What are people saying about Tokyo

Fun and educational!
I booked this experience hoping to just play pretend samurai, but I left there with more than I expected! Hyoga took the time to explain some of the history of samurai in Japan and the meaning behind the language, movements, and techniques used. It was very interesting to see some of the similarities between what we learned and the anime I’ve watched over the years. It was educational, but we had a great time doing the fun stuff too! We got to use a katana, shuriken, and more! I recommend for the entire family.

A fantastic experience...
A fantastic experience that I’d recommend to anyone visiting Japan!
Sensei Sousen and our guide and translator Nono were excellent in guiding us through the 3 Japanese alphabets, making our own ink, writing the kanji for ‘samurai’, choosing kanji for our own name, practicing writing our name in kanji, and finally writing onto a t-shirt as a great souvenir (which is an additional optional charge).
It was such a memorable experience made better by the warm welcome and the great people we shared the experience with!

The Ultimate Kimono Experience (Yes, You Make It!)
I had such a memorable kimono experience! Getting there took a little effort—one train mishap and an Uber rescue later—but once I arrived, it was actually very easy to find.
From the moment I walked in, I loved the intimate setting. The experience felt personal, hands-on, and the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. I honestly wasn’t expecting to actually make my own kimono, so that was such a pleasant surprise. Watching everything come together—and then having the final piece perfectly tailored to my body—was amazing.
Of course, we can’t forget the accessories… because who doesn’t love a good styling moment? Everything came together beautifully.
The highlight for me was definitely the photoshoot. Aki and Rumí were so patient and made sure I got as many photos as I wanted—which is a big upgrade from my partner, who usually caps me at four 😂
I highly recommend this experience if you’re looking for something fun, elegant, and truly unique. You won’t regret it.
And to make it even more special, I walked away with not just a beautiful kimono, but also two wonderful new friends who made the experience even better.

Perfect blend of history, culture, hands-on experience
This was a wonderful and memorable experience - highly recommend. It was the perfect mix of history and hands-on experience. We learned so much and had a great time. We loved hearing about the clan history, the various weapons, dressing as a ninja, trying some skills out. The woman who owns the dojo (whose descended from a great samurai house) and the gentleman samurai and female scribe were great - so kind and knowledgeable.

A fun little activity to...
A fun little activity to do, we were really happy with our finished chop sticks. Surprised ourselves how nice they were.
The experience does include 3 standard wood options but as with everything there is and upsell, there are some beautiful wood options which are considerably more expensive so understand that and also they will do engraving of your name in Japanese for yen 1000, a bit pricey for what took a couple of minutes but it was a nice touch. Altogether we were happy with what we did and everyone teaching you were really nice and happy to help.

One of the best tours I’ve ever been on
This was an AMAZING TOUR the tour guide was nice, he started by learning all our names, he paid for a retro game for us, he ALSO paid for ice cream for us the places he took us were amazing, and there was never a time where we were bored. Amazing. Just. Amazing

Fun DIY experience!
The experience was very fun! It had a good edutainment aspect of value that I enjoyed. The ceramic was pre-broken for us to choose, I wish there were more style varieties to choose from. The instructions were very clear and the video was also easy to follow. I think it would be good to extent the estimated experience time to 1.25 hrs as it seems like people took extra time to create their kintsugi plates and ask questions. I think the value of the experience was quite worth it and they also sell a kit you can take home to try out.

Fun family class!
Wow! What a fun experience as a family of four. We were able to pick two pieces of long rectangular wood of our choice and make chopsticks using a tools and sanding. The instructions were clear and my 10 & 12 year old
could do it on their own. Everyone could sand the chopsticks down to whatever shape they wanted to make it more personal. We all got them engraved for 1000 yen extra. We had a great time making our own personal souvenir. Would highly recommend!!!

Such a fun activity! Wonderful host who gave a little history and walked us thru an easy enjoyable learning experience!
Really enjoyed the hour and half here! The host was a kind well articulated gentleman who gave an easily digestible history of the kintsugi art form before letting us try out a version of it made to finish something in less than an hour (versus months in the real kintsugi art form). The hosts helped in the more difficult aspect (cleaning, sanding, packing) and allowed us to do the easy gluing parts and fun/creative painting parts! Highly recommend for an enjoyable quiet short activity!

The Manga Class That Sparked My Creativity
Taking this manga class has been an incredible experience. The instructor created such a welcoming environment that made learning feel fun, inspiring, and completely pressure-free. I loved how each lesson broke down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-understand steps. I genuinely feel more confident in my drawing skills, and I’m excited to keep practicing what I’ve learned. This class reignited my creativity, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves manga or wants to explore a new artistic hobby.

We had a great time with Emi. We received the recipes for our selected dishes and met up in a kitchen studio. Emi was very kind and explained us what to do, step by step. The food was really good and we take some precious memories with us.
Our selected recipes:

This was a wonderful...
This was a wonderful experience for our family with 3 teens. The couple were delightful and great teachers. We learned a lot about different kinds of ramen and the ingredients that go into making a flavorful bowl. We prepared most of the ingredients and then focused on the goyza while the broth cooked. They did a great job instructing us on preparing and shaping the dumplings.
Go hungry and know you won’t need lunch after. We ate everything we made! It was all outstanding. Highly recommend!
