We meet in the Train Station Parking Lot on College Drive (Near McDonalds). Look for the Mild to Wild sign and benches to the left of the parking booth. There is a $10 fee to park for the day payable upon arrival.

Not as expected or as advertised. Our bus driver was knowledgeable and proficient but was uncertain about the remainder of our trip. We were left for at least 30 minutes at a public restroom. He eventually returned with a 20+ year old modified Chevy truck saying we were stuck with him for the day. He did pass out blankets which were helpful but went to offer us water and granola bars but they had not been packed. The worn out padding in the modified truck was insufficient in providing any comfort during the extremely rugged and dangerous road we were taken on. The driver, an older gentleman, turned out to be an excellent driver and we were all happy to have survived the trip. He also had to stop and get out of the truck to talk to us about what we were seeing instead of using the speakers provided in back of the truck. I assume the system wasn’t functional. Overall the trip wasn’t worth the price. Why the nicer new modified jeeps seen in their film advertisements weren’t used is unknown.

Many of our guests prefer our converted trucks vs the jeeps due to the forward facing seating orientation. We will review how we can implement your feedback with our team. It is a top priority to ensure the tour is advertised transparently. Additionally, we have verified that the speakers on all our tour vehicles are functional, however we will continue looking into why they were not used on your tour. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the stops along the way and your guide shared interpretive info there. The tour is designed to be interactive with frequent stops to explore geologic, ecologic, and archeologic points of interest away from the vehicle. Finally, it is concerning to hear you did not have snacks and water on your tour. They should always be provided on the tour, and we are currently verifying the situation with our operations team to see if there is anything more we can do to ensure a mistake like that doesn't happen again in the future. Its a trip of a lifetime especially if you get Tim. He was very kind and generous and informative. Went above and beyond .

This tour takes place rain or shine, and today it rained all day. However we were all troopers and ‘made it through the rain’ though we all got wet and cold. Saw many points of interest and were also able to see the beginning of the trees turning into their fall splendor. Real downside to the trip was that due to the weather the train back to Durango was cancelled and we had to come back by bus.

It was a waist of money.
The tour guide was usless brought us into the middle of a forest.
I should really ask for a refund.

Alex was an AMAZING guide. We had so much fun on this tour. He really personalized it to our small group (us and one other family), gave excellent recommendations for our time in silverton and was just all around fun to learn from.

It was a great experience. One of my party was not a great rider and we expressed that and they put them on a horse that was not great. That was my only complaint.

I would not use Viator again. I purchased a package including train tickets on the Duran Durango Silverton train which was a gorgeous wonderful ride, but Viator failed to actually purchase the tickets so we had to Hassel around to get seats on the train which was full. The train ride itself was absolutely delightful, but Viator sucks.

The Jeep tour was the highlight of our trip. We had Jay and Tim as guides. Jay is in his 14th year doing these guides and it was a fantastic, fun ride. Jay knows the area and history very well. Tim was learning how do this work and he is going to be an excellent guide. Very personable and a great sense of humor.

The train is not included with your price. You have to purchase tickets for train separate if you want to get back to Durango

We had an incredible experience! Our tour guide Jay Bird with Mild to Wild was so fun, personable and made sure felt comfortable during our Jeep tour (it was cold and raining) He gave us blankets and took time to show us the beautiful sites of Silverton Durango. You have to purchase a separate ticket for the train ride back… which I did not know initially when I booked. The online tickets were not available but Will with Mild
To Wild helped me get the tickets I need to get back to Durango. Both Will and Jay went above and beyond. The train ride back was absolutely breathtaking. It was our first time to Durango and it was our favorite excursion during our trip. Highly recommend!!

We had a rattle trap Ford pickup hard to get into and out of, the ride was ridiculously rough, then no tickets for Train like advertised. I will never be usin6thus company again.
