Operating Schedule: From Athens center to Temple of Poseidon it takes approx. one to one and a half hours depending on the traffic conditions. We stay at the monument area approx. 2 hours. After the sunset we begin our journey back to Athens. Time of departure and arrival can vary depending on the time of the year because we schedule the tour according with the hour that the sun sets so our guest can enjoy the best of it! The instructions said to show up 15 min early at a bus stop with dozens of other buses coming by. The actual bus arrived 1 hour later with no explanation why, only to stay and wait. We arrived in time for sunset, however, the description said Temple tickets were NOT included but the tour guide said she was sending out tickets (and I had bought them separately so what a waste of 40€ there). Book another tour as this was so confusing
It’s a long drive out there and I’m not 100% sure it’s worth it. All the staff were incredible lovely. Good driver, getting on the coach had a lovely women at the stop helping to greet and organize, the tour guide was absolutely lovely. However 2 hours there and 2.5 hours back for two hours on site wasn’t worth it. The cost is 20 euros/pp to get in was more expensive than I thought. We got some food to eat as we were hungry so that was personal choice and another cost. The sunset it’s lovely. The temple is great. Nice pictures. However I wouldn’t bother to recommend the journey out for only that.
The stop was lovely. Be aware, it costs 20 Euros each to get into the site where you can actually see the sunset.
The bus driver blared rock station music over the loudspeakers the entire time we were on the bus. He only turned it down when passengers asked him to, but did not turn it off. This interfered with trying to listen to the Vox. There was only one Vox for every 2 people so we had to share them. Between the loud music and only having one earpiece neither I nor my husband could hear the narration.
On the way back, there was a bomb scare (it was an actual real bomb) so streets were closing everywhere. The bus driver had to let us off at the first stop (we got on at the third). To his credit and I do mean credit - our tour guide, Vasilis Thanos, got us safely back to the subway station near our hotel. He was wonderful and went out of his way to do so.
He also did as good of a job as possible with the lack of Vox boxes and the blaring music from the driver.
The photo stops along the way were ok, nothing to brag about. The Cape and Temple are a must-see. It's a great way to see the Cape from Athens.
Excellent trip, well worth the money.
Tour guide very helpful & informative. The scenery was also beautiful.

Recommend this tour. Easy meeting spot in Omonia Square. Thanos was our guide and he did an excellent job. Friendly, knowledgeable and communicated details well before the start. Great value for the experience. The sunset view was gorgeous to witness and the Temple of Posideon should not be missed. The view of the ocean from the height of the temple grounds was something special to witness. One thing to plan - eat before your take the trip. The restaurant at the site has a good drink menu but the quality of the food is poor.
The actual sunset was nice and the restaurant at the bottom of the hill. The drive out was nice but definitely take snacks or premade meals (like sandwiches or something easy) with you or prepare to eat as soon as you get there at the restaurant. You get back extremely late so you’ll definitely want to eat before leaving to head home.
The weather was a negative factor: clouds, rainy, cold, windy. No sun at all. Restaurant service was abysmal. Twenty minutes before a waiter finally came to table. Average food. Below average service. Great staff person at meeting point. Driver was excellent, including narration en route. Wish I had not booked in advance.
Got passed around from one hop on/off company to another. Finally got the right company. Wasted 75% of our tour time.
The bus ride to the temple was ok.
We cannot review the actual experience because the bus driver never gave us a chance. He was to pick us at the old parliament building he parked further down the street we tried to get to him but he only stopped for about 30 second and then took off. When we called he said he would wait further down the the street it was just a 4 minute walk. Maybe for some people but not for 2 over 70 women in 100 degree weather. We saw him again ahead of us but he took off again. We called again. He said to get a cab and meet at another location he would wait 3 minutes. With traffic and road construction we were unable lot find a cab in time so we just gave up. Maybe the experience is as good as sold but we will never know
Hoo on Hop off bus access was easy. Staff always helpful with support and suggestions. The Sunset Cape Sounion Tour was brilliant. It was an opportunity to experience the beautiful coastline of Athens plus seeing the Temple of Poseidon before sunset and at sunset
We enjoyed the Cape Sounion Sunset Tour. It was very well organised and we received regular communication through WattsApp from our tour guides. There is a lovely restaurant where we had a great meal. Entrance to the temple was not included in the price though - €10 per person but worth it.
The general city hop-on-hop-off was very boring and not worth the money.
Beautiful sunsets. Be prepared to have dinner there at the small cafe or bring some snacks. You hang out for two hours to wait for sunset. You also need to buy a ticket for the entrance fee. The guide was really good.
Great value - 2 day pass was perfect , made it easy to get around Athens and see key sites . Sounion trip very well organised , excellent guide - overall fabulous
We were overcharged 10 Euro each for the trip. I wrote to your organisation and have received no explanation,
Sounion itself, the bus driver and the Tour Leader were excellent. But Viator as a platform is overcharging without declaring what this 28% charge is for.

for a 2 days hop on hop off bus and the Sunset tour
you had theoption to choose also on Viator the tour only to Sounio which is 35 euros
We answered to you via email and if you didint need the hop on hop off bus you could ask to change the tour.
All tours are offered on Viator with the best price and all details in the description of each product for the travellers to choose what they need.
The your to Soinion was great. However, hop on hop off part was not so. The maps and timetables were misleading, the stuff could not clearly explain the routs and transfers. The electronic guide was a minute late and did not make any sense.
Everything was wonderful. Our driver was so friendly and pleasant and gave us a chance to stop at a scenic place to take photos. The ride was so smooth!
The only disappointing experience (which was not so bad) was the sunset that I've been looking forward to--hence, this tour was called the Sunset Tour. I didn't see the sun.
Very unorganized, after two hours arrived at location two hours early. Was not informed that the park fee was not included. Not the best sunset ever, Beach House Restaurant in Kauai is much better.

Probably you have confused our combo sunset tour with another product or service.
Firstly There is no parking fee, Our guest arrive within one hour from the center of Athens to Cape Sounio in a semiprivate tour with a organized group professional driver and a guide.
Parking fee in Cape Sounio doesn’t exist in general.
Secondly island Kauai as you say is not in Greece

It was a great experience, such a beautiful setting. My only complaint would be the van held 20 people. We had 19 people. We were the 3rd stop to be picked up, my daughter and I are not very tall, but we're squished into the last row. Then for the return, everyone took their same seats so back row. I would suggest only booking for 16 people max.
The trip out to Cape Sounion was well worth it , it was well organised and i was messaged on day of the trip about what pick up point i wanted picked up from , the mini bus driver was cheery and you got head phones with information about all the sights you were passing on the way
The hop on bus was easy to use and it was handy being able to get on varies coloured buses as it ment there was less waiting time , but they ran approx every 5 mins anyway

Vorneweg: Der Sonnenuntergang am Poseidontempel war definitiv super schön! Jedoch war der ganze Ausflug jetzt nicht überwältigend, vor allem die lange Busfahrt (es ist kein Open Stop Bus) zieht sich. Am Kap Sounion selbst gibt es wirklich nur den Tempel und ein Restaurant, ich hatte mir etwas mehr Leben dort vorgestellt. All in all, war schön und der Tempel ist ein Besuch wert, das nächste Mal würde ich es aber mit einem Tagesausflug im Süden verbinden :)
