Daniel, our hiking and...
Daniel, our hiking and climbing guide, was fantastic. His knowledge, humor, expertise, and skill set was perfect for our group. He made us feel safe and let us be adventurous all at once. I would highly recommend Daniel for your glacier hike and climb.

Excellent tour and guide
Veronica was an AMAZING guide, she was very knowledgeable, personable and full of energy and enthusiasm. She made the hike very fun. We got to see some very cool glacier features and spent a good amount of time on the glacier. Definitely a great excursion and we appreciate the company finding a new way to make it happen with the sudden glacier changes. Five stars for sure!!!

An unforgettable first ice cave experience
This was my first visit to an ice cave, and it exceeded every expectation. Our guide, Hawk, made the experience exceptional. Friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable, he combined fascinating insights about the glacier and Katla volcano with just the right amount of humor. He also explained how much the glacier has retreated during his years as a guide, adding an important perspective to what we were seeing. The Super Jeep ride was part of the fun, and once on the glacier, Hawk timed our visit perfectly so our group could enjoy the cave/glacier without feeling crowded. From the outside, the glacier appears almost black because it’s covered with volcanic ash, but stepping inside reveals beautiful blue ice layered with ash —a striking contrast that’s even more impressive in person. This was one of the highlights of my Iceland trip. If you’re considering an ice cave tour from Vík, I wouldn’t hesitate to book this one.

10000/10 experience!
This was such an amazing tour. We had the best time with our guide Ingo. We drove to the ice cave with a few picture stops on the way, and Ingo told us all about the geography and history of the area. The ice cave itself was fantastic, it was amazing to see the different layers and the landscape. We also did a bit of exploring afterwards to see different waterfalls and areas near the ice cave and on the glacier. We then made our way home with a quick drive across black sand beach. I would highly recommend this tour, especially Ingo!

Vik may not have an exciting name—it just translates to “bay” in Icelandic—but this town on the southern tip of Iceland is anything but boring. Sign a waiver, and within minutes, Vik tours will have you riding in a buggy along the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, exploring an ice cave under Katla Volcano, or snowmobiling above it on Mýrdalsjökull, the country’s fourth-largest glacier. Ziplining, paragliding, and kayaking (in a glacial lagoon) are all options if you go with a guide.
