Having a Great Guide Brings Ercolano to Life!

If you are deciding between Pompeii and Herculaneum, do not miss Herculaneum—and make sure you do it with a guide! Exploring this remarkably preserved ancient city was an absolute highlight of our trip, and having an expert guide made all the difference. Because Herculaneum was buried by volcanic mud rather than ash, the level of detail is astonishing. Seeing original wooden beams, two-story houses, intricate mosaics, and even carbonized furniture intact after nearly 2,000 years felt completely surreal. It is much more intimate and remarkably well-preserved than Pompeii. What truly elevated the entire experience was our phenomenal guide. Their depth of knowledge, passion, and storytelling ability brought the ancient streets to life. Instead of just looking at ruins, we understood the daily lives, culture, and tragic final moments of the people who lived here. Every question we had was answered with incredible detail and enthusiasm, and they navigated us perfectly through the site to highlight the absolute best preserved spots. This tour was deeply fascinating, educational, and moving. I cannot recommend visiting Herculaneum with a knowledgeable guide enough

Really more a transport service to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello although some commentary during the drive. Amalfi and Ravello have more to do than Positano which is just a crowed shopping town. Would rather have more time in Amalfi (church and lunch and boat ride) and Ravello (villas and gardens and church). But at least got to go to the places.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Pompeii Experience! We had an absolutely amazing experience and could not have asked for a better team. A huge thank you to Nina, Daniele, and Mariagrazia for making our visit to Pompeii such a memorable part of our trip to Italy. Nina was our guide during the drive and was fantastic from the very beginning. She was friendly, welcoming, and made the journey enjoyable and comfortable. She gave us great information along the way and made sure everything was organized and running smoothly. Daniele was our driver and did an excellent job. He was professional, punctual, and most importantly, we felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the entire drive. Mariagrazia was our private guide for our two hour walking tour through Pompeii, and she was incredible. Her knowledge of Pompeii and its history really brought the ancient city to life for us. She explained everything in a way that was interesting and easy to understand, answered all of our questions, and made sure we were able to see and appreciate the most important parts of Pompeii during our time there. Highly recommend, great day!

Highly recommend! Our guide throughout the day handed us over to Tomas for our tour at Pompeii. He was very knowledgeable and knew how to get around the crazy parts as Pompeii can be very busy. The tour went seamlessly and felt quick and he made sure we got to see the whole city. Then our guide met us at our meeting point and then made our way to lunch at a restaurant which was very good and you have the option to ask for the real menu and pay à la carte if the lunch provided doesn’t suit you. From lunch, we made our way to Mt. Vesuvius. We did the hike to the crater, it’s uphill and can be challenging on a hot day but definitely something cool to experience and see! Highly recommend this tour.

A Great Day

This excursion packs a ton of experiences into one day! We started with a drive to beautiful Positano. It was worth the hair raising drive to expensive this gem of a town. After a little time to poke around we headed to the town if Sorrento. We had more time here to shop, eat, etc. our last stop was the ruins in Pompeii which are just amazing. Our guide Ciro was great- informative, funny and capable as he managed our day and got us back to port right on time. This day was a real highlight of our cruise and trip to Italy!

Excellent Tour; A couple notes however.

Excellent excursion. Exactly as described. You have two guides: the first accompanied you to the start of the the Vesuvius hike and afterwards until you enter the Pompei ruins. The Pompei guide takes over after lunch. Very good hike up Vesuvius. Audioguide provided interesting information. Tour guide at Pompei also was excellent. A couple notes: the time allowed at Vesuvius should be 15-30 minutes longer. .We are strong hikers but the time to take in the views felt rushed; slower hikers may have trouble completing it on time. Also, you are given one hour free time between Vesuvius and Pompei for lunch on your own. However, the guide put on a very hard sell for one particular restaurant which he then lead most of the group to, and disparaged all the other restaurants in the area as tourist traps. We disregarded the pressure and had a wonderful and less expensive lunch at one of the other restaurants.

Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi day trip

It was worth taking this trip because it covered multiple historical areas in a very comfortable setting. Although the tour guide was exceptional cover I never do these trips just because they feel that there is too much of a formality to everything but he was great with his knowledge of everything, giving us history of the locations and so on. The driver stephano was great, there is just in some incredibly tight roads and sharing it with other drivers and large buses could be challenging, but he handled like a true pro common definitely recommend this trip to anyone that's interested insane some wonderful areas that are incredibly historical and beautiful. A+

Really enjoyed the day trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius. The guide was very nice, friendly, and everything was well organized and on time. Lunch was great too, especially the pizza! Pompeii was very busy, but that was expected. Overall, an excellent day trip and definitely worth doing.
