What are people saying about Rio de Janeiro

Unforgettable experience!
If you're wondering whether this experience is worth it, don't overthink it and just book it. It was one of the highlights of my time in Rio.
A big thank you to Henry for the excellent organization and communication from start to finish.
Everything was handled professionally and made the whole experience completely stress-free.
And an even bigger thank you to Andrew, who was an outstanding guide. He didn't just lead me to the top of Morro Dois Irmãos, he shared fascinating insights about the area, the local culture, and the history along the way. His knowledge, kindness, and enthusiasm made the hike so much more than just a beautiful walk.
He truly made the experience unforgettable!

Marvelous day in Marvelous Rio
Excellent day in Rio. Our guide Vitor, met us on time at our hotel in his comfortable van, including water and light snack, and suggested the perfect itinerary for our day. We are six adults, two from US and four from Argentina. None of us speaks Portuguese, but that was no problem as Vitor switched between English and Spanish easily.
Our first stop was Sugar Loaf mountain and the beautiful views from the top. Vitor gave us the history of the sight and pointed out buildings and neighborhoods. He also explained about the flora and fauna we saw.
Next we did a brief stop at Maracana Stadium, and again Vitor pointed out significant sights and gave their history along the route. He also gave the history of Brazil and Rio. We went past the sight for carnival parade and Vitor explained its history and perfectly described the floats and parade.
We then went to Tijuca forest. We stoped at many vistas throughout the park, each more beautiful than the previous. We learned about how the park was created and about the flora and fauna in it.
Last Vitor dropped us off at a bar we selected in Botofogo neighborhood. He provided suggestions for other activities for the rest of our stay in Rio.
We had a marvelous day in the Marvelous City. We highly recommend Gregtur for booking. They were informative and responsive to all our questions and very accommodating to all our specific needs. Vitor was pleasant, informative, and helpful. We would do this again.

Wonderful Walking Tour of African History & Contributions in Brazil
We toured with an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging guide named Myllena. She gave us so much information about the history of the slave trade in Brazil and an informed perspective on the repercussions of the social and economic impact it has had and still has on the Black Brazilians to this day. The tour sparked comparisons to the US (where I am from) and other colonized nations where I have lived (Vietnam, Singapore, Egypt, India, and Nigeria), especially with the recent Ghana resolution that passed in the UN declaring the transatlantic slave trade and the racialized chattel enslavement of Africans as the "gravest crime against humanity." This was an extremely enlightening and informative tour, which also highlighted the resilience of the people and the strong influence Africans had on Brazilian culture. Highly recommend the tour and our guide Myllena who was excellent.

Our best tour guide ever!
This was well worth the early departure from the hotel. Our pickup was ontime, safe, and very professional. We met our guide Ederson at the site for the view of the sunrise. He was very knowledgeable about the Redeemer and Rio as a whole. After sunrise we went up to the Redeemer and he continued to explain the history, opinions and conflicts of the citizens at the time. He went above and beyond the topics of the tour and explained a lot of other cultural topics about the country he obviously loves. He did such a great job that we hired him for the next day to take us around to some markets, the forest, a tour of the city, and to a nice quiet beach restaurant an hour outside the city. It was hands down the best experience we have had with a tour guide in our years of traveling. We inadvertently through conversation discovered that our son had Ederson as his guide 6 months prior and had been raving about him before we left for Brazil what are the odds. Thank you Ederson for the wonderful experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Matt and Trina.

History, Charm and Great Guiding
Marcela was an amazing guide! She is charming, incredibly knowledgeable, and made the tour enjoyable from start to finish. She guided the group seamlessly in both English and Portuguese and handled Rio’s traffic like a true professional. Thanks to her, we learned so much about the city’s history and culture. Highly recommended!

Rocinha Favela visit
This was a very stimulating, inspiring and memorable experience. We visited a place where 200,000 people live in a way so far from our experience at home. Our tour guide Roberto went out of his way to explain and answer our questions, and with him we felt ultra safe, many thanks to him. There were some 'eye opening' parts of this visit (no spoilers, you have to go to experience the reality of being in a favela). Highly recommended.

If I could give this six stars, I would
If I could give this six stars, I would. Ines was a friendly and interesting guide on a tour which was both informative and enjoyable. It was great being close to this year's floats, and seeing and trying on some costumes and headdresses.
I learned a lot about Carnaval: this experience made me keen to see it for myself one day. Highly recommended.

Because of Carnaval missed part of tour
Unfortunately, because it was the Tuesday of Carnaval we did not get to go to the Santa Teresa Neighbourhood or the Selaron steps. I did not see that when I booked the tour. They apologize because they could not go because of all of the traffic and different parades going on that day. I wish I had known that I would’ve booked it for the day after. Otherwise, Christ, the redeemer was a must see. Wonderful tour guide.

Exceptional Day in Rio with Karla
We were picked up right at the cruise port by a private driver and our guide, Karla. Communication beforehand was excellent, with very clear instructions about the meeting point. Karla spoke excellent English and was energetic, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about her country. At each stop, the driver dropped us off and Karla guided us personally, sharing a wealth of information, taking photos for us, and making the experience feel very customized. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Carretão, a Brazilian steakhouse, which was a highlight of the day. Karla seemed to know everyone everywhere we went. At both Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer, she greeted the staff warmly and was able to take us straight to the front of the lines, which made a huge difference. It was a fantastic day and a tour I would absolutely recommend—especially with Karla as your guide.

Living on the Edge!
This was a physically CHALLENGING experience! If you are not in decent physical shape (great knees, great legs, great lungs), this may not be a tour for you. The hike up the mountain is TOUGH! It is almost an hour long hike on rugged terrain. The Telegraph Stone is at a height of 1161 feet (354 meters). But if you can make it to the top, it is WORTH THE CHALLENGE! The views are breathtaking and the pics are priceless! Mauricio, our tour guide was patient, accommodating and as can be seen, also a GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER, he took my pix shown here, thanks bro. The tour van however is quite OLD and is in poor shape and SHOULD to be replaced. The ride in the van was very uncomfortable. We were all crammed in with little or no leg room. Please please please get a NEW VEHICLE. Would I do this specific tour again? HELL NO as it is very challenging physically plus, unless you're at the telegraph stone at the crack of dawn, you'll have to wait for close to 2 hrs to take your pics as there'll be others ahead of you and some folks in other tour groups are selfish and want to take 50 pics per person! There should be a limit of no more than 10 mins of pic taking per person! Anyway, I am happy I was able to complete the hike and get my pics with that iconic piece of rock! Go for it! You won't be disappointed!

It is a great tour for...
It is a great tour for everyone interested in the fight for sustainability and the future of our planet. We really enjoyed the walk along Olympia boulevard.
Yasmin is a great guide, she gave us a really good insight not only for the museums but for Rio and Brazilian culture.

A Wonderful Way to Experience Rio
My full-day custom private tour with Luis was an outstanding way to begin my month in Brazil. His prompt responses to all my questions set the tone from the moment I booked my tour. He worked with me to ensure we wouldn't duplicate any of the sights I'd be seeing with my other tour company. Additionally, he developed an itinerary that took into account my recent knee replacement. Our day was full of outstanding activities an sights. Luis was very pleasant to be with and extremely knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a private, customized experience in Rio.
