What To Expect

Following pickup at your hotel in Rio de Janeiro, travel Ginga Tropical Show venue.

During the  Ginga Tropical Show, you'll see dancers perform bossa nova, samba and a variety of other musical and dance styles found in Brazil. The cast of dancers and musicians will perform the dance of forró, the sultry lambada and athletic displays of capoeira. Learn through music and dance tales of folklore from the Amazon, the Pampas, Lapa, as well as the mystic rituals of Bahia. When dancers appear in outrageous Carnival costumes and shake their hips to the beat of the live drums, that can only mean one thing: it's time for you to get up and dance, too.

At the conclusion of the show, enjoy drop-off at your Rio hotel.

Optional Upgrade: Brazilian Barbecue Dinner Sit down for a delicious buffet dinner, including a variety of barbecued meats, local specialties, seafood, and salads. Dessert and drinks are available for purchase.

🚫 Total Scam Experience – Do NOT Book This Show! This was one of the worst and most infuriating travel experiences we’ve ever had. We booked tickets for Tuesday, December 23, rushed across the city, and spent almost $150 on taxis to get there on time… only to find the theater completely closed with no show at all. No staff, no sign, no explanation. Absolutely nothing. The operator provided ZERO communication and refused to answer calls or messages. We were left standing outside like fools, wasting precious vacation time and money because of their irresponsibility and complete lack of respect for paying customers. To make it worse, it took a ridiculous amount of effort to finally get a refund through Viator. No apology. No accountability. Just silence. This experience was stressful, disappointing, and downright unacceptable. This operation feels deceptive, unreliable, and totally unprofessional. Save yourself the frustration, the money, and your vacation time – DO NOT BOOK GINGA TROPICAL. Choose literally any other show. This was a nightmare.

The Ginga Show in Rio exceeded all expectations! The dancers were incredible—non-stop energy, showcasing the rich culture and traditions of every region of Brazil through mesmerizing dance movements. You could feel the influence of Brazil’s diverse culture in every step. Even though we (a group of 13 people) were tired from a full day, no one felt like falling asleep; the performance was that captivating! It was a truly spectacular show, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio. A must-see!

The show was fantastic. You see dances from all over Brazil with only the last one being samba. Can take nearly an hour on the bus to get there if you’re the first hotel pickup but still well worth it!

Unorganized and over booked

Horrible. Waited for tour guide to get our tickets. He said we had good tickets. It was Overbooked and we had to sit in plastic chairs. Very uncomfortable.. Some had to sit on steps. Would not let us in as we were in line. Made us wait for larger tour group to enter.? Our tour guide left us alone and did not help us get access. Staff was rude.. Show not professional. Everyone was pushing, yelling and upset. Awful. Want a refund. Would not recommend.

We absolutely LOVED this show! Lots of history and culture all wrapped in an hour and a half. Our guide Luis was amazing, he let us know exactly what we saw and we understood what the different parts of Brazil had to offer. Our driver Victor was great as well, and the night was one to remember. We will be back & recommending this show to friends and family that come to Rio!

Viator misled me as to what I had purchased. We did not need the supper especially as in Brasil lunch is the big dinner. Grayline informed the day before that I did not have to and from transporation. I coyld not buy oickup and return theough them . The teatro is in a very dangerous part of Rio for tourist. No taxi stand. My Brazilian friends advisex me as a tourist not to go. I therefore wasred my $ as Viator would not provide a solution.

There was no pickup so no show. My wife cried. Complain was without success. After long discussion, portal wants to check refund. Better do not book. It is a waist of money and unprofessional treatment which only causes disappointment on a holiday of Rio de Janeiro. Sorry to say so.

The perfect ending of my two weeks vacation in Rio. This show is a must see when you visit Ruo. High energy from start to finish. The tour guide was very accommodating and looked out for me and the van ride was very comfortable.

About the ride: everything went smoothly. The only thing was that booking said 8PM, then te confirmation said that pick up time is 7:50. It would have been useful to point out that the show starts at 9:30, so not to worry if we make it on time. Ends at 11 with everyone invited on stage. The show is in a small theater in a mall. High energy, quite entertaining. Lots of chance for audience participation, if you don't join in, you miss half the fun

Transportation was reliable but between operator and Viator there is still a confusion. Diner is not offered and Not an option. We expect a partial refund. Not certain why it is still offered. Otherwise show was a lot of fun, well put together and a great variety of performance representing all pets of Brésil. And pick up and drop off very realiable and informative.

I would not book this tour, apparently Viator thinks they showed up since they are asking for a review, after waiting 40 minutes we had the hotel call Grayline, the operator. They said they notified Viator about the cancellation. Trying to get a refund now.

I felt this dinner/show was wall to wall FANTASTIC!!!! Starting with our guide Louis. Im not really sure why it is called a bar b q dinner considering it is sooooo much MORE. Calling the delicious meal a bbq dinner really does not do it justice makes it sounds sticky and cheap. THE MEAL OFFERED WAS FANTASTIC!!!! And DELICIOUS AND THERE WAS NO BBQ. There was so much good food it was almost overwhelming. The restaurant where the meal was offered and served was spectacular .... like formal dinning . There was every type of meat ... ( beef, pork, chicken, prime rib, lamb) brought fresh to your table . There were many exotic dishes, salads, fruits, vegetables, comfort food, deserts and it was all you can eat. After that there was a live BRAZILIAN DANCE SHOW THAT WAS MORE THAN FABULOUS!!! The costumes, the dancing, the singing, the music, it was one of the best live shows ive ever seen. The only bad thing i have to say about it is that for some reason we were not allowed to take pictures of the show and i was pulled on stage and it would hv been nice to have a picture memory of that as well as the other parts of the show. This Dinner / Show IS A MUST SEE. We saw it on day 2 in RIO AND IT WAS GREAT Welcome TO RIO!!!

Great show! The dance troup was terrific and very entertaining. They even teach you how to dance the samba. We were dancing by the time we left the show. I’d go again and again! P.s. Be sure to include dinner with the show.
