Itinerary
Begin your day with pickup from your Barcelona accommodations and travel by private vehicle to Girona. On arrival, explore the city on foot, walk along sections of the medieval walls, and through narrow cobblestone streets. Visit the well-preserved Jewish Quarter and see the Gothic cathedral before stopping along the Onyar River, where rows of colorful houses line the water’s edge.
From Girona, continue toward the Costa Brava. In Pals, take a guided walk through the historic center, passing small lanes, open plazas, and viewpoints overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Emporda Plains. The route then follows the coast to Calella de Palafrugell, a traditional fishing village known for its seaside setting.
Spend time exploring the waterfront area at your own pace, with the option to stop for a seafood lunch at a local restaurant (own expense), with recommendations from your guide. If conditions and interest allow, you may also walk part of the Caminos de Ronda, a coastal path that connects coves, cliffs, and beaches.
In the late afternoon, return by private vehicle to Barcelona, where the tour concludes with hotel drop-off.

If you are looking for a wonderful trip while in Barcelona this is the trip you want to take. We had Javier and he showed us Girona and Costa Brava and really knew his historical facts. Trust me this is venture you want to have
Tour features a leisurely drive up to Girona and a walk around the historic area. Then east across to the Costa Brava coast, stopping for lunch at a Cafe on the beach. Th3n a walk around a medieval village. Even though it poured rain all day, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment, largely thanks to our charming, attentive guide, Tony Rivas. He worked diligently to make us comfortable and shield us from the weather, patiently kept pace with my snail pace and slow stairs, and led us to good restaurants with reasonable prices. Full of local knowledge, he kept us engaged and entertained for the full 10 hours. Thanks so much, Tony!
Well worth the time to visit Girona and Costa Brava. Our tour guide, Mario, was excellent! Highly recommend!
We had the best day! Chema, our driver & guide gave us so much information at all our stops, he really made it interesting. He changed up the tour a bit & took us to a different medieval town. As luck would have it, we had read about it previous to our trip & thought it would be more interesting. We had the town to ourselves- wonderful!! We then had the most wonderful lunch at a place of Chema's choosing. Everything was delicious...he knew what he was doing! Our final stop was on the coast in Calella. We had free time to enjoy the perfect weather, the ocean & the beach. A most relaxing day...one we would not have done on our own!!
Wonderful to see more of the area around Barcelona. Mario was wonderful guide. Very low key but informative. Have us some flexibility for a wine stop but didn’t cut out any of the tour.

We travelled with Gaspar through the beautiful costal towns of Costa Brava and then on to Girona. Gaspar was friendly, communicative and made sure to show us all the “must-sees”! We thoroughly enjoyed our day and highly recommend this wonderful trip to all who wish to see the beauty of Catalonia!

Girona was an amazing tour. If your are a GOT fan it is great to try and identify the various landmarks. If you didn’t know you were in Spain you would swear you were in a quaint Italian village. Costa Brava was nice to relax and enjoy the view and have lunch

