I really enjoyed this course. It was well-organised, good recipes, delicious outcome 😋 The instructor was nice and friendly, we had lots of fun talking with her. The group was quite big but thanks to good structure of the course, everyone could participate in making every dish. It was fun to get to know other participants, too. I can definitely recommend this activity.

Great Experience - A Must Do

Katrina_M, Feb 2026
Vasia (V-A-S-I-A) was amazing. Super friendly, knowledgable, and funny. She was a great guide and instructor. We took a trip to the market and learned about the customs and history of those who shop there. The cooking class itself was phenomenal. We made so much and it was all delicious! Dolmades, Spanakopita, Tzatziki, Stuffed Eggplant, and Orange pie. The Dolmades were my favorite and everything was adjusted for the vegetarians (me) in the group. Vasia creates a really relaxed and fun atmosphere in the class and her instructions were precise and easy to follow. Everyone else in the class was lovely and friendly and eating all the food together at the end was very fun. Highly recommend taking time out of your visit to Athens to get a chance to create some wonderful Greek food.

Must do!

A fun afternoon

A delicious experience in Athens. We started with a walking tour of the markets, which was so interesting to see. The food we made was amazing and we learned how much honey gets used in Greek dishes, which we still talk about today.

Good course, delicious food

An amazing glimpse to the Greek cuisine and culture

Oron_M, Dec 2025
Adoniya is the best of the best!!! We had a great experience, actually cooked delicious and traditional dishes. Adoniya guided the group in the best way possible, professional and fun and helped us get a glimpse of the Greek cuisine and culture. We try to take a cooking class in every place we travel to and this one is definitely one of the best.

Fantastic home cooking experience

Brandon_N, Dec 2025
Thanassius was fun, lively, and energetic. The food was amazing, and we learned things we never knew before. This was by far the highlight of our stay in Athens.

Very good!

Jenna_v, Nov 2025
I loved it! As a solo traveller, I was able to make great connections. Also, we got to take the left overs, so for me it was enough to have dinner twice!

Do It!

Julie_B, Nov 2025
We had a great time and met people from all over the world. Vasia was great, very knowledgeable, fun/dry sense of humor that kept us all laughing through out the day! At first we were confused about going to the market. We thought we had to go there to purchase what we had to cook. That’s not the case at all. The market was super interesting and not something we would have gone to had she not taken us there. All & all it was a great experience. Highly recommended and well worth the money spent!

Excellent

The instructor is a national treasure. So silly and fun while also being helpful and encouraging. I was expecting it to be fun but it was even better than expected.

Awesome cooking class....

Awesome cooking class. Teacher was so funny and lively. And I will definitely try the dishes at home.

Great food and new friends-highly recommend

Leslie_C, Oct 2025
We had a great time. Vasia was knowledgeable and entertaining. We had classmates from Germany, Belgium and England and it was fun to spend time cooking with them and getting to chat with eachother. I highly recommend this.

OPA!!! Good time preparing food.

Dolores_O, Oct 2025
Fun fundamentals of preparing Greek dishes. We enjoyed the group and the trip through the market. Reminds you of Fulton fish market, Seattle Fish and Chinatown in NYC only a smaller scale. You don’t cook only prepare each dish and it is cooked in the other room.

You start by taking a walk through the market - which is very close by - then come back for cooking. Our host was great. Everyone got a chance for hands on prep and some cooking. We cooked 5 or 6 dishes - I was surprised it fit the time, but it was spot on. Then we enjoyed our feast! Note: location is up some tight circular stairs. I think that might be mentioned in the description.

Opa!

It was great! The market shopping was interesting and the food we made was delicious! The wine was fine as well. Totally worth it.

Family style cooking class

Holli_K, Oct 2025
Set menu. It’s family style so if you are not into groups this isn’t for you. The food was good and the recipes were not difficult, but you need to purchase a book to get them. It goes really fast and we had fun meeting all of our co-cookers. The instructor was very funny and her staff really kind and helpful. Overall, very enjoyable and recommend!

Fun, Hands On Cooking Class

Nancy_B, Oct 2025
We spent four hours learning, laughing, cooking, (dancing!), and eating along with a group of 12 fellow participants. Tharnassus taught us traditional cooking techniques and told stories of the role of different types of foods in Greek traditions and life. We toured the local market to pick up ingredients, then cooked and ate family style. So much fun and delicious!

Truly delicious food and fun atmosphere

Leah_C, Oct 2025
Every dish tasted amazing—even cooked by all of us non-Greeks. I liked the olives and grapes to snack on while we cooked. Vasia was hilarious and made the market tour and cooking time fun. I liked how she had us introduce ourselves to the group. The space is elegant and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly—just the right size for an experience like this. I would have loved to learn some simple Greek to practice buying foods and even bartering at the market. There probably was not time for that, however.

Fun experience!

Lynnette_B, Oct 2025
Fun actually vity that was very family friendly. As a solo traveler I was placed with a group that consisted of a large extended family with several younger children that many people may have found off-putting, but our host handled with grace and patience. The market tour was fun and enlightening, and preparing the meal was fun, although I'm not sure why we went to any great lengths to mark which pieces were ours that we'd made as they all got mixed up in the end when it came time to eat what we'd made. Regardless, the food was delicious, and the experience enjoyable.

Outstanding cooking class.

Wayne_S, Oct 2025
A great class lead by a charming and engaging teacher with wit and fun. The food was excellent and instruction clear.

Fun group activity in Athens

Susan_R, Oct 2025
This was a fun interactive activity for our group of eight friends. Our chef, Thanos was great as both cooking instructor and cultural informant. We learnt a lot about the lives of Greeks through their food. Wonderful experience!!

Great Greek cooking class

Mark_G, Oct 2025
Well organised and a lot of fun with our guide/ cooking instructor who not only knew how to cook but made it very entertaining. Highly recommended.

Learning family food traditions in Athens

Karen_M, Oct 2025
This was the most amazing activity!! We explored the nearby market, which had everything you could ever need for a cooking class. We made dolmas, stuffed eggplant, YUM, then phyllo dough spanakopita, my fav, tzatziki. Both the tzatziki and the spanakopita I will definitely make at home. It was so fun to share the prep with others at our table gave us a chance to get to know the others from many different homelands. The women who taught us all these new recipes was a great teacher, sharing family recipes for these Greek meals. I would highly recommend this experience to everyone who visits Athens, Greece. Something we will remember and do at home for our friends and family. Loved everything!!

Fun Greek cooking class

Fun and easy

So fun! And the food was delicious. You make the meals mostly as a small group, but our chef made sure that everyone was able to participate. A few people also come up and clean after you frequently—the best kind of cooking!

Food connects the world

Douglas_K, Sep 2025
We had experienced this cooking class once before and loved it. Since we brought friends to Greece this time, we felt they would also enjoy and benefit from the whole experience. I believe that's exactly what happened. We shared it with a multinational group of wonderful folks from Canada, South Africa, Switzerland, Australia, and the US. The wonderful food we created and consumed together sure bridged that diverse group. Antonia and her team are simply efficient, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be with.

Great value and outstanding experience!
