an accident because the accelerator went and he couldn’t turn the wheel. They kept the deposit and we hadn’t even left yet. Then they replaced the car and the gps did not work. It is dangerous without it. We had another party with us who also almost got into an accident because the gps did not work. They never even offered a partial refund. They said well you should have called us. We could not pull over anywhere safe to even do that!

We had a great time. It allowed us to move around Barcelona in our own. Only downside was it was a Sunday and all stores were closed. The best part was not a lot of traffic.

This was an awesome way to experience Barcelona! Would recommend this to anyone seeking a new way to tour. It is a little hairy in the beginning but once you get the hang of it it is a blast! The audio guide gives you bits of information as you drive and is pretty funny as well.

The Golf cart GPS malfunctioned 40 minutes into the excursion. We navigated back to the original pick up location that confirmed the malfunction. Requested a refund that was denied

We had high expectations for this experience. We are very disappointed that the carts did not accommodate the height of my husband. We were given another cart, that was described as an older model. The gps did not work well and we found ourselves lost. When we called for assistance as described in the cart, it was connected to the whatup app thus we were able to call for assistance
The personnel was accommodating and graciously apologized, but their kindness and professionalism was over shadowed by the experience in the cart.

This vehicle is VERY small and cramped. Driving in Barcelona is challenging and terrifying. Driver has to focus on driving and does not get to enjoy sights. Passenger will enjoy more.
The GPS on go car does not recalibrate. The path is the path.
You are very close to ground. It is magnified when a truck pulls up behind you and honks horn.
Parking is limited so plan to stay in vehicle the entire time.
Not enjoyable. Would not recommend.
The vendor will also not let you cancel once you realize the safety concerns.

Thanks for your review. Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain, so some parts of the route can have heavy traffic at times. Street parking, although free for GoCars, is difficult to find, but there are numerous private car parks across the city. Yes, the route is fixed on the GPS system. Your advice is excellent, if you are uncomfortable driving around a major European city, then taking a GoCar is not recommended. Enjoy the rest of your travels.

It’s so easy to use! And it’s so much fun, the roads were pretty quite for Barcelona, I went off track 3 times more because I couldn’t turn when I wanted too. It has some speed capped at 40kph but it feel fast in the cart! There’s a few stop of places along the way. I really enjoyed it a completely different experience! Would 100% recommend!
You need to put a deposit on the car but it didn’t even leave my bank

A must do. I received a called a week prior to our trip asking if I would mind switching our time from 2:00 pm to 10:00 am and they would let us keep the cart for an extra hour. Upon check in, the lady was extremely nice. My husband is a bigger guy and she accommodated us with a different cart that would work better for a guy over 6 ft. The ride was amazing going around at our pace seeing all the sites. We had a BLAST!

My wife and I rented a GoCar on our recent visit to Barcelona. It was a blast! We took the 3 hour audio tour, which takes you past most of the tourist stops: La Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, Barcelonetta, the Harbor and Montjuic. Gives you about 45 minutes leftover to park somewhere and get out for a bit (we walked up to the Montjuic Castell). Takes a minute to get used to zipping through Barcelona traffic on such a low ride, but once you get the hang of it its a blast. Drives like a scooter, with handle bars and a throttle... only foot pedal is the brake. The car is a bit small for my 6'1" frame, so I ended up sitting cross-legged and braking with my left toe much of the time :-) but this was quite comfortable.

GoCar is a great way to see the city sights at your own pace with you in control. We loved the experience and Claudia was wonderful in telling us all we needed to know and even allowing us to go over our 3 hr limit.

Renting this little car for the day was perfect for us to maximize our 1 day in Barcelona. We did the 3 hour tour around town and saw all the highlights of the city. The gps was easy to follow. The car provided great facts and history about the city as we drove. Pictures you can see just how tiny the car is, so larger folks and tall people would be uncomfortable for the 3 hours. I’m 5.7, and it tough on the knees when driving as the brake pedal is very forward in the car. Tall people be wary. The staff at the place were nice and prompt. Instructions were provided in the beginning before we left. Overall it was fun and I would do it again in another city if it was offered.
