We used Viator for several of our activities in Rome and Athens. It is not user friendly. Not at all. Instead of having your ticket in the app after purchasing, you actually receive an additional email letting you know you have to go somewhere else to validate your ticket. They do not make it easy to do this. It’s very confusing to find the meeting spot and it’s not marked. One time it was just a man standing outside a restaurant.
Regarding my Athens experience, I did not thoroughly read the email that was sent after I purchased the ticket. Apparently I had to choose a time to go to Acropolis /the Parthenon. I didn’t do that and so the time was assigned to me early in the morning. We did not get off our cruise until that time and there was no way to make our appointment. Viator was not very accommodating and wouldn’t work with me. I end up having to buy another ticket on site. very frustrating. I will not be using Viator for of my trips going forward.

In Rome, we use a ticket collection process to give customers the flexibility to choose their preferred time slots for top attractions, since many sites require advance reservations.
For Athens, we do list the time range for visiting the Acropolis on our website, and we can help adjust your assigned time if contacted — though this is only possible up to 24 hours in advance due to site regulations. We're sorry for the inconvenience caused and agree: reading all post-booking details carefully is very important, especially with timed-entry sites.

My wife and I are experienced travelers and have taken many tours with different companies. The Instructions for this tour did not work as advertised. My wife and I tried multiple times to follow very confusing instructions for converting voucher into tickets. We tried contacting VIATOR on Sunday morning when Acropolis ticket office could not help us (and they tried mightily). We bought replacement tickets at Acropolis ticket office and had a wonderful experience - with zero thanks to VIATOR. We then bought alternate tickets from different sources for the other sites advertised in this package. We will NEVER USE VIATOR AGAIN. We will tell everyone who asks NEVER USE VIATOR.

The Athens City Pass provided the best experience. We saw all the attractions such as Acropolis, Agora, museums and so much more. No waiting in line or being turned away for entrance tickets. Hop on Hop off Bus which was close to our hotel provided all transportation we needed while in Athens. We downloaded and printed everything and carried the two sets of tickets with us and were accepted everywhere. We saved a lot of money with this pass. Viator will continue to be a go to travel service as we visit the USA and the world. Thanks Viator!

The most memorable part of the tour was the Acropolis! We enjoyed exploring the site very much & would recommend this experience to everyone who plans to visit Athens. We did not like the lack of logistic info and felt that it should be forthcoming as to where to catch the hop on/off bus and what to look for. We also found it frustrating & confusing that the literature stated different times and days of used than what was initially understood. We were able to work through logistical problems and overall enjoy the tour.
