This trip was SO much fun! Dan was knowledgeable, charismatic, & quite funny! Ali was sweet, attentive, & enthusiastic. They took excellent care of us. From pick up, which was easy to find, we went across to Douglas Island, got fitted for our bikes & helmets, & took off! This e-bike experience was my first & now I want one! It was just the little boost I needed to get up the hills. They took us to really cool places I wouldn’t have known how to get to. Their knowledge of the local flora & fauna was awesome! We even got to eat wild blueberries!! I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who thinks it sounds like something they’d like. If you’re on the fence, let this be your sign: do it! Thanks Dan & Ali! Great job!! Lemon Liz, Jam Jeremy, & Mango Maya

Do NOT book if there is any possibility of rain in the forecast. First, let me mention, I realize there is a cancellation policy in place. I understood it when I signed up and I get why companies do this. There are employee salaries and other costs to cover from a business standpoint.
While I understand that, there should be some discretion involved as well. There had been rain forecast for our three Alaskan cruise stops days before our trip. We had excursions for all our stops and were keeping an eye on the forecast during our cruise.
Ketchikan had rain forecast for the day of our stop there up until the morning before our day there. Luckily there was no rain and we went through with our excursion there and had a blast riding electric bikes and hiking along Lunch Creek Trail.
There was also rain forecast for our last stop the morning of the stop in Skagway. This was forecast of rain was up to the start time of our excursion at this particular stop. We also went through with this excursion and really enjoyed the adventure park and zip line tour.
Both great experiences.
Unfortunately our stop in Juneau and our experience with this company was entirely different.
First, the meeting point instructions weren't accurate.
We were looking for a "Segway sign" per the instructions and we couldn't find anyone with such a sign. A short while later we found the person there to meet us, holding a different sign.
More importantly it rained in Juneau from the moment we pulled into the pier until the moment we left. We were hoping to have this company understand that we didn't feel comfortable riding in the rain and the rep there to pick us up didn't provide any assurances we'd be fine riding in the rain other than stating "yeah, it always rains here, we're just used to it". No description of the ride was provided, no info on the traffic conditions surrounding us was provided and no alternatives were offered.
We told the rep we'd like to cancel. She called her boss and was told there'd be no refund due to their policy. No discussion, no offer to pay a discounted rate. I would have been more than OK to pay for one of the two tickets for their inconvenience... but absolutely nothing was offered.
This is just a warning to all, if there is any apprehension of riding in the rain, and even the slightest chance of rain is in the forecast... cancel according to their policy to get your money back and not have to pay for services not received.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you chose not to join the tour and that your experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know.
All of Southeast Alaska is part of the Tongass National Rainforest, and rain is a normal part of our climate. While wet weather is common, we never operate our tours in unsafe conditions. Our eBike Rainforest Adventure takes place on North Douglas Island in an area that often experiences significantly drier weather than downtown Juneau due to a local rain-shadow effect. Because weather conditions can vary greatly across Juneau, we do not cancel tours based solely on a forecast.
On the day of your scheduled tour, it was raining heavily downtown. Our guide explained that conditions at the tour location are often different from those at the cruise docks and that the tour would still be operating safely.
Safety is always our top priority. Our eBikes are designed to operate safely in wet conditions, and our guides provide training and support before every tour. Many guests arrive concerned about the weather and ultimately tell us afterward that the tour was one of the highlights of their Alaska vacation.
Regarding the meeting location, we appreciate the feedback. We have reviewed and corrected our arrival instructions to ensure they are as clear as possible for future guests.
We appreciate that you understand the purpose of our cancellation policy. Our 24-hour cancellation policy is applied consistently to all guests because equipment, transportation, and staffing are reserved in advance. While we certainly understand weather concerns, forecasts in Southeast Alaska frequently change and often differ significantly from actual conditions at our tour location.
We genuinely regret that you did not have the opportunity to experience the tour itself, and we wish we could have shown you the beautiful rainforest, mountain scenery, and local areas that so many of our guests enjoy. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the very best in your future travels.

Christian_P, May 2026
This was such a fun experience. The mix of biking and site seeing was perfect. I also loved how much I learned about the landscape along the way. I’m not the most amazing biker but riding the e-bikes wasn’t hard at all.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for sharing your experience! We love getting the chance to share Alaska with you. Exploring by eBike is an incredible way to feel the thrill of the outdoors while taking in all the beauty along the way. Our guides do an amazing job bringing Alaska to life for our guests.
