Loved this tour - 'feel good' atmosphere, great music and an excellent way to experience Memphis's musical history.
Sit back, enjoy guitar and singing as he gives a guided tour. Check if your ticket includes a tour of the Sun Studio..we got off the bus not realising until they rang to check our whereabouts, but we'd ordered food by then.
Cecil Yancy is a gem. He not only is a fount of knowledge about Memphis and music but he makes it fun. Never sang along on a tour bus before but enjoyed every minute.
Tour was very much as advertised- bus with live entertainment. Very nice review of the history of Memphis music.
Just one problem…AC on the bus was absolutely inadequate. We were sweltering the whole time.
This was truly one of the best tours i have ever been on. The information gained about the early music scene in Memphis was so incredible. I highly recommend this tour.
Knowledgeable tour guides and multiple items to check out. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour around town.
Wonderful overall experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour was just the right amount of time
The meeting point was easy to find. We really enjoyed the tour the singer was great and very informative about the history of Memphis. Well worth the money
Fun tour with a very knowledgeable guide and hit the highlights of Memphis. The guide even performed our favorite Memphis related songs along the way!.
The guide was superb. His knowledge of the history of Memphis, vocals and guitar on songs and personality were outstanding. Sun studio was nice also. They both exceeded my expectations.
SO much fun. One of the highlights of our weekend in Memphis. The tour guide was fabulous! Learned so much about Memphis music history.
This was a fun, interactive tour through Memphis full of history, music and entertainment! Cecil was knowledgeable, fun, personable and sharing with his group. We never had a guide that shook like Elvis, killed liked Jerry, and hurt like Johnny!
Shout out to Michael (I hope I caught the name right) for driving us through Memphis like we was running late for church and for bringing us back safe with nothing damaged but our vocal cords!
Lots of fun! Highly recommend!
I have done this tour before and loved it. I recommended it to my sister & her kids and it turned out really poorly. The rear AC did not work at all and when we questioned whether there was AC at all the tour guide was rude. “It’s summer in Memphis,” was his response. I had cracked open a window and he admonished me for doing so. Turned out the fan was not working in the back where we were sitting and it wasn’t until I expressly told the bus driver at the pit stop at the Overton Park Shell that the bus driver addressed it. Four passengers got off the bus at the Shell and refused to reboard. The tour guide had been rude to them as well. Lastly, after passing the Civil Rights Museum, another passenger had to get off and was sick on the street. The poor woman seemed elderly and overcome with the heat!! Ridiculous. Her companion got off too and stayed with her and we concluded the tour without them. Again I have done this tour and previously had a very good experience. That was in December, however, so we didn’t have AC issues. There should be 1) some kind of checklist where the driver ensures all systems are operational and 2) the tour guide needs to be service minded and not be rude to customers.
Fun and informative. Different than your regular city tour. More interactive and entertaining than most tours I’ve been on.
There is lot more to Memphis then just Beale st. Significant black history sites. Beale st is only one block and blocked off to traffic
This is such a fun way to see the sights and learn tidbits of history that you may not hear otherwise. The music was good as well.
This was so much fun. Music was spot on to the history being told. The music was great! The entertainer was so much fun and had a great personality.
Live music, Great tour guide. Bus picks you up at a bar on Beale St. You can get a drink and enjoy the tour.
Amazing Tour that was well worth the money! Our guide was amazing and full of knowledge!! Highly recommend!
The singer was very good with different types of music. He was also very interesting with all of the facts and history of Memphis.
We really enjoyed the Mojo bus tour and found it to be both entertaining and informative. The guide was a great singer who kept the atmosphere lively while sharing lots of interesting facts about the history of Memphis music that we didn’t know before. The visit to the Stax Museum was worthwhile and informative too, although it was a little smaller than we expected. The time there was about right before heading back on the bus. Overall, it was a fun way to learn more about Memphis’s rich musical heritage, and we’d happily recommend it.
The narrator/musician on the bus is very knowledgeable and a skilled musician. He’s the reason behind the success of the tour. The bus driver is great, too!
Energetic and Informative - this tour highlighted key places in Memphis in an entertaining way and Emily is a wonderful performer!
Fun and informative. Good introduction to Memphis music history. Guide plays guitar and sings as you go.
The entire experience was excellent. The tour guide was amazing and very entertaining. The entire experience was very enjoyable and we learned a lot about the Memphis area. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable too.
A unique tour that goes all over the city and gives an insight into the birthplace of rock n roll. Fun!
Great host His music and information was superb. Really enjoyed it Learned a lot. It made our two day trip. Would definitely recommend
This was a fun tour that I would definitely recommend. We learned all about Memphis music plus some additional history and heard some great music. It was just the right length of time! Do it!
Excellent tour,we chose the Stax included tour, then the bus tour with Guitar playing host. Lots of great facts and music. Highly recommended.
It's a great trip. I would recommend walking through each neighborhood you come across on the trip..
