It was amazing The pilot was great so was the young lady at the statue where we met. The driver who picked us up both ways was so good. Very knowledgeable. Everyone was super knowledgeable and polite and welcoming. It was fantastic! The pilot had music to go with narration about the area. It was truly a perfect experience!

Van picked us up on time next to visitor center. At the plane we were given safety instructions. The pilot, Sean, was wonderful. Very experienced, skilled, and knowledgable about the entire area. He explained everything we saw in this amazing area. After landing, he took photos of each of us with the plane. We would recommend this advrnture.

Itinerary

Meet your pilot in Ketchikan and climb aboard your floatplane. During the flight, your pilot shares commentary via your headset, which also offers a musical soundtrack.  Ascend over Tongass Narrows, a body of water located between Ketchikan and Gravina Island, and fly past Ketchikan. Stare in wonder at the beauty of Tongass National Forest as you soar over Revillagigedo Island to Misty Fjords National Monument, about 40 miles (64 km) east of town.

Traveling through a low-hanging mist that gives the region its name, take in views of fjords, cliffs, and rock walls jutting straight out of the water. Waterfalls cascade down narrow granite passages, and dense forests of hemlock and spruce cover the vertical slopes.

Your pilot navigates over Rudyard Bay, giving you a fantastic vantage point of New Eddystone Rock, a remnant of early volcanic activity. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife like wolves, bears, deer, and eagles.

Your floatplane tour ends with drop-off back in Ketchikan.

What a great experience we saw the wilderness of Alaska like not many people see it Our pilot was phenomenal wish I could remember his name, I have been in many small engine planes with lots of pilots, I watched this guys touch on the throttles and pitches and he was obviously an expert with years of experience and loved his job. . And his narrative was as good as his flying Also I have never flown in a beaver which is one of the most iconic great north airplanes of all times BONUS This was so worth the cost we did 5 or 6 excursions in Alaska and this was by far our favorite

what a DREAM of an excursion!! i’ve done MANY excursions through MANY companies in MANY different locations, but this excursion is BY FAR my favorite excursion to date! i felt like i was a character in a movie. the pilot had us zipping through the misty fjords national monument w/ a fun and upbeat aviator inspired music playlist playing on our headsets. we had multiple animal sightings (and, by that, i mean we saw multiple mountain goats 🤪). the total flight time was right at an hour. the plane size was intimate, but comfortable! everyone had a window seat AND an aisle seat and there was honestly so much more space than i was expecting! at the end of the flight, the crew dropped us off at our cruise port. would recommend to family, friends, and strangers alike!!

Great day to fly we got to experience sunny and misty fjords. Some of the intercom talking was hard to understand. When sitings of bears/whales, would have appreciated turning the plane so both sides can see it. Maybe more of a script to tell about the fjords.

I was able to switch trips on short notice due to the weather so got out on a nice day. Very easy to work with. Andrew was the pilot and did a fantastic job of narration as well as pointing out wildlife. Spectacular views and very helpfull assisting passengers in and out of the plane. This was an amazing experience! It’s an hour flight but it goes by fast because the beauty all around. We had a prerecorded commentary in earphones and the pilot would insert his own commentary and add tips. The process was simple- picked up at the visitor center and transferred via van tanquan air (about 10 minutes away). They also drop you back off at same place - next to dock. Great experience for our first time in Alaska!

Met us on the dock by the bronze statue for transfer to the floatplane. The staff were great and the views were stunning - got so close to hills and snow capped mountains. Was in the air for just over an hour of the two hour experience. Commentary and music on headphones throughout - we were on the bigger plane for 10 passengers ( one sat next to the pilot) where the back seats had blankets provided as a bit chilly winds from the door!!! So try and get in first up front if you can - but would highly recommend this bucket list experience 🤩 Have your cameras ready !!!

The flight alone was majestic! The staff was all very friendly. My complaint was that the ad for the trip lists a 2 hour duration but the flight itself is only 1 hour. The 2 hours includes transfer to and from the pickup point by the tourist center.

Poor communication for cancellations

This is some of the worst communication I've dealt with as far as an excursion. I originally booked an excursion for 8am where we were supposed to meet 10 minutes before at 750. I get a call at 743, 7 minutes before we're supposed to meet, that the tour was cancelled due to fog. Now I don't blame the company for the fog because that's completely out of their control. But contacting me 7 minutes before the tour starts is something that is completely in their control. But either way, Megan called and told me they could move me to the 945 one. Perfect. Fast forward. It's 945 and I’m at the meeting point. No one from the company is there and we were supposed to meet 10 minutes beforehand. In my mind I'm like it can't be cancelled because surely they would communicate that right? Nope. I had to call them just for them to say "Oh hold on, oh yea, that excursion was cancelled again" Again, I don't blame the company for the cancellation but communication to let me know this was absolutely horrible and I wasted a morning because of it. And at this point it was too late for me to book another excursion before my cruise ship left because I had spent so much time waiting for the company to communicate to me that the tour was cancelled.

The trip was in a seaplane with about 8 or so passengers. You each get a window seat with good views. The pilot was very friendly and gave an excellent commentary pointing out places of interest below interspersed with relaxing music. The flight goes along the coast so you get excellent views of the terrain and amazing scenery. Something we would love to experience again. Would very highly recommend.
