Guide makes the best trip!
This was a fabulous experience from start to finish! Our guide couldn’t have been better! He was knowledgeable about the geological history, the glacier and also had stories of how the area had been used by modern day filmmakers. He was so much fun and made our day one of the best we had in Iceland!

Highlight of our ring road trip!
This experience was one of the highlights of our two week ring road trip. I have been on many atv tours all over the world but this one was the coolest. We went through many different terrains. Black sand beach and going through mud was fun but then we got to ride through a pretty big river which I had never done. But the best was seeing the abandoned plane. I had only seen in in pics but it was so cool to see in person and hear the story about what happened and why it was there.

All around excellent experience
The pre-trip communications were timely and informative, the on-site operations were well orchestrated, and the glacier hike itself was breathtaking and informative. Their customer service was excellent from beginning to end. We hiked with our 11 year old and two 14 year old boys, and they were able to complete the moderate glacier hike with some motivation from parents. It was the highlight of our trip.

Our Secret Lagoon
Checked in at appointment time. Watched a short video before removing footage. Then went to changing rooms with lockers to shower before putting on swim suits. Glad we brought our own towels. Two lifeguards were on duty. It was a peaceful and relaxing experience. Not as commercial as other lagoons.

Surreal amazing experience
Not sure what I expected, but this surpassed everything. From the superjeep ride across the surreal lava field, walking up and across the glacier, and of course walking in through and around some ice caves. The views.are spectacular. The experience is from another world. Highly recommend, despite the steep price.

Best Excursion I've Been On
If I could give more than five stars, I would. Eppi, our guide, was amazing. He knew so much about the island, its history and people.
We learned about the 1973 volcano, saw a ton of puffins and tried some Viking food. I will recommend this to anyone headed this way

Puffins Excursion
This excursion was truly extraordinary. We had the incredible opportunity to see the puffins, and it was an unforgettable experience.
Our day started a little shaky because the tender boats were delayed, which caused us to arrive later than expected. Despite that, Vjeran and Yarek waited for us, and their kindness and professionalism completely turned the experience around.
They were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour fun and interactive from start to finish. Their outstanding customer service and genuine care made this one of the highlights of our trip.
Thank you, Vjeran and Yarek for making this an unforgettable adventure. We truly appreciate everything you did!

Unforgettable experience! Highly recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Katla Ice Cave tour with Gravel Travel was one of the highlights of our Iceland trip. The ice cave itself was spectacular, and we were fortunate to have beautiful weather (above 20°C & sunshine) and a small group of just 14 people, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the cave without crowds.
The scenery outside the cave was equally breathtaking, with rugged green cliffs contrasting against the vast black lava sands. Every turn seemed worthy of a photo, and the landscape truly felt otherworldly.
A special thanks to our guide, Gunnar, who was knowledgeable, engaging, and full of great stories. His sense of humour made the experience even more enjoyable and helped make the day memorable.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting south Iceland and looking for a unique and unforgettable experience. 🇮🇸✨

Worth It
I had to lose 20 pounds in 3 months to make it under the 220 pound weight limit (including clothes, shoes, etc). They really do weigh you, so don't try to fake it. It was a very motivating goal and it worked. I got down to 212, which was needed and appreciated. It was a short ride, but very fun and scenic. Overall, it was worth it. The horses are indeed small, about 30% smaller than a quarter horse. They are very sweet and fun to ride. They have a smooth "tolt" gait and I would have loved to go for a full run down the beach (no go on that one). They ride English style which is only weird if you grew up riding Western style. You can tell the staff puts up with all us tourists because they love the horses, and think that's just fine. They were all pleasant enough. They all speak english fluently. Later in the day, we saw one of the guides training a horse out in the field and you could see the special bond they have. Overall it was a beautiful experience.

Amazing experience!
This was an amazing experience. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. It is a bit of a trek up to the entrance of the ice cave but the guide paused in a few spots to let people catch their breath and to ensure everyone stayed together. It is not a trip for people with mobility issues or small children.

One of our favorite...
One of our favorite experiences in Iceland. The glacier feels like another planet and zooming around on the snow mobiles is such a fun and unique experience. If you book for two you will share a snow mobiles but you get the opportunity to sway halfway, which also gives you both a turn to look around and enjoy the surroundings.

Land of Fire and Ice
Lava show in Vik (guided by Luis) introduced us to volcano science and Katla geopark. It was a nice way to learn a little about the area and its relationship/history with the volcano. We were going to explore the Katla geopark/glacier the following day, so the show gave me more appreciation for the landscape, the history, and the residents. Plus it was nice to sit back, share a beer during the show and remove some layers due to the rising heat of the room. (And the soup next door is pretty tasty too).
