This has been a really great experience. Both the tour leader and the tour guide were very helpful and polite. Instructions were clear and the bus was on time. The meeting points were very easy to locate as well. We learned so much about the concentration camps and WWII history. Definitely worth the money.

A tour organised by a real professional tour operator.
Although I have vowed never to use viator again after they have let us down with a scam operator (comfort tours cracow) this tour provided by cracow top tours was fantastic. The tour guide was superb, very knowledgeable, very accommodating and friendly. The tour was planned out superbly with enough time to take stuff in, we wasn't rushed and it just felt like we were getting exactly what we had paid for. It was that good we are actually looking at planning a short break to Zakopane at a later date. So well done and thankyou for such a wonderful tour. When we return I will just go straight through this company and skip Viator

A really amazing day and...
A really amazing day and very well worth doing both in the one day. We did the Salt Mines first and then Auschwitz and Auschwitz II Birkenau second. Both involved a lot of walking so wear good shoes and take plenty of water. The packed lunches were really good. Peter, the driver, and the guides in both places were excellent too. We learned so much- and still have so much still to learn. Thank you

Highly Recommend!
Pick up time changed to earlier than planned, but this was a good thing as the day was hot and very busy later. Communication was good. Lunch option provided was reasonable.
On location guide was good, explained as we went through all the areas.
Highly recommend.

Fabulous day trip!
I had a fabulous day trip with our superb guide Mirek and our wonderful driver, everyone on the tour was great, respectful and stuck to the schedule! I really enjoyed the cheese and vodka tasting- the cheese was delicious!
The funicular to the top of the mountain was beautiful - very fresh crisp air at the top, and lastly the baths were great, I stuck to the quiet zone and it was perfect for me. There are lots of pools to choose from and plenty of places to eat. I travelled on a Thursday and it was not too busy though I imagine it gets very busy at weekends and holiday. All in all a wonderful day.

Auschwitz is a very busy...
Auschwitz is a very busy place and they try to manage the amount of people and keep it respectful, which is great. This is a big challenge for tour companies to work with. So they are at the mercy of when the museum assigns their entry. We signed up for a 9:00 am tour and were told a few days before that we would be picked up at 5:30-6:00 am for a 7:30 tour. We had a long travel day prior and were not looking forward to such an early morning. However, it was a warm day and getting there early proved to be a huge blessing. The tour was highly organized and well communicated. It felt very rushed getting in the museum and moving between Auschwitz and Birkenau, but I don’t think that is the fault of the tour, they have to stay on schedule and work hard to get their people through the door in a timely manner, which they did very well. The driver was friendly and safe. There was no presentation during the drive. The guide at the museum was amazing. She handled an enormously important subject with grace and respect. She was extremely knowledgeable. I can’t say enough good about her, I wish I had gotten her name. Lots of walking as expected and whatever the weather is, you will be out in it, so be prepared. Bring tissues and don’t be ashamed to cry. We must remember what happened here and let it break us a little.

It's a LOOONG day, even longer if your group is not punctual
We loved our experience with Bart going to the Salt Mine first (2-2.5 hr tour) and then driving to Auschwitz (which took 1 hr 20 min), and then the combined Auschwitz-Birkenau Tour (4-4.5 hrs). All the English guides were informative, passionate about their respective topic, and open to answering additional questions. They were great about keeping a good pace, but keep in mind it might be intense for those who are not used to walking for long periods of time. I clocked about 20,000 steps between the 2 tours.
Sadly, due to waiting on people in the group, our break between the 2 tours was cut short and we only had 40 minutes to eat a quick lunch. The restaurant is the one on site at the Auschwitz 1 Memorial which has tourist prices ($25 USD for lunch, no beverage).
The tours are a bit longer, but it helps you appreciate the importance of each site and the history. I can't imagine having walked through any of those without a guide as it wouldn't have done it justice. I'd recommend for anyone who enjoys an educational experience while getting in some good steps.

All good
Everything was good. At the place, an authorized guide take us. Advice: It’s a long time walking, so be prepared! It’s very crowd, a lot of groups and the tour Guide has a time to finish each group, you cannot take rest between walking or stop because you are not fit enough, some people is getting mad because the guides cannot wait

An excellent but thought-provoking tour
If you are short of time in Krakow, this is the tour to do to cover two of the most important sites near this beautiful city. But be warned: this is a long day (about 11 hours) and involves a huge amount of walking, including hundreds of steps into the salt mine. If you are a slow walker or have other mobility issues, you need to be aware of this and possibly visit each site separately and on different days to give yourself a bit of a break.
Visiting Auschwitz is harrowing, but very important to acknowledge and reflect on one of the darkest times of our modern history. The guided tour is in great detail and fully explains the workings of the death camp. Most of Auschwitz 1 is intact so you really appreciate how it operated. It is poignant and sad, and few people on my tour spoke at all during the three hours of touring. Auschwitz 2 - Birkenau is mostly not intact, but the remains still enable you to understand the enormity of the Nazi death machine. So professionally and respectfully conducted by their guides.
The salt mines which are more than an hour's drive from Auschwitz, are quite staggering in their size and beauty. Again, a professionally and well conducted through the mines, but hundreds of steps and lots and lots of walking along paths which are smooth and not rough.
The lunch option is a good one to take and the hotel pick-up and return invaluable due to the early start and the late finish.
An excellent tour that brings with it the full range of emotions, but one I would highly recommend.

An amazing place
Picked up on time just around the corner from our hotel. Minibus with five other people. Driver, Matthew, was charming, helpful and informed us about everything we needed to know. Really glad we visited the Salt mine.... it was an amazing place. Yes, there are certainly a lot of steps and general walking but it was worth it. Much much busier than we ever anticipated. We had a group of 38 for the tour which was about the maximum so at times as we entered different sections we were pretty much squashed. Also there were many many schoolchildren and presumably because the tours are carried out more quickly so they do not get bored the groups kept catching up with each other and us with loudly spoken teachers drowning out our own guide..... who, incidentally, was brilliant. She was brilliant at imparting the history of the mine and kept us interested along with her jovial nature. We did find the walk to the outside after the tour finished exceedingly long for some tired legs. Enjoyed the trip very much but the crowds were a bit overwhelming.

Everything was great from communication leading up to the pick up, being on time, very friendly and extremely well organised. Can’t fault a thing and special mention to our guide, Conrad who was really engaging and gave us so much information about the camps and history of the war.
