Marten was very knowledgeable and extremely flexible. He tailored our excursion to meet our requests and would change whenever we saw something that was of interest. My granddaughter and I both loved our tour, so I recommend him for people of all age groups.

The description is misleading as it included “Anne Frank museum” (her picture is on the Advertisement for the tour contributing to the confusion) leading one to believe it includes a tour of the Anne Frank House but it does not. That is why we purchased the tour and we’re disappointed that it was not part of the tour. The description says it ends at the Anne Frank house (admission not included) which I interpreted to mean that I would need to pay the extra price for admission which I was fine with. However, tickets to the museum must be purchased separately and several weeks in advance. Be aware if your desire is to tour the Anne Frank House and don’t make the same mistake I did.

Our guide Ari was very knowledgeable and helped us understand the area as well as the subject of what it was like for Jews. He adjusted his schedule to meet ours and made it very interesting!

Tour guide 45 minutes late. During the tour, she walked fast ahead of us in spite of being asked to slow down multiple times and tended to go 6-10 feet ahead of us. She walked in busy bike paths when there was sidewalk and she crossed against red lights with traffic, left us on the other side while we waited to be safe with crossing busy intersections. She was asked to speak next to us so we could hear her better and she did not. She had to be asked to stop so we could take photos.
She pointed out the buildings and was repeatedly asked to discuss architectural and historical information, she did not. When directly asked questions she was evasive or said that she did know. Based on the information from you website we did not go in any of the free stops along the way and some facilities were closed due to her being late. In fact, she was unsure what the tour was to include until we showed her the printout of trip expectations from the website.

Thinking I had purchased tickets to the Anne Frank house and finding out we were not going to see her house and walking around the city instead. I felt manipulated by a website into purchasing the wrong tickets.

Viator refused to refund us for this tour even though the guide no-showed as we were there early and waited past the time for the meeting. Yet we were charged for this tour. It was pouring rain - likely the reason why the tour guide no-showed. This is incredibly frustrating. We not only showed up at the proper time but we waited in front of the main entrance of the Tuschinski Cinema as instructed.
In case there is any doubt, this receipt proves we took an uber from our hotel to the designated spot. I would not trust this tour guide going forward, nor Viator. After spending over $750 on Viator tours (6 of them) on this trip - their lack of customer service - when it counts - really leaves a bad taste.

This was a great tour. Well worth the time. I was very moving to see places from history. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and not only told us about Jewish history, Anne Frank, she also told us about the history of Amsterdam itself. She was friendly and patient.
Don’t forget ticket for the Anne Frank house which you have to get separately. Thought I had read about it time and again, actually seeing it was moving beyond words.

Marten, our guide, was very friendly and very informative. The almost three hours disappeared and he told the history and stories of the Jewish culture and Amsterdam history. He pointed out many items we plan to revisit.
At end he showed us where the Anne Frank museum was ( must buy on line separately- do at least thirty days ahead) and pointed us to a great lunch spot.
Highly recommend this tour. Thanks Marten!

My daughter and I traveled in January, took this tour early the morning after we arrived. It was a leisurely walk, and the guide was very informative. My daughter was 12 at the time, and the guide was careful to tailor information to that age and expand where I encouraged. It was a great few hours.

Our guide was outstanding. It was an extended walking tour, Having visited the Anne Frank house the day before on our own the walking tour focused on Jewish history/sights in Amsterdam and Holocaust impact on Amsterdam. Parts were very moving as related to the Holacaust

we were very disappointed on this tour we were promised by Viator agent that we can visit Anne Frank house if we requested it to the private tourist guide it is even printed on your descriptions of private tour so when we talked to him he said he cannot do it , the tour is so tiring we walked almost 2hrs but the guide Stein is very professional , knowledgeable and helpful
