Seattle to Mt. Rainier

Explore Mt. Rainier National Park's highlights on this day tour featuring glaciers, waterfalls, lakes, and old growth forests. From Seattle, you'll head to the park and take guided shorter hikes from the Visitor Center at Paradise, including a one-mile walk to a picnic near giant glaciers. See Reflection Lake, Narada Falls, and Christine Falls. In winter and spring (November-June), snowshoeing replaces hiking—no experience required.

Discover Seattle with our self-guided tour, exploring the Emerald City at your pace. Begin at Pike Place Market where fishmongers toss salmon and the original Starbucks has served coffee since 1971. Ride to the top of the Space Needle for panoramic views across Puget Sound to the Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. Explore the Museum of Pop Culture where Frank Gehry’s sculptural architecture houses exhibits on music and science fiction. Wander through Pioneer Square’s Victorian buildings where Seattle grew from logging camp to city. Experience Capitol Hill’s creative energy, Fremont’s quirky public art including the famous 18-foot Troll, and the waterfront along Elliott Bay. Marvel at Dale Chihuly’s glass sculptures displayed against the Seattle skyline. This Pacific Northwest gem sits between mountains and sea, where tech innovation meets outdoor lifestyle, independent coffee roasters outnumber chains, and the gentle drizzle keeps everything green in America’s Emerald City.

Seeing the highlights of Mt. Rainer National Park in one day can be difficult if you don’t know where to go and downright impossible if you don’t have a car. Make your trip easy (and leave the driving to someone else) with this small-group tour from Seattle. Depending on when you visit, you might see wildflower meadows, alpine vistas, and waterfalls, either on a hike or on a snowshoe adventure.

Explore beyond Seattle city limits with ease—and come face to face with some of the Pacific Northwest's most dramatic natural scenery—on this private, full-day trip to Mt. Rainier National Park. Head to the popular Paradise area of the park, home to the Jackson Visitor Center and Reflection Lake. Plus, stop to marvel at Narada Falls, which is taller than Niagara Falls, and admire views of the snow-capped peak.

One of the best times of year to visit Mount Rainier is in the winter months. When the days get shorter, the summer crowds head home, and the park turns into a true winter wonderland, come visit Longmire in Mount Rainier National Park! Stroll through the old-growth forests, where Douglas fir, hemlock, and cedar trees dwarf visitors. The bubbling natural springs tell a story of what lies beneath this abundant and volatile landscape. Experience the natural silence that takes hold as the snow dusted trees insulate the world around you. Learn the diverse history the Longmire area and how this region has attracted visitors long before it was a national park. After arriving at Mt. Rainier, you will get out to experience as much of the Longmire area as possible for the day. Explore beyond the vehicle during walks and hikes with your guide by your side the entire time. If conditions call for snowshoes, your guide will provide an introductory lesson on how to stay safe and enjoy your walk.
