Top Ithaca Day Trips

Explore the Finger Lakes on a self-guided drive around Seneca and Cayuga Lakes, blending waterfalls, wine country, and American history. Four must-see stops anchor the journey: towering Taughannock Falls, the birthplace of the women’s rights movement in Seneca Falls, lakeside Belhurst Castle, and the gorge trails of Watkins Glen State Park. Along the way, discover scenic byways, vineyard overlooks, nature preserves, and sweeping lake views. Purchase one tour per car, not per person. Everyone listens together! After booking, you can check your email before downloading the Tour Guide App by Action, entering your unique password, and accessing your tour. The preceding steps require good internet/Wi-Fi access. Simply follow the audio instructions and the route from there. New, Lifetime access, no expiry. Use it anytime, on any trip, as many times as you want. This is not an entrance ticket to attractions along the route. Check opening hours before your visit.

Drive Seneca Lake yourself, with a GPS audio guide that plays automatically as you go. Your booking unlocks the whole lake in the free Wine Trails app: pick your date and starting point, Watkins Glen or Geneva, choose the wineries you want from the 42 mapped along Route 14 and Route 414, and the app builds your personal route with turn-by-turn narration. Narrated stories cover the people behind the tasting rooms: Konstantin Frank and Hermann Wiemer, who proved European vines could survive these winters, the four growers who opened Glenora in 1977, the Fulkersons on land their family has farmed since 1805, the castle at Belhurst, the salt beneath the lake and the Seneca Drums. No group, no schedule, no guide; stop for lunch in Hector or a walk through the Watkins Glen gorge, replay anything, and the audio keeps working when the signal drops between the vineyards, because everything downloads offline. You'll need a car and a designated driver; tastings are paid at each winery.

Enjoy a picturesque wine-tasting in Keuka Lake. Don't worry about how to get to each vineyard, as our designated tour guide will drive you between tastings. Take in the breathtaking scenery of the Finger Lakes region as you sip your way through four different wineries, learning about the area's unique varietals. A premium tasting experience with pick-up awaits, with the option to add lunch at Bully Hill.

Enjoy a guided tasting tour around Seneca Lake, in New York’s Finger Lakes wine region. Visit four different wineries, enjoy educational tours, and sample diverse regional varietals while enjoying scenic views. Leave the driving to someone else so you can fully enjoy your day of wine tasting. An added lunch option is also available.
