What are people saying about Reykjavik

Fun, even when the weather doesn't cooperate
Great trip. Excellent driver and tour guide. Plenty of time to relax while being transported between main sites. Tour makes stops at convince stores or road side diners to stretch and get something to eat (not include, but reasonably priced). If you arrange pick up at a bus stop, the provider will return you to your pickup location, not just drop you at the BSI terminal. Plan to get wet at the waterfalls or from weather, water resistant clothing and some hiking boots will make it much more enjoyable.

Great first day activity In Reykjavik
We started our first day in Reykjavik with the walking food tour to get a feel for the city, culture, and history while learning where and what to eat while we are here. Our guide Bonnie was very knowledgeable and fun. She was also extremely diligent helping to manage a handful of different dietary restrictions for some of the participants, requesting alternative options from the eateries we visited, and advising what dishes contained which allergens. We really appreciated that a lot, since the 3 in our group could have suffered during our stay if we ate the wrong foods. Bonnie’s stories were very entertaining, interesting, and she had us laughing while sampling the great food of Iceland. Even the fermented shark was not as bad as one would imagine, for those who were brave enough to try it.

Great ending to our Iceland adventures!
A very serene and totally relaxing experience—also a little adventurous as well. The 7 step ritual was a totally new experience and the facilities are new and exceptional in authenticity. The thermal hot spring pool is not too hot so you can stay in it as long as you want. The view over the ocean or fjord is breathtaking. The sauna room has an entire floor to ceiling window from end to end of the wide room. The effect is breathtaking since it feels like there is nothing between the warmth you are basking in and the ocean. We enjoyed a snack at the cafe beforehand. The soups were delicious, as was the Icelandic burrata over pesto with tomatoes. Both were served with a hearty bread that I believe is sourdough. We liked that the ticket is for a day pass and you can take as long as you like without feeling rushed. This was our only scheduled activity on our last day and it was just perfect to relax and unwind after a full week of hiking and touring.

While we didn’t see any...
While we didn’t see any northern lights on the night we went it was not without effort! Our guide tried multiple spots and locations to try and see. Blankets were provided while we were outside which was great. Overall it was worth the effort. If the northern lights were viewable when we went we would have seen them on this excursion.
