An Unforgettable Navajo-Led Adventure – Ask for Tyron!

What truly made this experience special was our guide, Tyron. Being part of Diné tribe himself, he shared incredible personal stories, cultural history, and deep connections to the land that you just won't get from a standard tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and welcoming throughout the entire trip. A few things that stood out: 1.The Photography: Tyron is a pro with a camera! He helped us adjust our phone settings and pointed out the best vantage points to capture the stunning colors and textures of the slot canyon. 2.Private Views: We essentially had Horseshoe Bend to ourselves at their private overlook, which provided a much more serene and intimate perspective than the main public lookout. 3.The Experience: The unhurried pace and small group size made it feel like a personal adventure rather than a rushed tourist stop. Everything is worth the price!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If you’ve ever gone on a snorkel tour and felt like something was missing, this experience has it. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The yacht has all the amenities you could ever want - heated showers, clean bathrooms, grill, AC, wetsuit rentals, excellent snorkel gear. Everything about this experience felt intentional and high quality. We got great snorkeling at Molokini and saw lots of turtles in Turtle Town. You have to try them out

Makana Tours is impressive. From the moment we booked the tour, they had excellent communication with us. They gave detailed directions of how to fill out the online waiver form, to put in our order for lunch,. And then on the day before the tour, additional information of exactly how to find them (including pictures of the drive), where to park and what to bring. They are locals to the area and gave detailed information about where we were visiting. Any trip will show you the amazingly beautiful sites, but they did it with love for the area and sharing it with us like we are now part of their family.

Beautiful weather the day we went. Loved every minute. Wonderful tour. Great value for $18. Staff asked for $5/person tip, which was optional, of course. Parking cost us $10 but was very convenient. You park in the garage (a ticket is issued as you enter). You pay at a kiosk as you go back to the garage. The kiosk gives the ticket back but not a receipt. Upon exiting a man requires you to show the ticket again (had almost thrown mine away!). Also, as I didn’t get a receipt, not sure if actual cost is $10. Three to four hours were posted as $20, but kiosk said $10.

Be prepared to pay an extra $120 once you get there. The hundred dollars is a deposit hold the $20 is some kind of extra fee. None of this is explained in the initial booking when you already pay $120. Also they only accept cash and do not provide receipts for the $20 that you spend on arrival. They do have ATM however it had issues. Outside of that, the ride was fun!

EPIC - must do!!!

INCREDIBLE!!! In my top 3 most epic places I’ve experienced. I went at the 11:15a (March) time and it was perfect how the light beamed off the walls! 1hr, 1 mile, easy any age could do it, hardest part were the stairs down. I stayed in Sedona, it was WELL worth the 6hr round trip driving. Pictures do not do it justice. 70-85ft underground looking up. The guide explained how they were made, talked to us a little about the Native Americans history with the canyons, you get science and history lessons! They are EPIC with photography and really help you get the best shots.

Family loved this.

I have been to several luaus on Oahu and Maui, and this was by far my favorite. It felt like such a small local and intimate luau. The host was amazing and the dancers were incredible. We paid for premium seating, which was totally worth it. The host little son did a hula which was absolutely precious.

A wonderful way to spend a day!

We had an awesome day on the boat, snorkeling and enjoying the beautiful trip to Molokini. The staff was wonderful and kind (Nick, Christian and Maca) and Captain Kiwi was funny, knowledgeable and made the trip so worth while. I would highly recommend booking a day adventure with them, and it seems that everyone on the boat was having a wonderful time. It was our one big excursion on our trip to Maui and I’m glad we did it. Cheers and Mahalo to them!

Spectacular Nature Tour

This is a great small group tour that avoids the cruise ship crowds! The whale watch was expertly guided by Nia with a bonus jet boat ride back to the dock with Captain Jay. Sam took us directly to the Mendenhall Glacier visitor center. I had read how some have to walk some distance. The glacier and Nugget Falls are naturally spectacular. At the end, our guide/driver Sam dropped us right at the ship. That was a big bonus since rain was just beginning to fall. It was a great excursion.