Jennifer_J, May 2026
Great new e-bikes. Clear instructions. Easy to ride. Fantastic commentary we learned a lot about Juneau and the rainforest eco system. Saw a whale and an eagle
Response from Host, May 2026
The eBikes are amazing! And our guides do an thorough job teaching guests how to ride them properly. How wonderful that you could see such great wildlife! Thank you for joining us!
Helie_R, Sept 2025
James was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about town history, landmarks, and forest trees. I wish the ride had been along a dedicated bike trail instead of a road, but cars were quite sparse, so that was all right. Lovely views and beautiful forests. The only downside was the pouring rain on the ride back.
Response from Host, May 2026
We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed your time riding eBikes in Juneau. Across all our affiliates, websites, and advertisements, we highlight that our tours take place along the scenic paved bike trail that follows the road on Douglas Island. The ocean views along this route are truly spectacular, peaceful, open, and far from the downtown crowds.
Juneau is part of the Tongass National Rainforest, the largest temperate rainforest in North America. The rain is part of what makes this place so special. It brings out the deep greens, the misty mountain views, and that authentic Alaskan atmosphere you can’t find anywhere else. It’s all part of what makes the experience memorable.
Gregory_N, Sept 2025
Shorter ride than I expected but still a fun time. The guides were great and the bikes were very easy to operate. Beautiful day with Mendenhall Glacier across the bay in a distant view.
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Thank you for joining us and for sharing your experience. Our overall ride is a total of 10 miles, which is a nice balance for both experienced and new riders. It may not feel that long because the ride is so scenic and beautiful! Along the way, our guides stop to show you various sites, such as the Mendenhall Glacier.
Paul_M, Sept 2025
We rode e-bikes over into the rain forest area and then took a short hike through the forest over to the ocean side. The guides told us about the area including information about the history the plants and wildlife etc. it was very enjoyable, interesting a d beautiful. Awesome views of nature
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Thank you for joining us! It really is a beautiful and interesting ride. Beautiful because of all the amazing sites you get to see of the coastal and rainforest life and interesting because of the fun details you get to learn about life here in Alaska.
Robert_B, Sept 2025
Allison was great. She not only lead us on a great & beautiful ride (saw glacier & forest!). She told us a lot about Juneau that friends who didn’t take this tour missed out on. The bikes and the van are very new. My first e-bike ride ever and it was easy and fun. Small group was a bonus.
Response from Host, Sept 2025
Thank you for joining us! Our guides are awesome and really make each tour a personal experience! Its a unique one of kind tour that really shows you Alaska!
Jennifer_M, Aug 2025
Super fun bike ride. Beautiful scenery and amazing little hike. Felt like a private tour. RJ and Phoenix were great guides. Super knowledgeable about all of Alaska.
You still had to pedal but was very easy since it was an ebike. Great family excursion!
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you for joining us! I am glad you family had fun! Our eBikes are Class 1, pedal assist. These are not the throttle eBikes but require pedaling to move. The eBikes have a setting that allows you to adjust how much assistance you want, so pedaling is easier. Its great for providing a range of activity level for guests!
Melissa_M, Aug 2025
Good tour. We saw a bald eagle. We enjoyed the hiking part of the tour more than the biking experience.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience! How awesome that you could see some Alaskan wildlife! Our eBike tour including riding as well as a small hike through the rainforest. Both allow you to see new things and experience Alaska in a different way!
Barbara_L, Aug 2025
This was great! Very informative experience and super fun bike ride on trails, not just highways! Tony and Keily were amaze-balls! Highly recommend.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Our eBike ride is done along the bike path of Douglas Island. It is a beautiful ride as you get to admire the ocean view of Alaska. Thank you for joining us!
Robert_M, Aug 2025
The guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was a beautiful ride and hike. The e-bikes make the ride very pleasant.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Isn't the Alaskan scenery stunning. Our Class 1 Pedal Assist eBikes make riding easy and fun. You can also adjust the level to include the type of exercise you want. It's fun riding fit for everyone!
Karla_S, Aug 2025
If we hadn’t done this excursion in the rain, it would have been much better. We actually rode on the highway to get to the rain forest. Fortunately the road wasn’t too busy and the vehicles were very good to get over. It was along the coast so I’m sure on a nice day it’s a pleasant ride, but not so much in the rain.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! I am sorry that the weather was not what you hoped for. Juneau is a part of the Tongass National Rainforest, one of the largest Rainforests here in North America. Rain is very common here and we owe the rain for our beauty. Many guests have really enjoyed riding in the rain as it can add to the adventure and authenticity of their Alaskan experience. I am sorry this was not the case for you. That being said, we ride rain or shine - making lasting memories along the way! Thank you for letting us share our Juneau with you!