Walking through Girona is like going back to the 15th century. The restorations are beautiful. So photogenic! St Felix’s cathedral is magnificent sitting along the River Tar.
Costa Brava is situated on the Mediterranean Sea along a rocky coastal shoreline. Had a great lunch watching the waves roll up the beach.
Everything enhances by our guide Mario. Very interesting and entertaining on this full day excursion. Highly recommend him as a guide.
We were very much looking forward to our day on this tour although expensive, we were excited. I don’t feel that the guide Mario was informative or experienced enough. We were looking for more of the Jewish settlement area in Girona, and all we were shown was two little locations very disappointed, there was very little information provided in Pals and all we did in Costa. Brava is be dropped off and taken to the restaurant that he chose for our lunch. He left us there to do the Seitz but didn’t tell us anything to do and then we returned home although the tour looks and sounds interesting I’m not sure I would recommend this definitely not worth the $700 we spent
Excellent driver and guide. Described to Viator we wanted and they did it to our liking. Even went beyond and made us lunch reservations at a restaurant I could only describe to them because I had forgotten the name.
Our private Girona and Costa Brava tour with Ventura was great!! He showed us so many beautiful places and told us the history of everything we saw. It was a very special and relaxing trip with my family. Venture is a great guide and he went above and beyond for my mother who has some mobility issues. The tour was so beautiful and we definitely enjoyed all the places we visited. This private tour is a must it was a highlight of our trip!
We had an AWESOME day with our guide Xavier! He was an excellent historian and tour guide, and he showed us all the perfect spots in Girona, gave us history and context for the monuments we saw, and took us to some great photo spots! In Calella, we ate a delicious lunch right on the beach front and had some time to relax and enjoy the sunshine and the beach. It is a beautiful beach town in Costa Brava and having a local guide helps! I recommend Xavier and this tour - our family really enjoyed this day!
Maria was very nice and he tried keeping us engage and we enjoyed his company. He took us to all the places was listed in the tour.
We were picked up on time by Reuben, a pleasant gentleman. We drove in a small Kia with air conditioning. Our first stop was Girona, the main reason we chose this tour. Reuben shared a lot of information related to Game of Thrones, which was interesting even though we don’t follow this show. We had hoped to learn more about the contributions, traditions, famous scholars of this once thriving jewish community of Girona prior to the expulsion. However Reuben’s knowledge was minimal at best. He showed us the Jewish museum but could not tell us anything within the museum, He showed us the Mikva, without saying what it was or how it was used. When finished with Girona, we traveled on to Pals and eventually Tossa de Mar. While Reuben was a very pleasant man, it was very disappointing that he was so deeply lacking in historical knowledge and stories as a tour guide.
As an added suggestion to the tour company, it would have been a nice touch to have a water bottle for each of us, for such a long day n a private tour.
Miquel was an outstanding tour guide; he was knowledgeable, funny and very attentive to our group. The visits to Girona and Pals were incredible and lunch in Calella facing the beach was fantastic! Very pleased with the experience and, if ever back in Barcelona, will definitely want to book a tour with Miquel!

The tour to Girona and Costa Brava was fabulous. The tour guide, Senny, was amazing! He was knowledgeable of the history and traditions of the area, and made the tour fun and interactive. Definitely recommend this tour if you want to get out and see medieval cities and a beautiful coastal town.
We had a great, memorable day with Anatoli, visiting Girona and the Costa Brava. As a family of 4 with 2 teens, I appreciated how Anatoli was flexible and helped customize our itinerary on the spot to fit our interests and schedule. He shared a lot of information and history of the region that enriched the experience. Highlights were going up to the city walls in Girona and having lunch on the beach with a lovely view.
My son and myself had a wonderful time during this trip. It is a private tour, so you get picked up by car. We visited so many places - mainly the girona, Costca brava, medieval palaces to breathtaking scenery . Our guide Chema was wonderful, courteous, caring, deep conversations, enriching knowledge about the history ! There was never a dull moment during this trip. You could customize according to your needs! Chema was very energetic, very good driving skills, kept answering plethora of questions I had about the history. Also very personable and great sense of humor. You would certainly enjoy this trip
Gio, our driver, and Mohammed, our guide were wonderful! They picked us up at our hotel on time and we had an interesting full day with excellent commentary, great food and photo opportunities.

We enjoyed our day with Reuben. Visited Girona, Pals and Tossa De Mar. Reuben provided clean air conditioned transportation and was very knowledgable. Pickup at 9am and I think we were back by 5-ish??? It was an incredibly hot day and in hindsight I might've preferred to spend more time at the beach in Tossa De Mar??? Hard to say, but both Girona and Pals were unique interesting towns. We ended up picking up sandwiches and a fruit cup at a grocery store in Tossa De Mar to avoid wasting time at a sit down restaurant.
It was amazing walking the streets and learning about the towns we visited. So much history and so much beauty. It’s quite a shame, though that the citizens of these towns use so much graffiti. I highly recommend this tour if you are a history buff and also into architecture. Additionally, lots of Game of Thrones sites if that’s your thing.
Our guide, Maria, was great on this private Gaudi tour with my family. We were able to personalize our tour by selecting the primary Gaudi sites that we wanted to go into - Park Guell, La Sagrada, Casa Batllo. Maria was extremely informative and efficient as she easily navigated the crowds and helped us to better understand Gaudi and his work. Would highly recommend!
