We had an incredible experience on our hot air balloon ride with Rusty! He was not only a skilled pilot but also very informative, sharing interesting facts and history about the area. The views were absolutely breathtaking. We ended the ride with a lovely champagne toast, which made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable adventure!

My cousin came from New Year just for this. Her trip was short and they cancelled the Hot Aur Balloon ride. So unhappy with this.
Response from Host, Oct 2026
We’re very sorry your cousin wasn’t able to experience her hot air balloon flight during her visit from New York. We completely understand how disappointing that is, especially with such a short trip, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disruption the cancellation caused to your plans.
Hot air ballooning is entirely weather-dependent, and we do our best to keep our guests updated as we monitor conditions leading up to their flight. Unfortunately, the conditions that morning would not have allowed us to provide the safe and enjoyable experience we want for every guest.
We’re always disappointed when we have to cancel a flight too. We truly want to fly our guests, and there is no benefit to us when we’re unable to operate. Safety, however, always has to come first.
We provided a 100% refund, and we’re truly sorry the weather didn’t cooperate during your cousin’s visit. We hope she’ll have another opportunity to experience a hot air balloon flight in the future.
Thank you!

We loved watching the process of the balloon being prepared to rise. I had never seen a balloon stand up, so it could float over our world. Our pilot Bill was wonderful and very professional (and funny.) I don't know the names of the setup crew but they were all very precise and professional, and friendly. The ride itself could not have been any better. And the mimosas were icing on the top.
Response from Host, Oct 2026
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the entire experience, from watching the balloon come to life during inflation to taking in the beautiful views from above. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with Bill and our crew—they’ll be happy to hear them! And we agree, mimosas are a pretty great way to finish a morning of ballooning. Thank you for flying with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure!

Bill was an excellent guide giving us information. It shows that he loves his job. The views were spectacular and the landing impressive very gentle. This was our first Hot Air Balloon ride but I don’t think it will be our last. Although the early wake up time was a challenge it was well worth it. Definitely recommend if you are in Temecula,

The ride is peaceful and the employees are astute and understanding! We stayed at the Pechanga casino. In doing so I stayed up and gambled all night. Yes the pechanga is less than 20 minutes away from the bolero winery. However mind you I woke up 5 minutes after the balloon was scheduled to depart and they still waited for me. They are the reason I made the ride! Had they not taken the time or the extra mile to call me I would have missed the flight. Also my balloon pilot was quite knowledgeable on every aspect of the hot air balloon. Whether it was testing his 37 years of piloting experience or even the history of “The Hot Air Balloon.” Also one pilot to another, “flying a hot air balloon doesn’t make you a pilot! Finding freedom in the wind/ air is when you know you are a pilot!

It's great to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful flight and appreciated your pilot's knowledge and experience. Sharing the history, science, and art of ballooning is one of our favorite parts of the adventure. We especially enjoyed your perspective as a fellow pilot—there truly is something special about finding freedom in the wind and experiencing flight in its purest form.
Thank you for choosing Grape Escape Balloon Adventure. We hope to welcome you back for another flight in the future!
I understand that this may be cancel for safety reasons & weather conditions but to inform you on the spot or like waited till 6 to inform you is unreasonable. I live in LA, my friend and I drove to Temecula at 3am just to be there on time. Waited and got cancelled. There is a weather forecast for 2 weeks how is it not possible to just inform the client atleast a night before like to advice that there might be a chance of cancellation for this package because of the weather, so atleast the customer can decide to go or not. With all the prices increasing now especially the gas?! For the gas alone we spent $70 for nothing plus other expenses there like for food.. which could have been avoided if there was an advice prior to the date.
Response from Host, May 2026
We completely understand how disappointing and frustrating this experience was, especially after making the early drive from Los Angeles. It’s disappointing to us as well, as we truly wanted the opportunity to fly with you and provide the experience you were looking forward to.
While weather forecasts can provide general guidance days in advance, hot air ballooning is extremely dependent on real-time conditions such as wind speed and direction at multiple altitudes. Unfortunately, those conditions can change significantly overnight or even within minutes before launch. Because safety is our absolute top priority, final flight decisions sometimes cannot always be made until the morning of the flight after pilots complete updated weather evaluations and on-site assessments.
We do try to provide guests with as much notice as possible whenever conditions appear questionable. Preliminary weather reviews are typically done the afternoon prior, but there are times where the forecast still supports a possible flight until closer to launch time. We understand that this can be inconvenient, especially for guests traveling from out of town, and we sincerely apologize for the disappointment this caused.
We truly appreciate your understanding that safety must always come first, even when the outcome is frustrating for everyone involved.
What a fantastic dream like experience. Well organized and felt 100% safe the entire time. The views were phenomenal.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so happy to hear your flight felt safe, well organized, and truly unforgettable. There’s nothing quite like seeing those phenomenal views from above, and we’re glad it felt like a dream come true. We appreciate the kind words and hope to fly with you again someday!
We had a great time for my girlfriend’s birthday. We arrived early, checked in, and got assigned to Pete as he was on the birthday balloon. It was fun and we floated around Temecula but remember that you can only go where the wind allows. I wouldn’t go again because I’m not a big fan f heights but my girlfriend is already planning another ride. I also got the Bundt cake for her and it was delicious
Bill and the Crew did a great Job of entertaining us.
The balloon ride was a success. They went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent experience soaring above the birds. Great crew and pilot. So much fun to see the balloon get inflated and taken a loft. Really worth it.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the experience of soaring above the birds and watching the balloon come to life—it’s truly a special part of the adventure. Our crew and pilot will be happy to hear your praise. We’re so glad you found it worthwhile and fun, and we hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable flight soon!
Very smooth and professional ride. The direction are wonky. Search out the Bolero tasting room through the main metal gate not the Europa village which is a large parking lot and then you have to weave your way through the large building to the other side of the building if you enter through the village parking lot. The champagne at the end is lovely.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad you enjoyed the smooth and professional ride and the champagne celebration at the end.
We also appreciate your feedback on the directions—it’s very helpful. For the easiest access, we recommend entering through the main metal gate and heading directly to the Bolero Tasting Room. We’ll continue working on making our directions clearer so guests can find us more easily.
We hope to welcome you back again soon!