Aren't eBikes so awesome! They really make pedaling easy and riding fun for everyone! I am so glad you really enjoyed our tour with our guides. Thank you for the high recommendation!
Scott_T, Aug 2025
This is an easy and fun way to explore the northern side of Douglas island, across the Gastineau Channel from downtown Juneau. The ride is entirely on a paved road, but begins past the developed part of the island so you won’t encounter many cars. The road has wide shoulders and the hills are few and gentle—it’s a mostly level ride. You get great views of the Mendenhall glacier and can see kayakers and canoes in the channel. At the end of the ride, the guides lead you down a short hike to the water’s edge. They stop at several points and explain the ecosystem and how this part of Alaska was formed. They were knowledgeable and friendly.
You don’t have to have any previous experience riding an e-bike. They provided different sizes to fit most riders, and clearly explained how to operate the bikes. They adjusted the seats for everyone, and gave time for everyone to practice and acquaint themselves. They stopped a couple of times on the ride at picturesque spots. One guide led the ride, while the other stayed at the back to make sure no one ran into any trouble.
You can adjust how much “boost” the e-bike provides, so you can pedal as hard or as little as you want to. The bikes had gears, but you really didn’t need to shift gears to get up the gentle hills.
This is a great way to see some of the area around Juneau that most tourists will never see. Highly recommended!
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful review. And thank you for highly recommending our tour! I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed the ride out on Douglas Island—it’s such a peaceful stretch of road, and those views of the glacier and the channel are some of my favorites too.
I’m happy to hear the guides made you feel comfortable and supported throughout the experience. They genuinely care about making sure everyone feels confident on the bikes, and it sounds like they did a great job helping you settle in and enjoy the ride.
It means a lot that you noticed the little things—like the stops to take in the scenery and the short hike to the water’s edge. I love that part of the tour because it gives folks a chance to connect with the landscape in a deeper way, and the guides enjoy sharing what makes this part of Alaska so special.
Thanks again for joining us and for recommending the tour. I hope the rest of your time in Juneau was just as memorable!
Amy_B, Aug 2025
Super fun experience with great guides- Tyler and Darin! Very knowledgeable about the area and just fun overall. We were spoiled with amazing weather! Highly recommended this adventure @
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Thank you for recommending our eBike Rainforest Experience! I am so glad you got nice weather! Juneau is a rainforest, so the weather is not always what we hope. That being said, we do our tours in the nicest part of town, where weather is less rainy and intense! That makes riding more fun!
Pamela_O, July 2025
We just completed the Perfect ebike trip in Juneau with Carli and Darren as guides! Amazing! Highly recommend.
Response from Host, July 2025
Thank you for highly recommending our eBike adventure! I am so glad that you found it was perfect!
Terri_A, July 2025
Phoenix & RJ were excellent guides. Phoenix did a great job of sharing his knowledge about Alaska and the rainforest! The bikes were in good working order. They provided everything we needed; from water to gloves and even snacks! The views of the mountains/glacier were breathtaking! They got us back to the ship with plenty of time and offered to drop us off right at the ship, which we regretfully declined to shop(lines for the shuttle were extremely long). Highly recommend this adventure!
Response from Host, July 2025
Thank you for highly recommending our eBike Rainforest Experience! The views are awesome, and the riding is fun!
Patti_S, July 2025
This relaxing and informative tour was a wonderful way to see many beautiful sights, experience a hike into the rainforest, learn a lot about the flora of the area, and get in a bit of exercise too! Carli and Tyler were absolutely fantastic tour guides who made the experience even more fabulous. The e-bikes made the ride very comfortable, allowing us to work as hard (or easy) as we wanted. Highly recommend this tour!
Response from Host, July 2025
Thank you for highly recommending our eBike rainforest experience! I am so thrilled that you had an enjoyable time viewing the beautiful sites, learning about Alaska, and riding with our guides. Thank you for sharing your experience!
Kenneth_B, July 2025
This was a great ride and short hike. They provided instruction on how to ride the bike (for first time e-bike rider like me). They provided snacks at the bottom of the trail.
