What are people saying about Milan

Anna was exceptional. She...
Anna was exceptional. She guided us through all aspects of the tour especially the subway (Metro), train, boat ride on Lake Como and ferry ride to Varenna. She was like a mother hen guiding our small group of only 13 through the trip. Her knowledge and description of each town were great. The tour lasted approximately 10 hours with time for independent exploration. The entire experience was breathtaking!

Nice tour of a great opera house
This tour provides a brief tour of the opera house itself and a more detailed tour of the museum in the building. The museum is probably geared more towards those who go to operas, ballets, and classical music concerts and have some familiarity with them. I found it very interesting and enjoyable, as it highlighted photos and memorabilia of many of the great performers from Milan and Italy. We did get to see the interior of the opera stage and seating areas however only through a window from one of the boxes. For me and some guests this was fine, as we were planning to see a show that evening. However if you are not seeing a show at the opera house you should be aware you probably won’t be permitted to enter the actual show room itself. It is a beautiful opera house, and I am pleased to have done this tour and see a concert there as well.

Duomo/rooftop tour
A bit crazy gathering for the meeting place next to the crowds in the Piazza di Duomo, but once we got started, our guide Silva was very organized. She did an excellent job providing historical information and interesting anecdotes about the Duomo and Milan itself. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Silva as your guide.

Very good but long trip, but get the panoramic train version if you can
This was a very good but very long all day experience from Milan to St. Moritz to Torino and then back to Milan. Recognize that the train ride itself is only about 2 hours and 40 minutes long. The scenery during the train ride is excellent and there is some very good scenery during the long bus ride. You can get some good but expensive lunch in St. Moritz. So, overall I recommend the trip, especially if you have never been to Switzerland otherwise. However, this was not the best tour of our trip. Be aware that there are two versions of the Bernina Express train, one with “ordinary train” windows that slide halfway down, and a second type with tall curved “panoramic train” windows. We did the version with the ordinary train windows and were satisfied. However, I wish we had done the version with the panoramic windows. The ordinary train windows are acceptable when slid open as in summer, but I suspect would be too cold and/or dirty in other seasons. The panoramic windows would definitely be better in colder seasons. So do this trip, but pay extra for the panoramic windows train if you can afford it.

Italy’s most cosmopolitan city slows its urban pace for no one, and these Milan tours will quickly get you up to speed. Tick off highlights like the Duomo, La Scala, and Leonardo’s Last Supper in just a few hours, leaving you plenty of time to explore the city’s lesser-known treasures with a guide, join a personal shopper to browse its fashion and design, or experience the buzzy local culinary scene. When you need a break from Milan’s go-go vibe, take a day trip to nearby Lake Como or hop on the Bernina Express scenic train to the Swiss Alps.