We were lucky with perfect weather, so I don't know how well it goes in the rain. The bikes were equipped with fenders for splash.
The ride wasn't difficult, and there were places for photos.
The guides were awesome and knowledgeable about the history and botany of the area.
I would do this activity again!
Response from Host, July 2025
Thank you for your kind words! I am thrilled your first e-bike experience was smooth and fun—and that our guides, snacks, and scenery made it even better. Come back anytime for round two!
Scott_N, July 2025
So amazing! The views were spectacular! Phoenix, our guide, was awesome! Very knowledgeable of his town and the surrounding area! Would highly recommend doing this excursion! We were able to see a few bald eagles, a seal and some salmon. Fantastic!!
Response from Host, July 2025
Thank you for highly recommending our tour! There really is so much to see as you ride along the coastline. And our guides are very good and pointing out the wildlife!
Lisa_A, July 2025
Our tour guides, Tyler and Darin, were friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and amazing! We did see some beautiful sights and enjoyed the short rainforest walk to the beach. The downside is that we were on a 2-lane highway the entire time. Fortunately, there were few cars, but we were expecting to be on a bike path and not having to stay on the shoulder of a highway. The bikes also could be maintained better.
Response from Host, July 2025
Thank you for sharing your experience! We strive to keep all our tour descriptions accurate for each affiliate and site that sells our tours. This includes the bikes being on a paved bike lane along a low traffic road. The views there are spectacular nonetheless! I am glad that you could still enjoy our tour and guides, and I am sorry that it didn't quite meet your expectations.
Catherine_N, July 2025
We were expecting more of a ride that was not so much on the road but on paths/trails in nature. The blend of inexperienced riders with more experienced riders was kind of difficult.
The tour organizers were amazing: Maddie, Tyler, and Phoenix- great job!
Response from Host, July 2025
I really appreciate you joining us and sharing your thoughts! It's wonderful to hear you connected with our team—they love what they do, and it means a lot when that shines through. That said, I am genuinely sorry the experience didn’t line up with what you were expecting. Our route does follow the roadside, and we aim to set clear expectations in our tour details for all our sites and all affiliates so this misunderstanding can be resolved. Regardless, the ride is great and the views as spectacular. Thank you for letting us share our part of Alaska with you!
Anne_G, July 2025
Rainy day, but made the most of it with our guide Phoenix. Enjoyed our stops & all the knowledge of the rain forest that he shared. Nice way to spend a couple hours, and experience an e-bike for the 1st time.
Response from Host, July 2025
Juneau is a part of the most beautiful temperate rainforest, so rain is quite common here. We always run our tours in the rain, and the best part is, they are still a lot of fun! Thank you for sharing your experience.
Christi_M, July 2025
We had such a wonderful experience with Phoenix. The speed of the trip was just right and we made lots of stops which helped my butt not get sore from sitting on a bike seat for too long. (I don’t ride bikes very often). Phoenix was a treasure trove of information about Juneau and answered all the odd ball questions we had. It was great to see a much less touristy version of Juneau!
Response from Host, July 2025
Seeing the real Juneau is important and can be hard if you are surrounded by all the touristy crowds. We do all our tours away from those crowds, so our guests get to really experience Alaska. Thanks for sharing your experience!
tracy_l, July 2025
Bike ride, minimal hills, hike through the rainforest. All incredible! Great way to spend the day! Our tour guides Dan and Ali were great!
Response from Host, July 2025
The eBike experience is easy riding! And the eBikes are adjustable so you can change the exercise level to you own desire! Thanks for joining us!
Nicole_G, July 2025
Gorgeous views, nice amount of exercise, knowledgeable tour guides that are very friendly. Loved seeing the waterfalls on the tour.
Response from Host, July 2025
The waterfalls are spectacular and so plentiful here! What I personally love about eBikes is that you can adjust the exercise level to your desire! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Leslie_J, July 2025
Loved the experience. Mix of biking and walked through the Rainforest in the middle of the experience. You bike on the road. Weather is iffy so dress for sun and rain. The walk needs waterproof shoes or at least water resistant. Would do again.
Response from Host, July 2025
Thank you for joining us! The nice thing about where we do our tours is that it is in a rain shadow, meaning it is typically better weather than the rest of Juneau. That being said, Juneau weather is something that everyone needs to prepare for, as it is a rainforest. Having layers and waterproof clothing is always something to consider when traveling to Southeast Alaska.
